You have to play all your games no siming or letting the cpu do it for you.

I figured it's either an NDA item (still likely) or I must be in the ignore list of A LOT of people around here, haha.

But if Knight looks forward to the mode it might be possible to play that way... I just guessed. I may play using CPU as well if online has various issues. In franchise type of mode I like to have player ratings to have a bit more influence than my skills do.

EDIT: Thanks Ramone for clarification.

I would have been more interested if it had a MoM. I, like you, feel better about the players hitting for themselves, as opposed to me making them look bad

Any word on when some new gameplay video is coming out?

# 207 DamnYanks2 @ 02/08/12 08:14 PM
There's an impressive list of features here no doubt. but I have 11 and I'll probably pass on this.

I'm wondering how they went about preventing 1st inning quits. I didn't play online last year, it's more of a curiosity, since there's quite a few different routes they could have taken.

It just meant when you quit during the 1st inning, nothing was kept in the record in 11. It only mattered if you cared about your W/L records, online ranking and such.

The pro was that you could use the 1st inning to probe how good/bad the connection was. The con was that once you started losing, you could simply quit out without leaving any trace; many people used the feature to avoid playing the opponents who apparently were better.

I'm pretty sure the whole point of the first inning quit (from a dev perspective) was to allow a bail out of a game if you could tell the connection to your peer was crap. With dedicated servers there will probably be less of that so they could afford to take out that safety net and remove the possibility of people quitting because they fell behind in the 1st.

Of course, it all depends on how much the dedicated servers will actually help...

Upon reflection, 1st inning quit wasn't really necessary since you could always agree to "friendly quit" which didn't leave any record either.

If both sides can agree the connection is bad enough not to proceed, then that would be the best way to bail out rather than making the 1st inning pretty much meaningless.

Hmm, if only there was solid gameplay behind all of these new, back-of-the-box features. Wait, there is solid gameplay? The best in the sports-game business, you say? Well, then...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I gotta say, very impressive fact-sheet list. Looks like 12 will make a bigger leap over last years version than 11 did to 10 and 10 to 09. And the fact that I don't really care about the first 3 (key) features makes it even more awesome (Vita, cross platform saves and move), that's why I think 2013 will be even better with more focus on different things. DD sounds interesting, I am curious to find out. I have never played this (or similar) mode in FIFA, because I don't like buying things like player-cards, but obviously money isn't recquired to have fun with DD. And even if I have no interest in playing human-players, it's a great option that I can only battle CPU-teams. Let's hope the demo comes out quick, I already know how awesome the Show is, but I want to find out about the ball-phsyics (probably the best feature this year) before the retail version hits the stores.

Someone noticed, almost didn't include it on the list. I hope you guys like what Woodweaver did there is now a risk vs. reward aspect to always filling up the throw power meter when it's un-neccesarry or the fielder has suspect arm accuracy.

Any light you can shed on Canadian eligibility in Challenge of the Week, Russell?

LOL. I knew it. Diamond Dynasty is nothing more than MUT. "Never been seen before!", "Revolutionary", blah, blah, blah.
The mode sounds cool but I'm growing tired of all these developers touting something as new and innovative when several companies have done the exact thing in the past.

I hope they expand on the online franchise stuff. Can I run a Franchise against another friend, or friends, online; where we all draft, trade and manage a roster for several seasons against one another?

I didn't know you could create custom teams, custom uniforms, and sign dynasty players over MLB players in MUT...

Look, they have to sell the game, and from the information that we have so far it looks to be revolutionary. It's never been done in a baseball game in the past, and it looks to have a lot of differences from any other card based mode. Heck, we don't even know what it's all going to entail, so maybe you should relax on these statements.
