For the first time in franchise history, familiar faces are now on the field in NCAA Football 13, where fans can build a national powerhouse by placing one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners on the team of their choice for the upcoming NCAA season. Under center, in the backfield, or split wide, utilize a Legend’s skill set in the quest to win the Heisman Trophy. Video interviews with each Heisman Trophy winner will be unlocked throughout the season, detailing the achievements of their glory days. In addition, fans can truly test themselves by matching their Heisman Legend’s historical performance in one season, which will not only win the Heisman Trophy, but also unlock each player in Road to Glory.

Heisman Legends include:
  • Marcus Allen– 1981 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • Doug Flutie– 1984 Heisman Trophy recipient, Boston College
  • Eddie George– 1995 Heisman Trophy recipient, Ohio State University
  • Robert Griffin III– 2011 Heisman Trophy recipient, Baylor University
  • Desmond Howard– 1991 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Michigan
  • Carson Palmer– 2002 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • Barry Sanders– 1988 Heisman Trophy recipient, Oklahoma State University
  • Charlie Ward– 1993 Heisman Trophy recipient, Florida State University
  • Andre Ware– 1989 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Houston
  • Herschel Walker– 1982 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Georgia
The following DLC Heisman Legends are also available:
  • * Tim Brown – 1987 Heisman Trophy recipient, Notre Dame
  • * Archie Griffin – 1974 and 1975 Heisman Trophy recipient, Ohio State University
  • * Jim Plunkett – 1970 Heisman Trophy recipient, Stanford University
  • ** Mark Ingram – 2009 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Alabama
  • ** Matt Leinart – 2004 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • ** Tim Tebow – 2007 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Florida
* Available through the NCAA Football 13 demo download.

** Available through NCAA Football 13 pre-order from GameStop.

REACTION TIME

The new Reaction Time feature allows players to experience what it’s like on the field as a true Heisman Trophy-caliber athlete. Reaction Time literally slows down the action, allowing users to look for openings in defenses and perform skill moves to get into the open field, before smoothly transitioning back to regular speed. Gameplay has also been enhanced to include special teams and an updated playcall system.

I'm pretty sure they were all created by hand....

It's not a big deal for me because i've done it myself and trumped EA's offering with way more players created on my own.

But my point is until i see Desmond Howard return a punt or Barry Sanders juke a guy out of his jock this is all hype by EA.

IF THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT THAN DO IT RIGHT PLEASE!

I don't like the idea of having all these players rated 100 overall that is just dumb IMO. That tells me this is more of a marketing thing as opposed to really capturing the player on the field.

Who ever made that decision should be fired....turn the ratings and research over to someone who can be more flexible in capturing these players on the field without making them 100 overalls.

But this just goes to show how FLAWED the regular rosters are because they need the Heisman players to be rated higher than regular default roster players which means they probably have like 10-15 guys in the game at 99 overall.

I don't want to sound like a NEGATIVE NANCY....it's not my style and I love old school players as most posters on these forums already know.

But we can create these players on our own and provide the same type of player look and appearance.

I would rather EA just spend more time on the actual gameplay for once. The CPU OPION attack has been brutal for years how about spending the man hours to make sure that is finally fixed for once.

When did EA say that they didn't fix the CPU Option attack?

APF got that facemask perfect. Actually they got all the facemask I'm their games dead on.

Look at Ware...

His facemask in the game isn't even the sa,e type he wore in real life.

If they were going to do these guys they had to get the big shoulder pads and long jersey sleeves in.
Take your 2k sunglasses off and you will see the light

? To the people who say complaining about player models, equipment and socks is a waste of time.... Why? When you turn your TVs on Saturday to see your favorite team or just to watch a good college football game... You'd like to relive that experience that this game is supposed to provide... Right? Isn't EA's modo "It's in the Game"? EA, in particular NCAA, loves to brag about this game and what "they" think we want to see. In the meantime threads from fans on various forums say the exact opposite!*

Let's take an example of equipment from NCAA 12 *and Madden 12.*
Helmets
NCAA 12: *Revo speed 3 bar, Robot, and 3 bar LB that didn't even line up correctly!
Ion D helmets with A few extra facemasks. *
Still have the Riddell helmet with that ridiculous hump in the middle!

Madden 12: Everything!!!!
If a player wore it they had it!!!

Uniform degradation*
NCAA 12: Broken again on release and when it was supposedly fixed WHITE unis didn't get dirty.... WTF?

Madden 12: Actually made the effort to put real uni degradation from grass stains to freaking rubber pellet streaks from field turf.... Detail!!!

Player models
NCAA 12: Hasn't changed since 09 and freaking ankle socks haven't changed since its inception.*

Madden 12: With a brand new dev team and a very small window they revamped the look of the game! Was it perfect... No! But they payed attention to detail! I know 12 wasn't the first intro to various sock styles but the fact that they got it in because it's IN THE GAME says that they're paying attention to what matters.... The GAME!!!

Somewhere along the way NCAA forgot about the game and got consumed with fluff pieces like cheerleaders and mascots! If they were contractors that built homes they would come crashing down because they lack the foundation! People aren't unreasonable asking for little things like socks and equipment because it's IN THE GAME! It still looks like they don't have secondary colors to choose from... Tebow's got blue cleats! So sorry UF fans! Madden's had secondary colors since 09!!!*
Looks like we'll keep ranting and they'll keep ignoring us ... Ce la vie!

have you seen any videos with it working for the CPU?

until i see it working for once i'm going to assume it's broken like it has been in 10, 11 and 12.

Now if you show me a video of just the CPU exectuing the option on the field then maybe i'll change my stance.

I have been buying for years and still will...but...I could care less about this crap. How about making sure dynasty, player progression, online, online dynasty, and Coaching carousel work properly. That would make me happy

# 189 georgiafan @ 05/30/12 06:02 PM
Speaking of someone who loved the legends mode in NBA2K and bought the game for my brother just for the mode. I think there is a diffrence between NBA and college football bc everyone wants to play as Michael Jordon or Magic are someone like that. But someone from the south doesnt really care to play as Carson Palmer. Also like someone I can just create these guys and use them in RTG from last year and be close to what I'd get. Its a cool concept but isnt going to make me go buy the game.

NCAA 13 is more representative of College Football than APF ever was of the NFL, let's not even go there. If NCAA 13 had a license like Madden does they would have all the correct facemasks, equipment, etc... This is not a hard concept, no license, no 100% accurate portrayal of players.

Oh, so EA must include broken uniform/field degradation, ankle socks, and messed up facemasks in order to not be sued? I think I get it now.

I haven't seen any videos of the CPU doing anything on it's own in NCAA '13, so I can't say that it's fixed or not.

- That's my stance on the subject.

You can't say something like "it isn't fixed" on here or people believe that to be fact. Especially when it comes from someone like yourself.

You've been talking this whole time about why Ware and Walker don't look exactly 100% accurate, not what helmets and facemasks are or aren't in the game.

Does a players license have anything to do with equipment? Come on man!!! I think you need to pay attention to detail!

This was about why Walker and Ware weren't 100% accurate, not about EA's equipment or lack thereof

I give up, your whole rant was about NCAA 12 equipment and details vs Madden 12 equipment and details. The equipment is right in Madden because the developers have the license and have to focus more on what the players look like than they do in NCAA. Madden will ALWAYS have more accurate equipment and player models.

You're not going to change the minds of the equipment people. They will notice if the Nike swoosh is 3 inches too low on a jersey and complain about it in force.

Just give up.

Everyone calm down. Only warning before cards will be handed out.
