NBA 2K13 Features 92 Dream Team (With Barkley, No Pippen) & 2012 Olympic Team

The '92 Dream Team & 2012 Olympic team will be featured in NBA 2K13. Charles Barkley is in, but Scottie Pippen couldn't get a deal worked out.

It's cool we get to battle it out between these 2 teams, but with Pippen off the roster, it puts a definite blemish on the announcement.

2K Sports today announced a partnership with USA Basketball to feature both the star-studded 2012 USA Basketball Men�s National Team and the 1992 �Dream Team� in NBA 2K13, the next installment of the top-selling and top-rated NBA video game simulation franchise*.

The 2012 USA Basketball Men�s National Team has earned recognition as one of USA Basketball�s all-time greatest teams. NBA 2K13 cover athlete Kevin Durant helped lead the USA to its successful showing and joins the elite list of accomplished basketball players who have represented USA Basketball.

Are you talking about 2k12 or 2k13? That does stink that people won't be able to hex edit any more after 2k13 or 2k12 [what ever game you are talking about] but if they add gameface, that will solve all of our problems with missing key players.

This isnt news to me at all..I have this on console and pc and my pc version has these teams and more, with scottie, i know im down-playing this but i just played 92 DT vs 12 USA team last night..and i dont have "generic" shoes..smh..dont know why they wont just take those out the game..been on pc for a little over a year now and will fully convert to it if console versions keep having problems with getting certain players in the game..

LOL Pippen was never in any bankruptcy type of financial trouble. It was a different Pippen. He did make some bad investments but says he never really dipped below 40m. All this talk about chapter 11 and no wonder the guy is suing people. These things do damage reputations fast.

If I was to guess right now....I would say Pippen is on the classic Bulls teams but not on the 92 team and Barkley is only on the 92 team but not any classic teams.

Who knows ??....A lot can happen between now and October.

Yeah, we all need to hold out some hope. Scottie is one of my top 5 favorite players. This game would be useless without him to me as I play classic Bulls. Roster edits are not going to help things like commentary.

With all this financial haggling about who's on what team, I think we can assume that we will not be able to trade legends between teams or make any adjustments without some workarounds.

It is good news that Pippen didn't file for bankruptcy. Me and other people in this thread said several times about how Pippen is still going to be on the classic bulls but not the dream team. I hope we are right.
If we are right, then we could easily move him from the bulls team to the dream team.

I can sorta see why there are unimpressed people on here. We already had all the Dream Team members, except for Barkley. Now they essentially just switched Pippen for Barkley.

Tho I suspect this is a part of a larger kind of plan for Team USA.

I hope 2k didn't give Justin Bieber a lot of money to appear in the game. If they did me and I'm sure alot of other people are going to scream because then they could have given that money to Pippen.

That's a good point. There's obviously still a lot of unanswered questions but from the small bit of information we know (or think we know), the article stating Barkley will appear for the USA but not classic teams seems to suggest they're separate entities in terms of name rights (which would sort of make sense, since one would be through the NBA and the other not).

Naturally, if that was in fact the case, I think the next question would be what might prevent users from simply adding Pippen to the Dream Team themselves, or adding Chuck to classic teams? Will transactions be locked with the Dream Team? Will players be editable? I'll be curious to find out.

This is pretty cool, but 2k13 NEEDS to include the '92-'93 Suns team, even if Barkley won't be on it. This way the HEX edit guys (Barockafella) can Hex edit him onto the Suns, and we'll at least get the authentic Suns court to play on. They also need to do FULL legend rosters...sick of dealing with that. Shoe edits would be nice too!

Hokup guy said that people could still hex edit in 2k13 which means that someone could upload Barkley on 2k share. Then, we could download him and assign him to a classic team.If Pippen isn't on any classic teams, but his cybeface is still on the disk, then someone could do the same thing.

Interesting old comments about what Pippen and Jordan think of Barkley at the time anyway about his drive to win.

And honestly, Pippen is a better overall player than Charles. You can't just do this switching and not clear things up. He had better be on classic bulls.

It's ok, just hand us the ability to hex edit rosters, and Pippen will be on the 92 Dream Team, and Barkley's Suns will be recreated. Besides, THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF HIDDEN faces, hokup, can certainly find a Scottie Pippen, since he says theres 4 Pippens in 2K12. So no worries for me, now how about adding Reggie and A.I?

Barockafella on 360 2k share can do anything, so as long as there are no hex edit restrictions or player locks, then he'll make the Suns team with the real Barkley. Not sure what Pippen's problem is, but if he is not part of the game at all, that will be a huge bummer.

Amazing announcement, BUT, no Pippen on classic Bulls teams then i'm not buying the game. I can live without him on the Dream Team.

As i've said before, no legends, then i'm sticking with 2k12.
