I can't believe more people aren't pissed about the demo features. I love the gameplay improvements, but I don't feel like I'm getting a feel for how the final game will be by just playing one 4 minute quarter on an easy difficulty setting.

Yeah after playing some more, I think the Dunk sounds need to go back to the way they were. Maybe they are more realistic now, but this is part of the game I rather be arcadey and add extra emphasis.

this is by far the most realistic video game basketball i've witnessed...i have yet to see any WTF moments or head-scratchers...haven't seen any weird physics or anything that limiting me. when i score, it's because i did something right, and when something bad happens, it's because i did something wrong...this game does not hold your hand or baby you...it pummels you in the face for every mistake you make...excellent. the AI opponent is relentless..it attacks any opening in the blink of an eye.

EVERYTHING that happens looks and feels appropriate for the situation...something you couldn't quite say about 2k11.

Even if the demo was 4 quarters you still would not get that feeling the demo is an old build.

Pros : Game feels weighted. Feels like you cant go where you wanna go at any point, and I like that.
Player models are on point. Bosh is very ugly.
Mismatches : This game does take mismatches pretty seriously
The Pre Game warmup was amazing!
Changing layups in mid air is amazing too !
Cons: As for a Demo, its sucks that its so dry, but like Pared said... I rather the demo to be dry, not the game (not exact words)
Injuries Animation: Where everyone stops to look at a guys twisted ankle is a no no for me.
Def 3 Second. The game freezes. Pretty sure this will only be in the demo though.

Overall, I enjoy the demo, and I feel it is a great improvement from 2k11.
Actually the this bug will be in the final release version of the game. The game will freeze everytime there's a 3 second call- but only in the copy that YOU personally buy.

played a few games on ps3, and a few on xbox. the ps3 version definetly looks improved graphically from past years. Last year there were alot of jaggies, this year i didn't see any. Both run buttery 60fps smoothe. The only difference is that the xbox has brighter colors. At a glance you might say its better, but personally i prefer the color pallette of the ps3 version, it just looks more realistic, where the xbox version looks sort of cartoony because of the bright colors. Last year i said if they bring the ps3 version graphically to the level of xbox and keep the color pallette, it would be the best looking one for me, looks like 2k might have done that this year. either way i don't think ps3 players have much to worry about this year.

2k demos have always been this way, no announcers, no playcalling, short quarters. i agree though, if they released a demo that had all features, they might get some more copies sold. It feels like 2k releases demo's to please the hardcore guys on these forums, who are buying this day one no questions asked. If they put out a full feature demo, they might get some casual b ball fans to buy the game.

Actually, the ps3 version will explode after 10 mins of play. So, make sure you only play for 9 mins at a time, then turn off your ps3, wait 10 sec, turn back on, play for another 9 mins, repeat.

Yeah, and the biggest problem is not being able to adjust the difficulty. It's hard to force yourself to play real ball when every jumpshot is a swish.

what are you adding with these replies? theres some ps3 guys that want to get actaul opinion from people who have both consoles

CPU AI is so life-like and intelligent...i love how the CPU now shows RESTRAINT. it doesn't just pull up for bad jumpers because it wants to shoot...now it will hang back and keep probing for an opening.

scoring in the paint is not easy...dunks are much more rare now...if there are defenders in the paint, you're probably going to get a contact layup, not an exaggerated dunk on animation.

i have the ps3, and i just wanted to ask. Mike said in the control blog, that we will be able to backpadel and try and steal the ball at the same time, but i just played the demo 3 times and tried to do it and the steals are still the same. Is it because this is not the final game shipping or is this going to be the same as last year?

The anticipation sound from the crowd during a shot isn't in ps3 version. In general, crowd sounds better imo in 360 and more realistic...ps3 crowd sounds a bit over the top.

Id like to know this too. Specifically the Double Shimmy. The controls say: While posted up quickly move the RS to the player's left or right, to the opposite side, then back again.

When I do this I get the up and under.
