Also, haven't seen an answer to this: Can Diamond Dynasty be played with friends?

Challenge of the week in it's first year gave people an opportunity to win over 25k in cash and prizes. The winner of a free all expenses paid trip to the World Series spent a total of 50 dollars. The winner of the All-Star game trip spent 70 dollars. Each winner received tremendous value for their dollar.

Next thing you'll be telling me is that I don't get all the fancy upgrades on my new car for the base price.

no mention of added records. I'd just like it to be expanded on, I'd like to know if I broke the record for doubles in a season, or a consecutive shutout innings record. I would of also like to see Game records added too, like home runs in a game and things like that....

Like Bahnzo, I am strongly against paying for DLC or any other add-ons. However, I see no issue with paying for COTW, considering the prizes and the whole concept of the game. You aren't paying for the right to play, you are paying for prize eligibility. There was nothing in COTW that you couldn't recreate offline and play for free.

So will the COTW still involve all those fancy prizes to be won this year? I guess not, since it will be free....

Not that I play the mode beyond the free portion since I'm not interested in winning anything... But in 11 it was basically kinda like lottery, where you garner a small payments from a large number of people and re-distribute it to a much smaller number of winning people as "big" prizes (while the company making some money). It's a reasonable business model...

My problem is that the game sells in Canada, this year has a specific Canadian cover, there is a MLB team in Canada, Canadian players in the MLB, and yet Canadians like myself can't win prizes. I understand perhaps the lottery-like aspect when it was a pay to play, but now that Challenge of the Week is free, the continued ineligibility is extremely disappointing.

With the addition of over 500 all new presentation animations, does anybody know what that brings the total amount of presentation animations to?
Hell I don't think their is much more then 500 now.
The little things thread should be of the charts this year.

It is Canadian laws that prevent it and make it a complex issue.

Not the developers fault.

You can actually play COTW even in Canada I believe. I'm not sure if you have to have your PSN account associated with US, but you can always create a new one, you know... but you probably are right in that you are not eligible if you win anything......

All these times you get banned, you still repeat the same point that has been thoroughly discussed before? The devs will implement them when the time is ripe....

That's great, but it was paid for by all the other people who didn't win. I don't mean to make it seem like you guys are greedy, but CotW did seem like an arcade game that I paid for, only to find out that it cost me a quarter to play it each time.

But I'm glad it's free this year, it's a fun mode that I wanted to play more of but just couldn't justify spending more $$$ for it. You guys don't need prizes or gimmicks to sell your product. Leave that to the "other game".

And I'm still wondering if Diamond Dynasty is playable with friends?

Fine, I get your metaphor.

What about Diamond Dynasty? Please don't tell me we can't play it against our friends because a handful of people will abuse it for ranking.

You can play it against the CPU or Human opponents.

I think Bahnzo wants to know if you can only play DD games with your PSN/SC friends, not just some random online gamers.

The reason why this matters I guess is that many online players are out there to win doing whatever they can... often exploiting "glitches" (taking an extra base on a sac bunt, constant early steals, deliberate HBPs to make you quit) that prevent people from playing "sim-style" baseball.

The best online experience comes when you play against people whom you can trust (in your friend list or leagues under set rules), and unfortunately the chances are small that you see them if your only option is "Play Now" or some random encounter in the lobbies. Random online people don't have to be nice to others, since nothing is at stake.

Aaahh, I do not believe you are forced to play against anyone you do not want to play. Additionally, I recall Ramone mentioning in another thread that you can play just against the CPU if that's your poison.

Why not come out and say that "No, you cannot play against people in your friend's list"? I'm looking to find a picture of someone "beating around the bush".

I realize that nobody wants to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd respect your honesty a lot more than skirting the answer and the truth.

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about? I answered nomo as clearly as I could...you can play any opponent you want...including just the CPU...you are not forced to play anyone (meaning anyone NOT on your friends list).

If this does not sound like the answer you want, I am sorry...and that's the truth.

Maybe, PM Ramone....?

No you can't single out your friends to play them. The que doesn't work like that. However if you and your buddy are in the same division and you hit the que at the same time then it's likely could be matched up against him.
