Pre-play adjustments in NCAA so much easier!

I played M11 all year, so I know for me personally M12 is up to snuff.

That said, I'm enjoying the demo.

There are some bugs that I hope are smoothed out in the retail:

Some instability moving from cutscene to cutscene

The ball morphing out of the QB's hands when he passes

Other than those obvious things, I liked it.

Oh, and it's nice to see roughing the passer called with frequency if you up the slider. Nice!

I dunno about NCAA because i don't own it but the presnap controls in madden are horrible IMO,having to go r3 then the d pad feels awkward to me.

Hopefully ps3 doesn't look terrible compared to 360 again...
I plan to do the same, even though I like the PS3 controller better for sports games. There was a difference between PS3 and NCAA versions with the 360 being superior just alone on the demos.

After playing a couple of games I gotta say I love what I have seen up to this point.

Graphics are simply incredible, gameplay is smooth as butta!!!

What a year we have with NCAA 12 and then EA turns out this puppy

love the new Cam. Angles and presentation. love the kicking mechanic. Pocket Presence feels ok. Defensive line play is better.you can now sack a qb instead of him getting rid of it @last second. Similar to NCAA Where you have that little extra on the dive / Tackle but.(x button)

Hate: does seem a little easy but i understand it's a demo. Not a big fan of 1 handed int's, I mean it's a great play. I just seem to see the animation far too frequent than i do on Sunday. Biggest Leap forward in a while. I'll do what Ive done since madden 96 and that's just enjoy what it brings.

Ball physics are great, end of half cutler through it up fifty yards it bounced off the receivers hands then bounced off my defenders back a couple times then the receiver caught it. I watched replay and every little touch was respected, wasnt random at all.

only joy was not hearing Chris Cockinmouth calling the game. Other than that still a broken football game.

This is my biggest complaint. If I'm on offense I'm sure as hell gonna quick snap so guys can't setup any nano blitzes against me because I know that they won't let me setup my defense either unless they are one of those lame players that milk every last second off the clock all game long.

The demo was decent, a major concern is sacks from the RE/ROLB will they be able to get to the QB. I did sack the Green Bay qb while controlling J.Peppers. I then switched the controller to cpu vs cpu and watched the game played smooth some tweaks are needed but it coming along tho!!!

I didn't take the time to read all the pages, but I wanted to bring this up if it hasn't been mentioned.

During the 4th quart at about 1:30 left in the game, Olsen goes out with an injury. Both teams had 3 timeouts before the play and guess what?! Both teams still had their 3 timeouts after the play.

I believe NFL rules state that an injury in the last two minutes of a half will use up a timeout if you have any left.

Can someone confirm this?

I noticed it to.

Im loving what im seeing at the time. I think this will be able to hold my attention much longer then ncaa because everything is just so much more life like if thats a way of putting it. Players are not bulky and the lighting is better imo. With that said I HAVE NOT WON A GAME YET AFTER ABOUT MY 4TH OR 5TH GAME. I played my first game on all-madden with GB and was whooped like 24-0. The CPU defense is really tough. I have to get rid of some of my old way. I also learned that when passing the ball I have to pick plays where the routes develop or have a safety valve to dump the ball off because plays with mostly deep routes will get you sacked alot because players wont get open due to the fact that the CPU D is on point. Took me a lil minute to get use to the speed but i have no problems with it

PROS:
Crowd
DPP-Love to see the Cutler is now trigger happy and so i can drop more players back in coverage knowing he wont hold the ball long. Adds depth
Pass Rush
CPU Defense
Lighting
There is so much more i just cant think of them now.
Animations

Cons:
Pre-snap adjusmtents-With the d-pad there is not enough time to make them how you want
To many broken tackles by the cpu on all-madden-In my first game against chi on all madden forte the first tackle everytime he touched the ball
Playcall screen-its to clunky and laggy. Also dont like how if you go into a set in a formation then back out it takes you to the top of the formation then you have to scroll all the way back through the different set
Blocking on punt returns is not horrible but it can be a lot better.
Camera is to far back. Hate how on run plays the camera will zoom out the zoom back in

There is one thing about DPP im not sure of even though i said it was a con. I dont know if it really is working correctly and making Cutler trigger happy or if it is just a placebo effect that when I see that he is trigger happy in my mind im thinking he is getting rid of the ball quickly. I just get so excited when i see something like cutler being trigger happy because i start thinking he is more prone to making a mistake.

Does anyone see DPP making a difference?

Shields is rated a 75. Interesting when players get hurt, because you can see the ratings of some players who havn't been announced yet.

Not really. For gamers, like me, who play both NCAA and Madden this is completely frustrating! NCAA is much, much better in this area.

1. The controls need to be streamlined. I think everything is just a little to cumbersome for the pre-snap controls. Such as, scrolling through the "formation audibles" instead of using the right stick. (You can actually use the right stick for quick audibles, but you have to press x twice). Also even if you pick the Madden '10 pre-snap controls the slide protection is still not initiated by pressing LT. So you can use all the other pre-snap controls, but you still have to use the d-pad for slide protection. Annoying

2. I also HATE how the play calling menu always defaults back to the top. To where if you are wanting to run "Packer Trips" you have to scroll down after every down. NCAA keeps it on that particular formation after every down. Takes way more time. Just annoying.

3. Also you can't skip through the walk-up cut-scene while the user is on defense by pressing A. It goes to your defensive hot route. Also very annoying.

4. Also some may like it, but I hate how it defaults to special teams on 4th down. NCAA has it right where you can press Y to get to special teams.

I didnt have to use RS for pre-play adjustments. All you have to do is use directional pad. I have no time on defense to make adjustments.
I didnt even try to scramble with Rodgers. Got sack alot of times by Peppers.
1 thing that happened that I was mad about, was I had a Wr open in the middle, I pushed the pass button and nothing happened. Only happened once.

every time ive had an injury there is a timeout that doesnt count against any team.

The demo is really fun, but I have one concern.

I was having a fantastic game with Jay Cutler, going for 282 yds, 2 TDs, and a 71.4 Comp%, and yet never once did the DPP give him a boost, even after a long 65 yd bomb to Johnny Knox for a TD. It works fine the other way around, though, because I sacked Cutler about 6 times one game and it made him paranoid and trigger happy.
