Madden NFL 13 News Post


Madden NFL 13 Title Update #2 is available now for 360 users. We'll update this post when PS3 users can see it.

This update includes a new instant start option when creating a player in CCM. The team has also fixed numerous stability issues and GameFace improvements.

While the team hasn't added the ability to edit players in CCM, they still haven't shot down the idea completely, in hopes to have it available in a future patch.

The week 1 Madden NFL 13 updated rosters for CCM are not included in this title update, but are supposed to be out sometime this week.

UPDATE: Here are the details on the title update.
  • Added an Instant Start option to Connected Careers as a player
  • Numerous commentary improvements to address when lines trigger and what they say.
  • Added a trade notification in CCM for the NFL Draft
  • Fixed social media sharing post-game to address spacing issues
  • Improved the GameFace feature
  • Fixed Challenge Audio to make the appropriate call
  • Improved Physics Get-up post play
  • Adjusted created players in Connected Careers so that they always have high progression grades despite their backstory choices
  • Fixed defensive assignment issues against the CPU AI when users were in Man Coverage
  • Increased the chances to trade for a CPU team’s starter
  • Adjusted the scouting development trait in CCM to display as (Slow, Medium, Fast, or Superstar) instead of 0-3.
  • Added the ability to post results from H2H MUT games on Facebook/Twitter.
  • Numerous stability issues around the game in general were also included in the update to improve the overall experience and Connected Careers specifically.

If you pressed A (X on PS3) to skip through a replay, you couldn't see down & distance or the clock while the playcalling screen was up. Pausing and unpausing would bring it back, but was a pain.

Only way I was able to see the clock, etc, during play selection was to let the replay play through its entirety on its own. Skipping it hid it for some reason.

None of this means a thing to me because I still can't kick a tackle in to guard if I so choose, change players' numbers so 50 of them on my team don't have the same one. You know, the stuff I've been able to do for a large majority of the past decade.

They are supposed to be adding edit players in the next title update.

I have not noticed any change in my offline CCM post patch. Scheme still won't save, cpu won't trade certain players and the gameplay is the same.

Losses count in OTP now, found out the hard way. My team got disconnected and was stuck playing 3-1 so i quit to pick my friends back up only to see my community get it's first loss... Grrr

that is crazy that such a simple fix wasnt included. I would be embarrassed that this bug even got through QC before release, wouldnt it take exactly one game to find this bug...and then 10 minutes to code a fix? it does play mind games with you when you have to switch it before every kickoff haha, so irritating...

I wasn't sure where to ask this. Did the patch fix accelerated clock in online CCM to working??

Which is just ridiculous really if true. I mean, wasnt the point of CCM to have one common platform between offline and online, so changes would affect each mode all together? Unbelievable.

Sure, I could play my CCM single player, online... but I tried that too and of course the servers crapped out during my game, so I played a game... for nothing. I'd rather not do that again.

What gives? Really love the game, but this is getting extremely frustrating. I've stopped playing it actually. Partly because NHL13 is out now, and it's pretty incredible, but partly because these issues need to be fixed. I want to play an offline CCM, and actually have it work properly. If they could fix these small issues, Madden is really easily the best Madden in a long, long time.

The changes to IE in this latest patch have really hurt my enjoyment of the game. Instead of getting cool varied tackles that were different just about everytime. Now we have a game full of canned animations where the fix for the tripping is players pinballing off of each other. Head on tackles look foolish now.

Really sad that people whining about tripping after the play has resulted in this. Seems like a bait and switch at this point honestly. Think I might be done if no news of another patch or changes to IE are not made.

nope played a gm in one of my online leagues last night and it was still no accel.

Anyone hear any news if they "are looking into" the 2 player co-op update? Can't believe you can do it in play now mode but can't in CCM mode, seems like a no brainer to fix....I can understand that it would have to be in offline CCM mode but that should make the fix even easier #EA SPORTS FIX

Great post, and is very much in line with my thoughts on the game. I can see the potential of Madden 13, but man, the bugs/issues within CCM are just, well, Madden-ing.

I've tried playing a few Offline CCMs but I lose interest after a game or two because the Preseason is such a mess. Depth charts get all screwed up (why starters come out after the first quarter in all 4 games is beyond me) and you are penalized if you sim the games because your backups won't see the field.

So, I'm stuck playing one-off games instead of trying to build my team. I'm not expecting a 100-percent fix because I know better but at the very least I'd expect coaching schemes to stick, auto-subs to work and better CPU playcalling. I can deal with the rest via workarounds.

This thread is long so I'll just ask it here: Does anyone know if this patch has fixed the bug that apparently makes jersey numbers on some teams way too big?

Just to be clear about this:

1) Are you saying this is happening due to the patch, or was this happening before?

2) Are you saying you have a brand new QB in 2017, and Phil Simms is acting as if Josh Freeman is still on your team, and they are talking about his 2011 season....in 2017?

What's funny is that some people here actually "feel bad" for the developers, they feel bad for the criticism they get. If I remember correctly, this is their JOB. This is their 9-5. This is how they make a living. This is why they wake up in the morning. For those in the professional world like me, imagine showing up to a meeting Friday morning completely unprepared. You were supposed to give numbers, figures, whatever and you showed up with nothing. In fact, you showed up with a paper saying "I'm sorry you're having difficulty, but I assure you I'll look into it." What is the boss going to say? This company revolves around mediocrity, and TBQH, I cannot wait until a disgruntled ex-employee of EA starts spilling the beans about how they run things.

On a side note, is anyone else having a blast reading through the old "blogs" these developers made pre-release? About the progressive lighting, about how it's so much better than NCAA 13, how Madden 12 didn't really give a true broadcast feel but M13 does, how the new "live ticker" gives a sense of realism, blah blah blah. All of that hot air gives me the giggles, because I see none of that on my 360 and M13

They do seem off, players seem to have lost their weight and I've seen some weird collisions which were not present before the patch.
