Like every year, I am optimistic. For me personally, the biggest problem with the offensive passing game was that you really had no true touch control on the pass. You could lob it or drill it, but you were never really able to throw it over a linebacker and under a DB or over a DB and under a safety. There were times when you could make it work, but it never felt like I was able to control the arch of the ball. I am hoping this new "system" takes care of that.

The one thing that worries me is that they didn't mention the coaching carousel in the dynasty blog description. I was glad to see this feature made it in last year, but it was really a shell of the feature most of us envisioned. I want a deeper rating system for coaches and I want it to matter what coordinators I hire as a head coach. If my last coordinator and I ran a spread passing offense and I let him go, I shouldn't be able to just the best available coordinator if he runs a totally different offense and pick up where I left off. Coordinators should matter. It should be hard to hold onto a good coordinator . I think there should be some kind of popularity rating as well. A coordinator doesn't have to be great to be a hot commodity. How many hot OC or DC went on to take a head coaching job and fail?

After nearly a decade, I have finally learned my lesson. I could care less what "new innovative features" they have... I will not be buying the game until several months after its released (if at all) due to their track record of releasing the game full of bugs that a 5 yr old could spot.

I do hope this year is finnaly different, because I do still enjoy the series.

Intrigued by the enhanced audio. Expecting a Heisman presentation. Good stuff here even if it's expected

Read & React Defensive AI system is huge, could be a gamechanger. Passing system will be interesting, need to be able to throw touch passes etc without complicating it to the point of MLB 2K's controls. Will be interesting to see how they implement it.

Other than gameplay, this is still the core of the game to me. Interested to see how scouting & grades are implemented. Hope you can hire/fire coordinators and that Coaches have a more complex rating system. Also very high on my wishlist: 85 man rosters (or even 77 man rosters or something close). Being able to redshirt and develop a player for 2-3 years before he has to play is a huge part of college football and difficult to do while being competitive in NCAA.

I know why this is in here, NBA 2K & NHL - but those games had phenomenal gameplay and dynasty/association modes already in place. NCAA still has tons of room to improve on those areas so it seems like a waste of dev time & disc space to put this in here. Hopefully more of a marketing gimmick than something that took a lot of development time or space. I hope it's basically just RTG w/ a pre-loaded player without a lot of time spent on this mode. Might be fun to try, but I won't be playing this 5 months from release like dynasty.

Admittedly, I don't play this mode a lot. RTG was a big focus last year so I'm not surprised to see there isn't a lot mentioned here. Sounds like a new camera angle and that's about it.

Overall, there are definitely some things that are intriguing here. Looking forward to hearing more details about each of these items. It sounds like they made some important changes in regards to gameplay and recruiting, but the addition of the Heisman thing has me a little bit concerned that time was spent on a feature that no one was really asking for. Looking forward to more information (and a screenshot)

Hesitantly optimistic.
Sounds good and everything but I swear... if this ends up being in adding 10 more team specific entrances and whatnot, i'm not going to be happy :/ haha.

# 86 huskerwr38 @ 03/13/12 05:34 AM
I really think they just need to give up on Road to Glory. The mode is executed very poorly and it's just a waste of resources.

I am VERY intrigued by the new passing system and I can't wait until I see it in action.

I really hope they revamped recruiting cause it is just VERY boring, stale, and not very realistic at all. It's just a chore really.

# 87 chen_sc @ 03/13/12 06:39 AM
adding new entrances every year is crap. instead, they could use this memory for improving the gameplay, graphics and presentation.
we watch the entrance for about 15-20 seconds and then, after few games, we just skip it.
most of the time we spend on playing the actual game- and that includes the gameplay, the presentation and of course, the visuals.

I've done a little thinking and reflecting on the "new recruiting features." Here's the thing; recruiting is already quite time consuming. Don't get me wrong, it's my favorite part of the game, but it takes a while. In years past, everything was scouted for us (if you just went to look at the letter grades). I can honestly say I didn't do that a lot. I'd just recruit by stars because that was a pretty good gauge. Is it going to take more time now that we have to scout in addition to recruiting? Or is the recruiting system going to be revamped a la something from NCAA 2000 (PS1 days)? Very interesting to say the least. I'm hoping for the latter because my time to play this game is limited the older I get.

For methe game needed a BIG TIME overhaul to be where they should be at this point. (physics, player interactions, ball physics and terjectory, better line play, recievers and dbs actually looking for the ball) Non of which I'm getting from this new info. Won't buy another EA Sports game till next gen consoles. And even then who knows.

# 90 chops44 @ 03/13/12 10:30 AM
This is the first time in 18 years NCAA isn't a day 1 purchase for me.
Last year's game was a f-ing tragedy.
If the user reviews are solid three weeks in, I'll purchase.

# 91 jWILL253 @ 03/13/12 10:39 AM
That's a very vague feature set. There has to be more, unless EA is pulling an MLB 2K12-type move on us...

# 92 gogators @ 03/13/12 10:46 AM
I'll admit these features sound nice, but there has to be more announced or seen from the community before I buy. Passing game (announced), physics, CPU Def AI, CPU clock management (or accelerated clock), penalties, sliders that work, recruiting, presentation (announced). FIX THE BUGS AND GAMEPLAY FIRST, then I'll think about it. I WANT MY GAME BACK!!

I don't care how much money EA has spent making the game, it's not my job to keep them in business, that's their job. My only concern is to get a good/full game experience for the $60 price tag. If they put out a good product I'll buy... but the last few years have been a joke.

Teambuilder needs a huge overhaul, hopefully it is a un mentioned feature at this point.

The last time we were told an overhaul to passing was.... ?

I'm optimistic and hopeful. And I think a lot of guys share my point of view on this. I think people need to understand something: when guys like me say "this looks good," that doesn't translate into "ZOMG BEST EVAR RIGHT NAO!" It means "from what can be seen, this is the right path."

I don't think too many people here are blindly ready to claim NCAA 13 as awesome based on what was said.

I don't really care for the legends mode. I mean it's a nice thing to have and I can see why SOME people may want to dive into that, but I'm betting the majority of people won't really care for it or play it ever. Hopefully the gameplay and presentation are solid this year as well as a nice upgrade to dynasty and RTG.

# 97 Wavebird99 @ 03/13/12 12:40 PM
new passing system sounds interesting... it'd be nice to see the corners and wideouts actually play the ball in the air realistically and stuff

# 98 shanew21 @ 03/13/12 12:45 PM
It answers just about every big request that's been asked of the team. New passing system means probably better trajectory on passes, read and react AI probably eliminates psychic defenders, new commentary is a plus, recruit scouting is great (hopefully we get some busts and surprises now), studio updates mid game (everybody asked for this or at least something close), and enhanced audio means better crowds I would think.

I'll wait for the actual news to break before I judge anything, but at least they're moving in the right direction, and the one that the community has been asking for.

# 99 pirates946 @ 03/13/12 12:45 PM
Hopefully the crowd is way louder than last year (they said louder crowd too last year) and I hope this "read and react" defense, means that my defenders dont keep dropping back in coverage when they see my QB scramble.

# 100 barsoffury @ 03/13/12 12:49 PM
All these additions/changes seem to vague to really guess what exactly is coming but I'm encouraged.
