Video interviews with each Heisman Trophy winner will be unlocked throughout the season, detailing the achievements of their glory days. REACTION TIME

The new Reaction Time feature allows players to experience what it’s like on the field as a true Heisman Trophy-caliber athlete. Reaction Time literally slows down the action, allowing users to look for openings in defenses and perform skill moves to get into the open field, before smoothly transitioning back to regular speed. Gameplay has also been enhanced to include special teams and an updated playcall system.

I am a big fan on BAP modes. But, yeah last year was a fail.
I would be good for this year, if they add Custom Quarter Lengths and maybe drills, make Practices/Postion Battles tougher(slower progression), and improve playcalling.

But I do think Reaction Time is the main improvement for RTG this year.

"The experience of being a college football superstar is now even more exciting with a new feature in Road to Glory that allows players to see and feel the game differently during key moments, increasing on-field awareness and creating amazing opportunities."

"You can't put powdered sugar on a turd and call it a donut." I think EA disagrees. To me it seems their entire operation is run by salesmen and a marketing department, and not actual gamers. The way Ben is always pitching in his PR talk just does not come off as genuine--it has been that way for years now. I understand it, though. After all, they are trying to sell games; making a better product falls lower on the list of priorities than selling more copies.

Once the next generation of consoles comes out I'm very curious to see where this game goes. I wonder if they will ever update the game engine or do more for simulation football. These supplemental modes do seem like a complete waste of time, especially one that looks so poorly executed as this.

Attack Attack, here's a piece on it I found in the blog on the NCAA 13 home page and a screenshot of RG3 with his helmet off.

This is a monumental day for the NCAA Football franchise, because for the first time ever, you will get to play as real athletes in our game! Not only that, but you also get to play as the cover athlete, Robert Griffin III. And yes, they look exactly as they did during their Heisman year. We spent a lot of time re-creating the exact look and style of each Heisman Player, including the awesome hairstyle of 70s great Archie Griffin, the elbow pads of the legendary Barry Sanders, and the swelling muscles of Herschel Walker.

The more I read about this article, the more I think it is about trying to outdo what they were able to do and then getting the achievements and trophies for it. That is beyond what you could do with a CAP. I actually think this mode will be fun and challenging now and understand it a little more than I did at first. It's kind of like a tribute to the Heisman Winners of the past and then saying now go see if you can outperform these legends of the past.

Here's the link to the blog for those who want to read about it. http://www.easports.com/ncaa-footbal...lenge-dev-blog

I don't know if I will ever like "Reaction Time" probably not, but another thing I learned in the article is that the video interview questions were made by Christian McLeod, not just clips you could have gotten off of Youtube, like some have suggested.

So achievements and trophies make it better ? Besides when you going to have ratings BEYOND 99, it will be damn near impossible to NOT break their record. Most likely you will unlock all those achievements and trophies within half of the season.

gotmadskill.......I don't know about that I've used maxed out players playing sim ball and did not break a lot of records ......Also the bullet time thingy just don't use it......I don't see the problem here ......

1 thing I did like was this:
"Not only did we add in special teams and Reaction Time, we also tuned the heck out of the playcall system. No longer will you only get 5 carries as a RB, or 8 passes as a QB. You will get over 30 carries a game, and many more opportunities to pass as a QB. Not only that, but if you don’t like the play you are given, you have 20 chances a game to change that play into a pass or a run."

Hopefully this is in RTG as well and means they added Custom Quarter Lengths. Because getting 30 carries in 5 min quarters isnt realistic. That would be almost every snap

They mentioned some announcement for E3. I'm guessing it's this year's Teambuilder site going up. Have they mentioned anything about Teambuilder at all through this cycle of releasing info?

^no they haven't and I would very much like them to, but I think the community as whole wouldn't be happy if that turned out to be the big announcement

Also what's so great about adding elbow pads to Barry Sanders?

Barry Sanders in NCAA 13...I guess those are elbow pads

Barry Sanders in NCAA 11 with elbow pads

EA's Desmond Howard of NCAA 13

Desmond Howard of NCAA 11

Now I'm not knocking the Heisman Mode.....As you can see I love old school players.

I don't agree with the maxed out 100 overall ratings for every single guy.

But that's the least of my worries. My biggest fear is can EA represent these players on the field to actually do the things they did back when they played the game.

