I really really like this game.

But I have two issues...

1. Two many shots on goal...Seems like everyone can turn and put it on goal from 30 yards. In previous games more shots were off target.

2. The fouls are absurd. When you play online it feels like a rugby game at times. They need to turn the fouls.

Other than that I really love this game.

Looks like shots from outside the box have replaced crosses as the go-to method for scoring goals. They really need to tone them down because they go in WAY too easy and often.

Yeah, I think a problem is that it's extremely easy to get a shot off by just turning and shooting.

Grabbed this after work yesterday on the 360. I probably played about 9 games in total yesterday before going to sleep. It really took me a while to get the hang of the new defense. I spent the first game or two just working on my individual player before I started working on using the player assist and working on team defense.

By the 5th or 6th game or so I really felt like I had it down pretty well and was really able to control the flow of play and shut down my opponents in the box. I felt like I was able to push the play where I wanted and to shut down the other teams ability to move the ball how they wanted to in front of my goal.

Watching the other teams pass the ball around in the midfield to keep it away from me and to set up their play is great. It really does seem much more developed than last years game.

Fortunately there are sliders to remedy these issues.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can use sliders online, can you?
90% of my playing is online Virtual Pro stuff, so I don't think sliders will remedy anything.

Sorry, yeah, no sliders for online.

Another factor with the lack of fouls is the lack of opportunities for free kicks. No yellow cards, no red cards affects substitutions, as well.

In spite of this, I am really enjoying the challenge of FIFA 12. It is the most difficult game I've ever run across. I won't complain about the change to the defensive controls. I don't think it's a bad thing to try to reinvent the game. I spent my first few games yesterday trying to get a hang of the new controls, and the difference of gameplay. It took away from my offense to be so preoccupied with the defensive end. You really have to focus on positioning and timing, rather than just setting out to steal the ball, as in past years.

Once you get over the mental hurdle of the defense changes you can start to rethink the offense. I love the need for possession, the need for a proper buildup, rather than the long ball, going over the top, depending too much on the sprint button, and the ever popular cross into the box. Changing the attack makes the game more interesting and challenging.

It's too early to tell if FIFA 12 is too hard. Will the challenges turn to frustration? One way to avoid that is to drop the difficulty level and the game speed. It will be interesting to see what the comments on the forum are in a months or so. A patch might make this the perfect sports game.

No fouls is a gamebreaker, hoping for a patch.

in the 13 games i've played online i've actually had 2 penalty shots and a couple of yellow cards but they do need to bump it up.

I wish to delete my old creation centre teams from FIFA 11, but can't seem to do so; how do I go about it. I want to have an empty slate.

Thanks.

No fouls and being able to pack pass to your keeper and he'll catch is pretty sad, this game is turning into the Hangover movie......well maybe not that extreme but its the little things that count and FIFA misses the mark on quite of few of them for me.

Yup, I'm with ya, man. The game play is really good with sliders, but the beautiful game is not being represented. Shame.

Are you serious? The keeper will pick up the ball on pass played back to him?

I havent seen that one yet. I've made back passes and the keeper takes a touch, not going for the catch.

Am crazy or is the offline gameplay very laggy tonight. It's almost like the frames per second has dropped? I installed on my 360 hd last night.

I have the PS3 version and had a game where one of my players was invisible.

I back pass to the keeper very often and also have never seen this. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I think it should be known that it doesn't seem common and it shouldn't stop someone from enjoying the game.
