I wish they would release less ****ty demos though. No plays, no camera angles, 4 minutes of play with 1 team....

Man, the Draft Combine was so much more well made than these last few demos.

I almost nutted when i saw my first outlet pass. They are fantastic looking. It was a mad scramble for the ball and Fernandez had leaked out. Kidd got the ball and quickly just threw it ahead. The pass wasn't perfect it stopped at Rudys feet, he picked it up and got the dunk. It was amazing

Pros -

1. Intro is pretty sweet
2. No more hunchback, although didn't see any type of walkup animation
3. Overall graphics seem improved
4. Sig shots are much more realistic

Cons -

1. Lebron's face seems off to me, possibly worse than 2k11. On the flip side though, Wade, Bosh, and the entire Mavs team all look improved in this area.
2. Only being able to control the Mavs is just an odd choice by 2k. Every single other sports game demo allows you to play as at LEAST 2 teams.
3. No playcalling whatsoever? Really?
4. The crowd seems virtually identical to 2k11
5. I'm still wondering why 2k forces your player into a defensive stance nearly at all times on D unless your holding turbo. Seriously whats the point of that?

I am loving the new hot sign indicator

I haven't made a os username until now because I would always just be reading about 2k and madden.
I woke up and read the demo had went up and proceeded to freak out. I have been playing since 2k7 and this game Is the definition of incredible, amazing, life like, and so smooth. D wade stole a deep pass and threw it down windmill reverse...it did the super slow mo cam and it was over for me. Dirk is literally breathing his style onto the game. Don't quit playing...cause I won't

Demo impressions :

- Walk up animation is in the demo but its nothing like it was in 2k9. Hopefully this is just because its the demo. In 2k9 you could walk the ball up but the player still did some type of dribble animation.

- Lebron is almost too good. I know he's rated 98 but damn.

- Jumpshots are silky smooth. Dirk is going to be a joy to play with.

- I scored about 9 consecutive points with Butler, a 3, 2 jumpers and 2 fts. As a result he got hot. There is actually a on fire icon that shows up next to the player this year. Last year the player bars got hot, this year, the fire icon pops up. Interestingly enough, it stays on even when your guy is on defense.

- I am going to live in practice mode this year. Its going to take a while to get used to the new dribble moves and the post game. I did this one move with dirk where I pressed Y at the 3 point line. He had Bosh guarding him. There is a move where you can jab step while in the post position. I jabbed stepped then spun to the other side for a turn around fade-away 3 - which Dirk swished of course.

i personally hate the 2k cam view, it just sucks in my opinion... i prefer broadcast with the height and zoom adjusted, looks more realistic to me... but thats just what i prefer... it is easier to do isomotion on 2k cam though, just don't like it.. but to each its own.

I hope you guys no this is the early built back when they showed this at gamer com in august this why something are missing out.

P.S. Dirk is a monster on the court he can dominate why better on NBA 2k12 then NBA 2k11

LeBron actually plays like himself, a lot of drive and kicks, it's nice to see.

Czar any work around for playcalling like last years demo?

# 217 CX1329 @ 09/20/11 12:30 PM
I saw Kidd asking for the ball after Dirk grabbed a rebound. I don't know if this was in 2K11, but it's a very nice touch.

The ai has active hands in the passing lanes, you can't just make dumb passes all the time.

You can actually get a breakaway now, no more super speed cpu defense catch up. I had a complete 1 on nobody with Dirk. That would never happen in 2K11.

The cpu had some awesome quick ball movement for a wide open 3 against me.

Lebron actually used a pump fake.

The jumpers are so pretty and smooth now. Lebron's and Dirk's are real pretty.

The layups seem better for some reason.

The controls seem a lot tighter.

A bunch of other good stuff that I already forgot about.

This is probably a small thing to a very large portion of users, but the fact they resized the score overlay is a huge addition to me. I still operate on a standard television and in 2K11, the overlay was so small it was nearly impossible to get a clear reading on time remaining in the quarter and sometimes the score. Even when I played on an HD TV in 2K11, the overlay was at least crisp, but still kind of small. I am very thankful to see it return back to normal.

Also, I've had a positive experience with off-the-ball defense early on. Controlling Jason Kidd (guarding Mario Chalmers) while LeBron James dribbled one pass away, I felt in control of my deny defense (by utilizing the right stick). Last year, off-the-ball right stick use on defense seemed to either tie up your man or allow you to get blown by. I definitely like the "light deny" control aspect in 2K12 thus far.
