For the first time in franchise history, familiar faces are now on the field in NCAA Football 13, where fans can build a national powerhouse by placing one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners on the team of their choice for the upcoming NCAA season. Under center, in the backfield, or split wide, utilize a Legend’s skill set in the quest to win the Heisman Trophy. Video interviews with each Heisman Trophy winner will be unlocked throughout the season, detailing the achievements of their glory days. In addition, fans can truly test themselves by matching their Heisman Legend’s historical performance in one season, which will not only win the Heisman Trophy, but also unlock each player in Road to Glory.

Heisman Legends include:
  • Marcus Allen– 1981 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • Doug Flutie– 1984 Heisman Trophy recipient, Boston College
  • Eddie George– 1995 Heisman Trophy recipient, Ohio State University
  • Robert Griffin III– 2011 Heisman Trophy recipient, Baylor University
  • Desmond Howard– 1991 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Michigan
  • Carson Palmer– 2002 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • Barry Sanders– 1988 Heisman Trophy recipient, Oklahoma State University
  • Charlie Ward– 1993 Heisman Trophy recipient, Florida State University
  • Andre Ware– 1989 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Houston
  • Herschel Walker– 1982 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Georgia
The following DLC Heisman Legends are also available:
  • * Tim Brown – 1987 Heisman Trophy recipient, Notre Dame

  • ** Mark Ingram – 2009 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Alabama
  • ** Matt Leinart – 2004 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Southern California
  • ** Tim Tebow – 2007 Heisman Trophy recipient, University of Florida
* Available through the NCAA Football 13 demo download.

** Available through NCAA Football 13 pre-order from GameStop.

REACTION TIME

The new Reaction Time feature allows players to experience what it’s like on the field as a true Heisman Trophy-caliber athlete. Reaction Time literally slows down the action, allowing users to look for openings in defenses and perform skill moves to get into the open field, before smoothly transitioning back to regular speed. Gameplay has also been enhanced to include special teams and an updated playcall system.

Discuss.

I 100 percent disagree. This absolutely does happen. Im not an elite athlete either. But I can recall one game in particular during my playing days where I was "in the zone" and everything does feel like it slows down.

That being said, I suprisingly like the heisman mode and the reaction time HOWEVER, there is way too much reaction time. You gain it back way too quickly. It should restore every like 100 yrds/TD or something like that. or like once a series.

I'll be turning 30 in October thank you. I agree with what some people are saying the most frustrating part of this game mode is that they haven't improved more in core gameplay modes like expanding rosters in dynasty, new features for Online dynasty etc.. Had those things been in the game, I think people would be a little less bothered by this gimmicky feature.

I have not had a chance to watch the webcast yet, but one thing that has stuck out to me that I read was the line on the CPU calling more plays for the Heisman. Could this be pigtailed in better playcalling in other modes? Impact players?

This would have been better as a Madden Moments like system only with the Heisman winners and their classic games.

jp you hit the nail on the head bro...they (EA) should NOT be adding new game modes without first addressing EVERYTHING that needs to be fixed/corrected/improved/expanded with the existing features or game modes/gameplay

this is true too its like they have ADD and they never finish or "go all out" on any game mode...they are too quick to move on to the next "back of box" feature

I'm trying to figure out what audience EA is trying to capture with this mode. The young teen crowd probably doesn't give 2 effs about Herschel Walker or anybody outside of the last 3-4 years that were Heisman's. The older crowd is more concerned about a more realistic dynasty experience and we want improvements over the game that we felt was great back on the PS2 days. I seriously just don't get it anymore. Nobody even came close to asking for a mode like this. I can probably bet that this was never in any wishlist threads either.

This is why I am impressed by what Madden 13 is doing. They aren't even announcing anything about Madden Social(probably the most "gimmicky" element of Madden) until they have announced everything else dealing with gameplay and career modes.

I mean there could be at least 3 or 4 MAJOR announcements dealing with gameplay and franchise/online franchise, superstar mode next week, and Madden has already released some pretty impressive stuff.

Barry seems to run just like any other RB in the NCAA game...I'm disappointed that they did not highlight his juking ability which is legendary for making many miss tackles...#sigh

The least they could have done was shown off the mode with someone who doesn't suck at the game. Wowza, what a cheeze fest. Luckily, his sucking resulted in INTs. I want that guy's job!

I think some guys need to step back and relax. You say why didnt they spend this time editing gameplay? Well they did improve gameplay. You guys are too busy harping on things they HAVE to add to the game to keep it ever evolving and changing between installments.

I dont like that the visuals of the game are identical to 12, and the lack of improvement to the coaching carousel. Other than that I'm pretty excited for the game to check out the gameplay improvements.

I have no interest in this mode. Doesnt mean I'll condemn the studio for adding it. Jeez guys.

This is pointless. It's create a player with a limited selection. No special moves, no special uniforms or stadiums, just a faceless robot with a name you recognize on its jersey.

Those of us that have been interested in playing with legendary players have been creating them and playing with them for years. I've run for many yards with Tommie Frazier at quarterback leading my Huskers to the promise land. Heck, I usually edit my incoming recruits about 10 years into dynasty to be the "son" of legendary Nebraska players.

Oh well, if they're proud of themselves and it sells them a few more copies, good for them.

Hey, if you asked your woman for a steak and she comes back with a bologna sandwich, you'd be pissed too.

And if all people did was heap praise on the game itself would never improve. It's a discussion there should be two sides. If all you want is sunshine and roses hit up the gaming tailgate.

I haven't read all the post or watched the video due to the fact im at work butttttttttt

Sooo depending on who you choose you will be taken to that era and play with the roster of that era or the roster from the 2012-2013 roster?

If its the latter then I will never give this game mode a glance
