Madden NFL 13 News Post

It all seemed too good to be true.

Now after this week's bombshells that you cannot edit players in connected careers or play any other games in the mode other than your own, it seems like the Madden team is once again forcing you to play your game their way. To me, this is a huge problem. Others of you? Maybe not so much. But let's hear it: Has the 'closed' nature of Connected Careers turned you away and/or cooled your enthusiasm about Madden NFL 13?

Sound off!

Hasn't turned me away at all... I think the new career mode sounds awesome, and being able to create my own coach, take over a team, potentially be fired for not doing well, etc, sounds great.

All that said, I get why people are upset that liked to control all 32 teams or make edits, or both.

Good breakdown - it's hard to disagree with the comparison. Who knows, maybe they will be able to patch highlights so we can at least view the play of the game or something. I know it's a stretch - but if the game isn't alpha yet, there might be a chance.

You need to add a few to your losing list: No NCAA import. No multi-team franchise. etc.

This issue is that these are simple things they didn't really have to take out, or as some of you say, "leave out". Like I said, other games don't often take out features as much just to add stuff in as frequently as EA does with Madden.
Nope none of that affects me. Going to be one of the best years for Madden for me. Plenty of things I am really excited about, most of which is Franchise CC related.....and.....of course the gameplay improvements!!

I barely have time in my schedule to get through couple seasons playing as ONE team. I would never make it through 1 season if I played the other teams games also. I am like Dale, I see the complaints but don't understand how those would equal a NO BUY with all the other great inclusions.

It started off sounding great, but it's starting to turn me off with the lack of user options and control.

I do look at the fact that EA is constantly criticise for not making any real changes to their games, only minor tweaks each year. So I'll give it a chance since they really have made some big changes and have taken some risk.

Hopefully it pays off and the things that were left out will only be a minor annoyance for this year.

Nope don't do those either. Granted I never owned NCAA and Madden in the same year so NCAA import does not affect me and Multi-team franchise is what "two" users in same house running a Franchise??? If so then no that does not affect me either, unless my Fiancee got frisky and wanted to play

Well heres the deal with me.

I still have Madden 12 on my bookcase.SO I can just Draft all the players and put em on their respected teams.

Unless I hear about Madden adding in where we can edit numbers and equipment while in CC Its A NO BUY FOR ME.

I could care less about editing Attributes because we just got that addition last year.PLUS I understand it messing up the XP system.

But we've been able to edit equipment and numbers forever except in the first Madden for this GEN.So editing attributes is no deal for me.

So PLEASE EA add back in the addition of editing equipment and numbers so Everyone can enjoy Madden 13

Absolutely,

I don't enjoy playing a season from the perspective of my team. I like having my own version of the full NFL experience. The entire league.

As I stated yesterday, this is the worse headline I've ever seen on OS. Extremely disappointed. I guess I'm stuck with Madden '12.

Maybe he's just talking for himself, and not all of you ..

He used 'I', not 'we' ..

Not at all! I never edit players or play any other games other than my own. I guess if I was younger and had a ton more time to play through leagues and stuff it would be a disappointment but not to me. I just like to jump in and play each weeks Steelers game and mess around a bit.

The fact i can have an online league with me and my friends with a salary cap and FA is what i have been waiting for. I have not purchased Madden in a few years but because of these features, i am buying it over NCAA. For me, it made it a must buy.

It was one of many reasons I'll be passing on Madden.

I usually am an online player for the most part but I've grown tired of the win all at costs ridiculousness that goes on online. The vids I've seen show the some player movement and oline play that is just as exploitable as past years.

So I thought, maybe I could just be an offline guy and this game will be decent. Now I start hearing about all the missing features from that mode and I've been completely turned off to this game.

They've added a few nice additions, but I don't think Madden will be the football game I'm looking for until Madden 14 at the soonest. I barely touched 10-12 once I did pick them up, so I doubt I'll miss 13 either. In the meantime, the ps2 games will be fine for what I need in a football game.

It actually makes sense given the depth of it it almost had to be this way for it to work

I'm turned off, but still still on the fence. If the developers on twitter keep acting like immature kids getting called to the principles office, then I won't stay ob the fence much longer.

# 116 newefan @ 06/13/12 05:12 PM
it sucks, total BS , no reason to let most of this stuff be left out ccm.
the one i don't get is fantasy draft it's either yes or no so why was it left out?

# 117 Anaxamander @ 06/13/12 05:15 PM
I made a decision years ago to never buy games that only allowed you to play your team's game in franchise, and the reason is simple--I never get my money's worth out of them. I'm the type of guy who likes to play my team's game, plus a couple others that look interesting in any given week. I do the same thing with baseball and NBA games. If I can't do that it Madden anymore, it becomes a weekend rental, simple as that.

Not only has this game turned me off to Madden but also NCAA as well. I'm not a huge college football fan but I enjoy watching a game or two every Saturday along with playing the major match ups in NCAA Football. However since we can't import rookies there is no reason for me to pick up the game at full price, even with the discount.

Madden '13 might be a Black Friday at best but that's it.

It hasn't turned me away. It has dampened my enthusiasm a little though. I really enjoy being able to get different rosters through roster share on NCAA football and Madden hasn't and won't let you do that. Not being a able to at least change players equipment and number in CC is just crazy. I am still looking forward to the game though. It is getting a little old that in this gen of Maddens they seem to add things that are great, only to take away things that are also great. I still don't get it.

# 120 gjneff @ 06/13/12 05:21 PM
I'll try it, but way turned off. Everything I loved is either gone, or altered in a way that will annoy the hell out of me every time I see it.
