I would do so many things to have NCAA Footballs development team be like this development team. Unbelievable job Mike Wang with the things you guys have put into this game. Im really not even that big of an NBA fan (more of a football fan than anything) but this game is making me like/appreciate the NBA in ways I neer thought I would. I often find myself watching highlight tapes of guys like Rose and Melo and find myself trying to pull off moves in the game that they do in their highlight tapes, and it seems like every year the moves we can pull off in the game go up exponentially.

Unbelievable job, keep doing what you guys do best (seriously, you guys are the best)

I wish everybody a happy 2K day tomorrow. 2K basketball seems to be Mike Wang's entire career. With such dedicated devs, it's no wonder the series continues to improve.

"Another area of focus for us this year was the AI’s (artificial intelligence) usage of shots. In the past, we admittedly haven’t spent enough time adequately equipping the AI with all the same weapons that are available to the user. They would often play a shot randomly, not really looking at the difference between a straight up jumper or one that would create space. This is greatly improved in NBA2K12. The AI is much better at recognizing driving opportunities and, based on the particular player’s tendencies, will now utilize the full suite of shots available in the game.

There have been a lot of instances watching different people play the AI this year in which I felt the AI played smarter, and took better shots than the human. There’s nothing better than watching an AI ball handler take me off the drive, start a spin jumper, pump fake to get me into the air, and then step through for an uncontested floater. It’s a thing of beauty and I don’t even feel bad when I get schooled."

Hopefully this means AI plays better in MP.

You do know that ronnie didn't/isnt making the trailer himself? He could have waited to release the insight till the trailer was ready but he didn't so whats all the entitlement from? This insight is def not useless without a vid and it does the same thing all the other dev insights have done.

Me too.
I am far from a basketball fan. I am just a casual BBall fan. But, you have to appreciate the type of job NBA 2K devs does.

From triple threat or stand dribble, if you hold LT on 360 (L2 on PS3) and move the Shot Stick in any direction, you can pull off an explosive escape dribble that directly transitions into a pull-up jumper. The nice thing about these shots is that you can break out of them. So after kicking one off, if the defense reads you properly and jumps in your way, you can retreat out or change directions while maintaining your dribble. There’s a risk/reward to it though because you can end up losing the ball if you collide with a defender.

This + improvements to isomotion + smoother catch and shoot sequences = best perimeter game ever!

meh..... I prefer pressing a button and watch canned shooting and dribbling animations play out than have having all that precision control that 2k12 has so there's no way im buying this game.

I hate how everything has to be approved, it's just a video and the demo comes out tonight, so what is it they don't want us to see yet??

The all caps really helped get your point across. We weren't clear the first time, thanks buddy!

*JWiLL02 hates this.

The post moves section goes on forever!!! lol

Glad to so that the new "escape dribble pull up" is breakable. Though it might have worked like a sig gather. Glad I'm wrong.

Bring on the demo!!!

I know, I never asked for all this contextual shot branching and dribble moves, who wants this variety anyway?

Spoiler
