@Yeats @RoyceDa59

Guys, to edit Jenkey's mod, all you have to do is open ex04.img in the editor, instead of dt04.img which is the demo's default database file. Jenkey's mod doesn't overwrite the default files. I have edited players and formations that way and works

*preface* I couldn't really find an appropriate thread for this, but felt it didn't warrant one of it's own....

So...

Can anyone tell me if the officiating is better than in 2011?

I can't stand getting hacked down all over the pitch w/o getting any calls, while collecting cards and defending set pieces frequently on my end.

I haven't played 2012...sorry.

Honestly, I love fouls. Not committing them...but the way they affect the game. The older versions of the game had individual officials...and games often felt very different. Some games were slowed by frequent whistles, while others were almost violent. More importantly, one could almost guarantee that if you were hacked down 3 times in the box, you would get at least ONE call...unlike in 2011...where, .

The officiating in 2011 is by and large one-sided, and it often ruins the experience.

As long as we're at it...I want some other features from the ps2 days.

Player swaps...are they in?

Condition regulation...that mystical roll of the dice...i want it back.

Kit options...i like being able to choose shirts and shorts independently pre-game...sometimes it helps with distinction, and kits are awesome anyway.

And I miss the ability to actually DO SOMETHING in goal-front scrambles...but i think someone has already mentioned that this seemed much better in 2013.

Can't wait. gotta have it.

The fouls in 2012 were a big step up from 2011. So, 2013 should again be headed in the right direction.

Konami needs to make sure refs give out cards after they signal to play on. Otherwise, it becomes a viable tactic to knowingly slide in on a CPU player after they have completed a pass in order to remove them from the offensive play. As long as the pass is completed, the play on will be enforced allowing me to go unpunished for the late tackle.

I don't think I have ever seen a late card given after a play on has been completed. This was also a problem in 2012.

A couple of videos from my best game so far, a 2-1 win over Germany as England.

Germany got on the board first due to a deflection that beat Hart far-post but the attacking three of Walcott , Rooney, and Welbeck were too much. Rooney tied it at 1-1 with a goalazo that Neur had no chance on and Welbeck finished them off with a cheeky chip assisted by a lovely pass from Walcott who terrorized Boateng all match long.

My 2nd vid is trademark Neymar terrorizing my defense in the middle of the pitch. He beats the first man by jumping over the challenge. The next defender gets a subtle feint and touch outside while the 3rd defender gets 2 very quick step-overs followed by a dangerous through ball into the box.

KG that Rooney goal was niiiice, reminded me of the one Balotelli scored against Germany.

Nice penalty save KG!

I also miss pre-season friendlies in ML. I hope they're back, as they are a great chance to give new signings a run.

I should have recorded the angle from behind Rooney. The shot placement combined with the power was lethal. When you hit one right in PES you can feel it.

Thanks. To be honest, Hart should have been carded. I took down Ozil in the box and didn't even get a card. It was a great fake though, lol. Ozil faked it with his left and went right. Breaking ALL tendencies.

I'm pretty sure friendlies were available in ML in 2012. I know for a fact they were in there in BAL.

Good point. You can pretty much break bones off the ball and it's ignored.

Yes you can change the layout, also you can change the layout in the demo in the control settings.

As it stands right now Fifa is going to have to do a lot for me to get both games

PES has that good old feeling back and it is a blast to play agian at the moment. I just hoped they don't change too much for demo 2 and retail.

Can you imagine if demo 2 being BETTER then this? smh lawdy. Im already addicted, played 50+ games. Now if demo 2 is even better and the retail just adds to it; imma be in trouble. Im not even a big soccer fan but im enjoying this little demo more then ive enjoyed madden 12 and NBA 2K12 and those are my fav sports ( even though im rocking hockey all over my arena lol ) .

Changed the layout thanks, love it! Love the presentation. I just dont like how you can easily just keep turning on the D to get around them.

I had a PES game back in the day on PS2, and it was great. If Winning 11 is the same game, I had #9 Winning 11.

Haven't played any since that time and on the cpu with mods. Been Fifa player past two year and really happy with the game/Ultimate team. Still I downloaded this demo and a couple of things :

I'm pretty impressed, it seems a little more fluid of a game rather than feeling like things were a little "scripted" like I do in EA games. Another thing I really liked was how the attackers would attack after shots and giving opportunities on rebounds. Really done nice (one point where Fifa fails miserably and drives me crazy)

The player ID is also a very nice touch and gives a little bit more personalized feel and swagger to the game. Next, I really like the ball mechanics and the "weight" of the ball in this game a little better than Fifa. It really gives you an opportunity to make realistic shots outside the box and actually have a chance to score - Something that I can't do (and some being controller skill) in Fifa.

I didn't look at controls a lot, but I'm not sure how to do any moves so I flicked the right stick and could only do one move the whole time so that took just a little away for me, but that's not the game's fault of course.

The cons : Seemed a little bit too easy - While the shooting outside is a very nice touch and I really enjoyed it, at the same time my feeling is that in a longer match possibility of having too many of these go in the net is a little concerning for me.

The other thing is the cpu AI on defense, again seemed a little to easy to just purely dribble and change direction and run circles around the guy. And, I started to see a troubling trend of the defends near goal line, towards the side of the field PASSING the ball to the middle of the box - which my striker usually grabbed for an easy score.

So first impression, overall is I think it's a pretty good game, didn't feel totally different than Fifa but there are areas where each are a little stronger than the other by just a hair.

can you shoot along the ground without using manual shooting?

# 259 fugazi @ 08/07/12 01:47 AM
i haven't played the demo, but i am so excited it is silly.

That being said, my current ML team is in terrific form...gonna be sad to see em go.

another note on changing the button layout - last game owned was 2011, never played 2012 so not sure if it was new last year or this year, but when you change the button layout the command list option shows button inputs for your button layout, not the default. Love it.