I don't wanna have to edit your own created Heisman Players EA to get them to show true tendencies.....

I posted these videos before and it will be very interesting to see if EA seperates these players from the regular players in the game in terms of playing style

I want to see their Herschel Walker do this in the game.

I want to see Barry Sanders react this way on the field

And Finally I want to see Desmond Howard actually have the ability to pull this off in a game EA

Give these players a true identity on the field this year EA.

I know it can be done because we've shown you video proof already for the last 3-4 years using the same ratings you use. If the Heisman players don't have a true identity i'm going to be really upset because unlike the default roster players you should be able to not only model these players correct in appearance but also give them correct tendencies on the field without a threat of lawsuits holding you back.

We are counting on you EA to step up your game this year ON THE FIELD!

Show us that our $60 bucks will be worth the price of admission for NCAA 13

This isn't the fix needed for RTG. The problem is that there is no life to the mode, 2K tried to fix this by adding a reason for salary (which obviously wouldn't transition to NCAA) and press conferences (which also wouldn't be the best transition but possible).

Some things they could add is maybe a weekly practice session that is a random minigame, anything from sprints, to bench press, to 7 on 7 or 11 on 11. The possibilities are endless, the everyday thing is too much though, once a week means the possibility is there, just mindless scrimmages though are pointless. The practice mode being the actual practice is lame.

Doing something with classes like they did with last generation so that you HAD to answer a few questions or something to bounce your GPA around, earning things like academic all-american could boost your awareness.

Make your stats improve on a usage basis instead of the stat boost packs that make it possible to be a 99 OVR freshman. If you throw deep alot your arm strength will improve, juke a lot? you'll get better at it. To give you a focal point to improve your player with in game performance, which ultimately retains control in the player.

Goals from your coach, this wouldn't mean (score 50 touchdowns) but could mean something small, if your a DT it could be something like dont be pancaked, fill the hole, intimidate the lineman, etc. Again a wide variety of possibilities.

It's a dry mode, it's not exciting, it's not fun, and adding a choice of character will only help drag out a dead mode for a little longer.

It's just boring. Sorry to complain about RTG in the heisman mode discussion but it's essentially a last ditch attempt to bring life to the mode (Yes I realize there are differences).

Originally, when I saw this mode, I thought they just wasted time creating 99 rated players and putting them on the field.

Now after watching the video, I realize JUST how much time and resources they have wasted on this mode. It seems collosal.

I'm speechless, and dissapointed with these gimmicks. Sorry for the rant.

I fully agree.

RTG needs more depth than anything else. I liked doing drills in last gen and the drills in NBA2k. Bringing back the drills would add alittle depth. I would like if they add the Mock Draft to RTG/
I actually didnt mind doing the tests Last Gen. I actually studied for it and kept a 4.0 avg in t he game.

But before they do anything, they HAVE to add Custom Quarter Lengths. I cant stand only playing 5 min quarters

I'd run naked through the cyber hallways of OS if that were the case. But yeah, most would probably greet that announcement with a resounding BOOOO, unless it was attached to more dynamic scheduling or included changing dynasty teams in and out even after you start your dynasty.

join the club man...join the friggin club..not only could we create these players by ourselves already but we could also create their whole teams from these eras if we wanted too..they didnt add any old-school equipment or uniforms so basically the only thing they did was use their "gameface", conducted a couple interviews, and called it a day..

the interviews alone must take up some disk space..i dont have a problem with wanting to educate on the history or careers of these players but why not put that on a seperate disk.. use that disk space for extended rosters...dynamic sidelines...white out/blackout crowd options etc..etc etc ..i could go on all day

Yes, but they should've taken that team and put the resources towards something useful that wasn't a gimmick.

Lol. Reaction Time is just plain stupid. "The game slowing down" for an athlete refers to being in the zone and feeling all that practice and hard work take shape on the field. Time does not literally slow down. In fact, this same "in the zone" feeling is already happening for those who play this game religiously; they're seeing and reacting to on-field events quicker than your average player.

The fact that the devs say that pressing a trigger to make time slow down replicates what top athletes see on the field truly makes me question how much athletics these guys were involved in in real life. It's seriously baffling. Just call it what it is; an arcade style feature implemented for the casual, majority crowd.

To in any way infer that Reaction Time is some sort of realistic take on top-tier athleticism is laughable.
