2K Sports will be live streaming a full game of NBA 2K13 on Wednesday, September 19th at 5:00 PM EST. Check out the Oklahoma City Thunder (controlled by Ronnie2K) against the Miami Heat (controlled by LD2K). Here is the link to the live stream.
was fun to watch LD2k was moving the ball well and driving when the lane was open and got some nice poster dunks AND 1's and nice layups animations in the paint.... was fun to watch
Missed the Live stream but im watching the Twitch.tv recorded video and it's looking sick! Noticed a lot of big differences and the animations are great! I like how sometimes the guy follows his shot after shoots at times, and the passing looks much cleaner! Video is not over yet but damn good job 2k!
There are a few issues i have with speed of the pass, idk if it's just me but it looks sorta quicker than it usually should be. (no biggie) But i love how driving the lane is way less frustrating and are smooth when dunking and laying the ball up! Can't wait to get the game!
I was able to watch about 5 minutes of game time total so far (I did skip around though). It looks amazing and has me pumped for the game. My only only real issue though is the missed dunks. Lebron James was wide open with no real contest and threw it down and it hit the back of the rim and bounced out. The same thing happened with Dwayne Wade. How often do you see those 2 guys miss wide open dunks when taking it to the lane? I hope those were just anomalies, but twice in a 5 min qt game by 2 superstars is a little concerning(especially when considering I only watched roughly 5 minutes).
Great: Best gameplay video by far. Didn't see too much of the weird sliding in other videos, and a lot of the little animations-- walkup, looking back at the ref, Perkin's pick-- looked fantastic. Where as other videos showed some inappropriate passing animations, this one suprised me by a few new ones that kicked in appropriately. Game actually looks like it might feel very good to play.
Bad: I REALLY don't like that there's an equalizer volume bar graphic every time the scoreboard changes. I don't like Jay-Z adding mics to the wipes but I can deal with them. Having Jay-Z's "fingerprints" on the scoreboard for every bucket is just in your face and obnoxious. If you're going to mess with presentation and try to "innovate", leave the scoreboard alone. That's the *one* thing you want to get as close to broadcast as possible, or else it's just an eyesore for anyone who wants their games to look like what they see on TV (and who really doesn't)?
Halftime show graphics weren't terrible but aren't as nice as 2K12's.
Sad: Durant's face looks TERRIBLE. He looks like Winnie the Pooh. How did 2K manage to mess up the face of their cover athelete? He's this year's Chris Paul.
No sweat after all. Maybe my imagination but the waxy glow looked a little stronger in the 4th quarter, but it doesn't look anything like the great sweat effects of 2K7? to 2K11.
i've tried that 12 times. doesn't work for me at all. got any other links?
Go on the link. Look on the bottom of the video it's going to say videos and info, press on videos and press the video of this stream, then 2kip to the 20 minute mark.
I haven't read through this thread as I just got home, but I'll just add my opinion. The video was fun. I didn't get to see it all as I was at work, but it seemed very fluid. My main gripe... Why Thunder vs Heat? Am I missing something? LD2K seems to always use the Lakers, and Ronnie2k mentioned he mainly uses the Clippers and.. someone else. So why this? Honestly, I wanted to see different teams. We'll be seeing Thunder and Heat in the demo over and over. It feels like today they're just playing the demo is, before they chopped out the 1st quarter for us.
It looks like they reworked the Pick system to where you can toggle to if you want your guy to Roll, Slip or Pop. This is definitely a great add, but I still want to see if you can change it after you read how the defense reacts once the pick is set.
23:58 - I wish Ronnie pumped faked here because battier did a long jump here, and I want to see can you catch guys jumping prematurely in the air for shooting fouls.
24:38 - This contact for the putback looks awesome
32:20 - What is Battier doing? He just runs back and forth in the same area? It looks like Durant is trying to keep him off his path, but that's Shane Battier, why would anyone make that much of a effort to deny him?
48:22 - This is subtle thing I noticed, Westbrook's stamina is at 75% in the 4th quarter, and that's right after a time out. And Westbrook's endurance is pretty high. Still need to see how it affects shooting and athleticism, but looks promising compared 2k12 where it would be like 95% lol. Also here are Westbrooks Signature skills
Best moment for me was the off-ball basket-cut down the lane by AI-controlled Lebron early in the stream. It was an intelligent play because his man was overplaying.

Yeah man i agree with you 100% about Jay-Z. I've never really cared too much about small details like this in presentation, but these colors just look extremely bright and tacky. Plus the whole watch the throne album cover theme look incorporated into everything....

What I don't like about this is that when you're playing 1v1 on the same console the other guy knows if you're doing a PnR or a Pick'n'pop. That's not good. Is this turn offable?
First of all, Everybody Loves Ron-mond. Seriously, you guys are vocal-identical twins.
Second, i like how Ronnie keeps saying that a high pick-and-roll is "his play". That was funny.
And third, all those gold curly-cues really are awful looking (and flat-out unnecessary if you ask me), especially on things like the substitution overlays. Sorry Jigga, don't mean to nitpick.
All in all, the game looks good. Supposedly not the final build, and the lag/framerate drops were definitely stream-related. And anyone complaining about the way they were playing, i also would have liked to see some plays ran, etc. but we obviously can't do much about that.
Anyway, thanks for the extra preview fellas. Maybe our paths will cross online someday.
