Where do you download the PC demo from? All my google searches bring up shady looking sites.

Did I mention how awesome this game is? I must have played about 25 consecutive matches on my PS3 just a moment ago, most of them using Portugal. I must say the more you play the better you get and the better the game gets it is truly amazing. I am still not the greatest but using manual shooting is challenging however when I score a goal from it I get so hyped with fist pump action and all lol. I haven't had that feeling in a long time with a footy game.

Now onto some other things I noticed; I know some people said there is a lack of build up play, but plenty of matches on the Professional difficulty I have noticed the CPU build up play pretty nicely. Playing against Germany I saw them perform a few back passes and string a few passes in the midfield before moving the ball forward. If you are covering gaps and players well enough the CPU won't always look push the ball forward.

I think most of us are seeing these all out attacks because we are a bit more rushed to do something with the ball in these 5 min matches. However, I can't speak for the PC community with the demo unlocker as they can play up to 30mins and I myself was only able to get a few matches on the PC over the last couple of days before my PC crashed yesterday. Anyways, can't wait to play more and I hope I can get my PC up and run to play more of this game with the demo unlocker, but if that doesn't happen I am fully enjoying it on the PS3.

I agree. The game is great. I can't stop playing the demo I am still going to check out Fifa but as it stands now I may be back to buying just one soccer game this year

That's the thing....

There is just something "right" about PES. In reality, it doesn't have to be "great"...when PES is simply "good", there is really no contest. I'm buying the hype this year.

The sales say otherwise, but we're talking aesthetics here.

I really wonder how PSG is going to look in ML. I imagine when upper-level teams go wild as they have (City recently, Madrid a time or two) it can be a real design/programming/simming nightmare on the production side.

Here's to blowing off work after the release

You are right FIFA is always going to blow away PES in sales but year after year PES always makes a good profit from their worldwide sales.

But other than that, you are right about PSG they are rated really high in the game. I checked them out on the PC demo unlocker and with them adding Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic, and Thiago Silva it makes them one of the best teams in the game. Ibrahimovic is rated the best striker in the game and Thiago Silva is one of the few defenders rated over a 90. I expect to see more people using PSG online this year in both PES and FIFA.

I don't know about getting FIFA this year or even playing it besides the demo, I usually get very disappointed with the game after I see its the same old the more I play it. Last year I played the early release and that was enough for me to see if I would be play that game long term. Unless FIFA 13 blows me away I think I will just hold onto my money.

Last year I didn't really enjoy any soccer game fully except for Football Manager 2012. And haven't really enjoyed PES since 2009 (PES 2011 wasn't too bad though) that was when they first added the BAL mode and I put sooo many hours on that game. I am hoping this game can deliver guys.

I agree with both of you. They finally seem to be on track this year.

Royce,

I really didn't enjoy either game last year but I did go back and forth between. I have season ticket this year so I will play fifa for the 3 days and see what happens but right now I am so blown away by what PES has done this year it probably won't matter what fifa does

There a few things they can still tweak but as long as they don't change too much I think the game will be great when it comes out.

EDIT - As for PSG, a lot of people will be using them online

Uh oh I think I'm growing out of modding the PC, lol. I have been way too lazy to get all the sweet mods that are out there for the PC demo; dunno why I just want to enjoy it on the 360 instead.

You and me must have a -1 correlation in that regard because I am just beginning this fascination.

Downloaded on PC yesterday. Bought a Logitech gamepad today and am downloading my first mod ever right now!

Haven't seen you in a while Matt how you been? What do you think of the demo?

Don't worry, I will probably get back into it full scale once released. I have a fairly new rig and vid card - just have to get the gumption to install the mods that I've downloaded

You will enjoy this ride - and never look back, man. Evo-Web is a close second to OS for me.

Ol' Royce - how are you. I am well, itching to get PES 13 so I can continue Matteo's journey; FIFA just isn't cutting it; it is wayy too easy in BAP mode.

I love the PES 13 demo, it is fantastic. The player movements off the ball, the different animations. The overall feel of passes and shooting is just sublime. I think the new management are going back to appreciating the older PES (PES 5/6) and working their way towards the list of what made those versions so incredible.

Just like everyone though, I am hoping full retail version is just as on par as the demo is.

Well I hit the brakes on the modding right away lol. I'm getting too many malware warnings from all the links I'm trying to download from and I'm totally wussing out lol.

Lol. Don't worry about that - most of the modders use different links to get affiliate points for themselves. They get $$ for links clicked; not much - but enough to balance out the lack of donations.

Don't let a virus scanner prevent you from enjoying the game thoroughly!

Matt,

Does that mean you are in the same boat as me and may only get 1 soccer game this year?

I'd love to say so, but FIFA for the PC really had some shining moments for me. If they can change the ball physics, increase the field size, change dribbling head bobbing animation - FIFA would come to a very close second imho.

With that said, PES 13's gameplay is absolutely stunning so far. It's amazing how natural the runs off the ball look like a true soccer game. The best part is you know the devs will improve the defense with that much running off the ball occurring - it just has to happen.

When it comes down to it...I am hoping for some "little" things.

Example...

I really like being able to sort players by particular stat/rating. If I'm looking for a big CB, I wanna be able to sort by Height or Jumping or Balance, etc.
The fact that I couldn't on 2011 is just ridiculous.

It would be AWESOME if my ENTIRE ML SIDE did not get called up for Internationals. I'm not kidding. All but 2-3 of my guys get called up EVERY time. The best part...I signed 2 scrubs from my youth team, a 70 rated GK, and a LOW 40s MF...and they both were called up for duty. smh. Trying to field a side when nearly every player is fatigued and in poor form is just annoying.

I also hope away form is a little better. I like that it is tougher to win on the road, but I shouldn't look at my squad when we're on a 5, 7 plus game unbeaten streak, and find them all with blue and purple arrows just because we had to travel across the wide open expanse of Germany... and it happens with virtually every away game. I do like that it makes you adjust your tactics and adapt...but I think it is a little over-done.

I'd also like some return on my investment in my youth team. I have a max scout and max investment, but have not received anything but dudes in the 40s for two years. Oh, wait...Castolo...he's there at 59, looking like a giant among men on my youth squad lol. But after my first year, when investment was much lower, I wound up with 6 players worth calling up (not counting Palmieri-the-legend). I don't get it...

I will agree that the game on the pitch is the most important thing...but some of these little things are a little off-putting. Especially things like sortable searching...

Good point on Fifa on the PC. If I did get Fifa as well it probably would be on the PC.

I agree on the PES 13 gameplay. It is great. I love how free the ball is. Also, the animations are finally good to me and don't seem clunky anymore which is HUGE!!!

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm thinking about ordering PES 2013 from the UK, I live in Canada. Is there any difference from in the UK version to the NA one? Are the option files better on the UK versions and would it even work on my NA ps3?

Yeah option files would work on your NA PS3 if you decided to get the UK/EU versions. However, "better" is subjective depending on what teams you are looking for in your option files. We may not get a vast amount of option files made in the NA but we get some pretty quality ones. The guys that do the NA option on pesgaming community have a good leagues they put in. Also to answer your question there really isn't any difference between the NA and UK one except for languages that's about it, and maybe online but I think we may be able to play people all over the world this year.

Check over here to see what work was done last year: http://www.pesgaming.com/forumdisplay.php?f=332

# 280 RaptorMania @ 08/10/12 05:25 PM
wow, the work put into those files is fantastic. The quality of the kits is even better than the "licensed" ones on fifa. Either way, I'll be getting my first PES game since the PS2 days. I can't wait till 13 is out.
