NBA 2K13 Features 92 Dream Team (With Barkley, No Pippen) & 2012 Olympic Team

The '92 Dream Team & 2012 Olympic team will be featured in NBA 2K13. Charles Barkley is in, but Scottie Pippen couldn't get a deal worked out.

It's cool we get to battle it out between these 2 teams, but with Pippen off the roster, it puts a definite blemish on the announcement.

2K Sports proudly announces partnership with USA Basketball for NBA 2K13

2K Sports today announced a partnership with USA Basketball to feature both the star-studded 2012 USA Basketball Men�s National Team and the 1992 �Dream Team� in NBA 2K13, the next installment of the top-selling and top-rated NBA video game simulation franchise*.

�As executive producer, letting fans go head to head with these legendary USA teams was extremely important to JAY Z,� said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. �We are excited to partner with USA Basketball, and share in JAY Z�s enthusiasm in making this a reality in NBA 2K13.�

The 2012 USA Basketball Men�s National Team has earned recognition as one of USA Basketball�s all-time greatest teams. NBA 2K13 cover athlete Kevin Durant helped lead the USA to its successful showing and joins the elite list of accomplished basketball players who have represented USA Basketball.

�It was an incredible blessing to have been part of the 2012 USA Basketball National Team,� said Durant. �USA Basketball's National Team legacy is incredible and so many of basketball�s all-time greats have been part of it, I�m just honored to be in that group. Lol i just thought about it, but most of the people my age were just born when the dream team was playing. Who knows if they even care, but does anyone care that sir Charles is finally in the game?

That was a huge announcement for myself.

I'm sure most people are happy that Barkley is in the game. But now that Pippen might not be in Nba 2k13, people are complaining about that instead of praising 2k for finally getting Barkley into the game.

Unless they make it so he isnt useless like dejuan blair is in 2k12, it wont matter thats hes in the gm.

Your'e right. They shouldn't have included it at all. But it's sad to think that 2k offered Barkley all that money and now he's only appearing on the dream team. 2k could have offered Pippen that money and he would've appeared on the dream team and the classic bulls teams.

Oh, forgot my 2 cents on this - Damn, no Pip. He's 'broke' and in mucho debt so he's probably asking for too much. Lol. Gunna suck to not have him but he needs to understand that SOME money is greater than NO money at all

Yea but when we talk about how the 2012 team would match up with the 92' team one of the discussions that is often bought up is how Pippen would match up with Lebron. Now that Pippen isn't in the game, it makes this announcement a little bit of a let down. If anyone (with the exception of Laettner) isn't part of the 92' team in the game, it's a let down.

I usually just edit rosters to make super teams that I play against friends with.
For the last 2 years, the PF is always an after thought.. The game needed Barkley, Prime KG, and Prime Duncan.
This is a huge addition for me. Scottie was great but there are a bunch more wing players he can be replaced by.

But what's the nba's greatest mode going to be like without Pippen? They better keep negotiating with him or the Classic Bulls teams might not even get included. Nba greatest mode will be a failure without the classic bulls teams. He's better than Barkley and Miller.

I respectfully disagree. I'll take 92% of the Dream Team over no Dream Team at all, particularly if 2K allows for roster management and the ability to create our own missing players. For instance, I'm extremely glad they didn't go the all-or-nothing route with classic teams. Even for squads missing prominent players (Nick Van Exel on the '98 Lakers in 2K12), the ability to fill out the rest of those rosters ourselves made their inclusion very rewarding and satisfying.

If Pippen is not in the game...it's really gonna put a damper on the classic Bulls teams.

Maybe we shouldn't be to quick to trade in those copies of 2k11 & 2k12....

hard to see pip not classic bulls teams. Something has get worked by release time. Let's hope they dont remove him and his stuff off the disc. We roster makers can always put him back in.

Lets hope people could even hex edit in 2k13. I don't think 2k will remove Pippen off the disk because last year they couldn't come to an agreemant with Van Exel but they still left him on the disk. But maybe 2k will come to an agreement with Pippen soon.
