Liking the feel of the demo.
I like the weight of the puck when I shoot a wrister.
The checking is much better.
I like when someone loses their helmet or the net comes off the moorings, doesn't seem to be too often and that's the key.
Seems very much like NHL 11.5 and if you don't play nhl much you probably could play 11 and be happy.
With that said the small changes they have made make it feel more sim and after the retail version comes out I don't think I could go back to 11.

Absolutely hate the menu background and the lightning effect or whatever you call it, very distracting and annoying.
On replays it doesn't make sense to have sound since no real life replays do that.

Agreed. I don't really like it either.

I'm hoping they include an option to disable the sound completely in replays.

...and an option to disable Bill Clement altogether.

It was said by two of the guys who went to the NHL community event. They got to test the game a few months back. They both reported that suspensions are in.

Is there going to be a Be A GM developer blog?

i really do like the game. Im just hoping this sim engine is indeed fixed.

Maybe for next year they can make the players a little smaller. It just seems as though they are too big for the ice surface.

They also need to get the linsemen in there.
get too many men on the ice penalties
hand passes

The fighting has to be totally redone. i laugh when everything disappears from the rink during a fight.

This is a nice addition to '12', that's been kinda nearly forgotten about it seems.

This, along with whats been said about more realistic number of injuries this year...should help with having your depth in your GM mode matter more.

Having to dip into my AHL squad the last few releases due to injuries, was nearly a thrill. Anything that adds more depth to BEAGM is so very welcome.

Nhl 12 is on it's way to be sports game of the year.

...actually that will be NBA 2K12.

One thing I really do appreciate about the NHL game is...the gameplay is still evolving as each year goes by.

I know for myself, I can really feel/see the difference from 11" to 12". And imo...the difference is fairly big. The physic engine that was added, has worked pretty well imo, to keep things gameplay wise, fresh from one year to the next.

Looking forward to getting the retail game and dialing in some sliders. That should make the gameplay even better than I'm seeing now.

You're probably right but...
It's got a really good shot at hockey game of the year

I haven't played a hockey game since NHL97. I just bought an Xbox360, after my last console being an original Playstation.

That being said, I was blown away by the demo. It was so much fun to play! I will glady give some of my hard earned money to EA for this gem.

Congrats, NHL12, you have earned a new fan.

I don't play HUT.. but playing it in the demo is quite simply... FUN.

It's also nice to have Tim Thomas as my goalie and Tavaras on my team.

NHL 12 will get the majority of my gaming time come 9/13 and beyond.

Can't wait to play a full game with my Blues.

OK, I don't want to start a war between games, but I have to say that NBA 2K's AI is really good, imo, and this is coming from a guy that has been a basketball fan since I was a little kid. You could make the same argument about the AI in just about any game, including NHL, so I think it's a moot point.

It's all good. I feel like I don't belong in the hockey forum a lot of times, only because I'm not very good at this game, lol. We'll see how I do on the 360 demo because I have yet to score on the PS3 demo. I am seriously thinking about using Auto-Aim this year as I feel like I've left too many goals out there b/c I am aiming incorrectly; I always wind up shooting high on manual.

Really enjoyed the demo, with the puck physics and all that. But one question, when doing HUT does anyone else get a stacked team? On this team I got Stamkos,Tavares,Perry,Iginla, Zetteberg, Havlat, Raymond, Lidstrom, Tim Thomas, Jonathan Quick, and more lol.

Yeah during the demo you get to play with a stacked team.

I'm with you, Dan. I don't belong here either... I guess I just don't see how a game that is NHL 11 version 2.0 gets a game-of-the-year potential just because of a few tweaks, and there are still questionable cpu AI decision-making, goofy goalie animations still popping up, and the ability to gain the offensive zone too easily. I know you, like I have, dug into NBA 2K11 and know that game inside-out. NHL 11 cannot hold a candle to the improvements that game made, and 2K12 is gonna blow that one out of the water...
