For those of you that tinkered with the speed threshold, what did you set it at? I'm about to start playing now.

Okay got two games in before work the first on all pro as the Packers and I pretty much just kept the bears in check and picked of Cutler a couple of times. Game felt fluid Cutler really didn't run too much except when everything broke down, but it felt right when he scrambled.

The second game I bumped it up to all madden and I don't know if DPP hates me but I was the Bears and it was ugly. I had no time in the pocket as the Packers were blowing by my guys like they were statues and then Cutler couldn't throw at all. But doesn't matter since the WR can't get any seperation, and if they did they just dropped the ball so Cutler ended the game with like a 17% completion percentage (granted I started throwing the long ball alot more since I was down big.) I can live with this stuff since yes some times Offenses just can't get anything going.

But the big thing came when I was playing D. Rogers was taking off at every chance he had, but the speed he did was further aided by my linebackers and lineman didn't even seem like he was there until he passed the line of scrimage and then they were so far out of postion that he picked up the first easliy. And the awarness of my defenders were terrible at times and I thought they should still be playing highschool. A big example I saw was when they Packers ran a toss play my outside LB on that side strafed to the middle of the field until the balll crossed the line of scrimage before reacting. So it looks like defenders will go to there zone until the ball crosses the line which makes it look real robotic. And then there is the deep ball in where my guys couldn't catch it or couldn't get open the Packers were throwing into double coverage and my Defenders would go for a basket catch or just not jump and let them catch it for big gains over and over again.

So D on All Madden seems to do so many things wrong, and I was hoping it would feel like NCAA Heisman. Because it plays so well on that mode o well...

After my first game, I really enjoyed the demo. I lost the game by 4 points but I missed two field goals as well. This new kicking method will take some getting used to. If they have an option, I'll probably go back to the old way on the retail version.

Agree 100%, and the super linebackers are gone also. A couple posters have said they're in Madden 12, but I didn't see them in any of the games I played. The problem ( in NCAA 12) is with the trajectory; that's the cause of the super LBs. That's why they can make plays on balls thrown to receivers that are ten yard away from them. There's no arch ( unless it's a 45 yard pass) to the passes in NCAA 12; thankfully, there is in Madden.

It's still early, and who knows what problems with creep up in the retail version, but the game-play seems to be on par with that other game.

Don't like the tackling in this game. Why is every tackle an earth shattering tackle? The computer controlled team especially. One thing that was good about protak was that it provided a lot more gang and wrap up tackles. The momentum is always negated as well from these ridiculous big hit tackles.

The rest of the gameplay just feels stale and boring. Nothing real specific, just the overall package including animations. This coming from someone who has not bought a Madden game since 09.

Hmm... has anyone else noticed way too many over the shoulder interceptions on deep passes? I think I've seen three in four games.

Also I haven't had a single surprise onside kick work yet, so I'll probably never use that.

QB sneak vs. a base defense is way too powerful. I had 3 and 1, so I QB sneaked it and the CPu cam put in a regular base defense and I easily got 8 yards. Plus when you do this the Qb takes off pretty quick...Its kind of weird actually

I notice it too. I have missed PAT and kicked out of bounds on kickoffs several times per game.

- Graphics look great
- The new camera angles are excellent, especially the FG/XP angles to properly represent TV. EA, take note: A subtle change that is a huge positive addition to the game. There are A LOT more opportunities for these
- So the demo press release noted that Olsen was off the Bears, Williams was on, and that you should complete a Hot Route pass and that "it will make sense later." 1) The roster changes weren't there, and 2) I completed a hot route pass, and nothing happened.
- The main thing I didn't like about the game was how far away the camera view is after the ball is hiked. I'm hoping there is a way to have a camera view closer to NCAA Football's in the final version.

Overall, I had a very positive first impression. Looking forward to the 30th.

Only played a half.

Feels a lot like NCAA, except it seems like the lighting isn't quite as good. Not sure why.

Game seems more..."sterile" than NCAA. Don't know how else to explain it.

Didn't notice anything glaringly good or bad. Just wonder if it will be fun enough to want to play for months.

I didn't say anything about speed in the post of mine you quoted, bro.

Jesus lol, I've been playing Madden 11 the past few weeks pretty much nonstop and I just got raped in my first game in the demo. I was the Packers on All-Pro. Lost 31-17. That was painful lol. Daniel Manning picked me off twice (one of them looked beautiful) and he took that beautiful one back for a touchdown.

I wanna say, getting the positive comments from especially Playmakers and Lisa is really gratifying, I know you guys are hard to please.

We're really working toward a new era for this game, and I think the team is more on board for that than ever before (as evidence by the fact that I'm still here, as my intial contract was extended).

#6 Still no inside/outside shade with man to man coverage.
It's there... not sure if maybe the demo branch was made before we put the UI in for it. Try Up (to activate the presnap menu), then "A" for individual coverage, then the button of the receiver who's cover man you're trying to adjust, then left for shade left, right for shade right, up for back up, down for press.

# 94 Yeah...THAT Guy @ 08/09/11 12:19 PM
Do they not have fumble pileups anymore?

Edit: And another question: How do you do the surprise onside?

# 95 coolio83 @ 08/09/11 12:26 PM
just noticed my first bug, Olsen made a catch and I challenged it, and I won so it should have been overturned. HOWEVER, they still gave the Bears the 1st and 10.

I'm hoping the final version offers a way to have the camera a little bit closer to the action, it just seems too far away. Especially for running plays. But other than that, I really liked the demo.

This is the biggest gripe i have, im fine with everything else but the players size is a huge disappointment. I thought the size of players were increased this year to provide better proportions. Im with you NCAA really captured this well.
