Just watched again to see the wr facemask...I don't think it is the Barkley qb mask. It looks like it has to bars on the bottom instead of just the 1.

That game (06) was the best hands down IMO.

They had the crazy IMPACT PLAYERS who would glow or something but other than that the game itself was freakin awesome on the field.

The Players had life when they ran around on the field.

Please everyone do not display this mindset;this is why ea dosen't step up there game ,"WHY;because we have guys like this who don't care about the quality of the game there getting.

there are 36 pages in this thread and i would say about 33 or 34 of those pages are solidly dedicated to people who are genuinely upset at what they are seeing so far , and every one of them have a justifyable beef with the lack of noticeable improvements made to NCAA 13 (besides the ticker and game updates)

i hope the right guys from EA are paying attention to this thread more than any other on this board for ncaa football...maybe....just MAYBE ..this is a wake up call for them

Can someone tell me why NCAA 2004 was a great game? I never had a chance to play 2004 all that much as 06 was my first love. I keep hearing 06 and 04 were the two best of the series. Any detail on 2004 would be great, thanks.

I think this game may be more of a "play it to see the adjustments" type of game. Just saying, you can't really show pass trajectory. Obviously the graphics are going to be the same as they were good in NCAA 12. I don't know what people expected, to be honest.

That's not true. If you've been following the lawsuit against EA by the former NCAA players who are butt-hurt about their "likeness" being in the game, a lawsuit that EA could very well lose, then it is very possible in the near future - like w/ in 2-3 years - that we will no longer have an NCAA game made by anyone.

I just watched this video from NCAA 06......WOW Then went back and watched the one on the front page....................

Stadium pulse was awesome. I wish they'd bring it back.

# 330 WazzuRC @ 05/21/12 01:16 PM
I miss Stadium Pulse. Loved that feature.

The gameplay video posted did nothing to excite me. AT ALL. I really liked the improvements I've read about so far, but the product on the field still looks stale as hell.

# 331 NealN42 @ 05/21/12 02:23 PM
Wow...it was certainly difficult to notice any sort of improvements made while watching that video. The ESPN in game update wasn't bad, but all of the actual on field gameplay looked nearly identical to 12. Don't think I'm buying this year...

You guys are all pretty amusing.

NCAA12 comes out, you all say "OMG WORST GAME EVER I'M NOT BUYING 13 NO MATTER WHAT"

NCAA13 news comes out, you all say "WOW I GUESS I SHOULD BUY IT"

NCAA13 2 min preview most likely on varsity difficulty, not even a finished product comes out and you all say "OMG WORST GAME EVER I'M NOT BUYING"

You guys have more mood swings than a bi-polar chick.

This vid led me to another game posted on YouTube from NCAA 06 (it was a guy playing Kansas at K-State) and i saw some things i forgot about that i want back in this gen. There was a punt block by the CPU...read that again. A. Punt. Block. As well as a KO return, and the Punt returns had great blocking/return lanes. Secondly, the CPU QB scrambled to daylight/for a long TD. And not just scrambling right either. Pass rush was sweet also.

man, i didn't remember about that stuff happened in the last gen games and i'm adding these to my personal next gen wishlist. Those special teams plays makes me miss how much it mattered back then.

I really think outside of the Line play and movement, the special teams should be really what we ask for changes. Those should be the top three things.

You made me go look at some more videos of NCAA 06.

I can't believe after 6 years the current gen games still don't have the crowd excitment of the older games.

I can't believe that the players from 6 years ago stood out better than the players we get today on the field.

IMPACT Players were truly IMPACT Players in NCAA 06. No ratings needed to be edited for that to happen. No patches were needed to make it a top notch game right out of the box.

We didn't have to put dynasty's on hold just so that EA could fix something after they released the game and took our money.

If that game could have ever been ported over to the XBOX 360 i might very well be still be playing it today.

I finally got around to watching the clip and here is what I got from it and from the comments.

Graphically it does look the same but who really expected the game to look much differently? I for one could care less about newer graphics if they gameplay is better.

As far as commentary sounded, it looks like for the third straight year I'll be turning off commentary. Rece Davis sounded robotic but like one poster said, "at least he sounded DYNAMIC." Corso and Herbie sound the same as they always do, boring, boring, and boring.

One thing that still bugs me like crazy is equipment. Again, we see players using facemasks that no one ever uses, players running around in ankle socks, and baggy jerseys hanging off players arms instead of the majority of players using the tighter jerseys under the shoulder pads. Looks like equipment is going to be a nightmare for us roster makers again... Ugh!

I think EA needs to drop Part 3 of this video quickly! #DamageControl

# 339 mshoop3 @ 05/22/12 02:22 PM
I like also how there is no rocket catching actually good user catching and you can throw a true fade route and go route.

I've said this a few times, but I challenge the NCAA dev team to take some time, dust off the last gen consoles and pop in NCAA 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. Get the note pad out and record everything that made those games feel and play like college football. Take notice of all the little things that got most of us hooked on this series. Get back to the basics and fundamentals of football.

+ Realistic Player Models
+ Proportionate field
+ Limited Suction
+ Momentum when running/ No skating
+ Proportionate football
+ Better replay angles
+ Correct school colors
+ Better out of the box player ratings
+ Crowd noise
+ Dynamic plays
+ Running animations
+ No CPU speed cheats
+ Player control and movements
+ 1-AA/FCS teams

I could go on and on, but I urge someone at EA to take a look at what got this game on the map. For once consider your hardcore gamers and passionate fanbase. Lets get this game back to the level it is capable of!!!
