Worlds worst teaser ever? maybe. anyways I couldn't make out anything. however from what people have "seen" or are making up or whatever, it sounds like this could be promising.

Look guys, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. As long as it falls within the terms of the TOS then its fine. There is no need to jump on someone because they didn't like what they saw and don't have confidence in EA. Just like there is no need to jump on someone who is optimistic about what they saw and have confidence the game will be good.

Be constructive, state how you feel (within the TOS) and go from there.

Wasn't really all that, to me. I see everything everyone saw but nothing really got me excited. Just waiting on the forthcoming blogs/vids.

IGN 10 hints of teaser

EA released the first teaser trailer for Madden NFL 12. And when I say teaser, I mean, it's really just a tease. The very brief view shows 10 somewhat hard-to-interpret scenes. Each scene hints at something new for Madden NFL 12, but what are these 10 additions? I'm here to play detective.

Check out the Madden NFL 12 trailer. Then look at the screenshot below, which points to each of the 10 Madden NFL 12 hints.

1 - Online
This may hint at lobbies for online franchises. The current online game hasn't started in the trailer, but there's a conversation happening while real-time scores of other online games are displayed on screen.

2 - Player Tendencies
Does LT choose to make contact or go out of bounds? What's his reaction when the ball's in the air? How does he respond to different types of defenders? Looks like this and much more will be factored in to help make players feel even more authentic this season.

3 - Madden Ultimate Team
The new Madden Ultimate Team cards include Walter Payton. Interesting fact: Payton is the only Hall of Famer released for Madden Ultimate Team so far. Does this suggest more Hall of Famers will make appearances in Madden Ultimate Team 12?

4 - Opening Ceremonies
TV presentation is important for any sports game and Madden NFL 12 may be upping its games with brand new game intros, which includes mascots.

5 - Pressure Field Goals
The easy guess is that there's a change to the kicking meter. Here's another possibility: pressure situations added for kickers. After all, a kicker's true mettle is decided by how they perform in clutch moments. Madden could be adding some sort of "choke" element. After all, the video shows solid Packers kicker Mason Crosby followed by Dan "missed another field goal" Carpenter of the Dolphins.

6 - Stadium Upgrades
This looks like a new blimp view of the stadium. TV broadcast camera angles and improved stadium lighting and visuals seem to be in the works.

7 - Custom Playbooks
Custom playbooks are in!

8 - Onside Kicks
One thing missing from Madden has been the ability to surprise the other team with an onside kick. In the past, if you set up for an onside kick, you have to kick the ball onside. You set your formation for a regular kick, you can't onside it as a surprise. Seems pretty clear from the video that this is changing with Madden NFL 12.

9 - Hot/Cold Streaks
Aside from a slick interface, you can see that there is now a clear indicator of players who are "hot" and "cold." This must be tied to franchise -- but is it game to game or could it even carry over from one season to the next?

10 - 3D Grass
EA promised it and here it is. 3D grass in full effect. You can even see the cleat sink in. Can't wait to see the wear and tear on fields over the course of a game.

Kinda funny how everyone is surprised that the teaser vid is EXACTLY THAT: a teaser vid.

On what I saw:
  • CUSTOM PLAYBOOKS FOR THE M************ WIN!!!
  • Glad Player Tendencies are finally getting put in Madden (I've been lobbying for this since Madden 09). But, something tells me it'll be more like FIFA's Personality + feature, rather than anything 2K has. Not that it would be a BAD thing. But, I could be wrong (probably NOT, though).
  • Madden Ultimate Team: *snore*
  • New overhead stadium shots. Nice... like a real broadcast.
  • Spectator Mode in Online Franchise?
  • Authentic Team Entrances (w/ mascots & cheerleaders). Finally, I can see Blitz and the Sea Gals march out with the Hawks.
  • 3D Grass
  • Dynamic Player Performance... yes!
I'm sure there's more, but my eyes are straining, lol...

For those of us who are unfamiliar, what is FIFA's Personality+ feature? How does it differ from 2K's tendencies?

Also, if they're doing team intros, I want to see the Cowboys Stadium team intro ASAP.

I have seen only two positive things in this teaser video.
a) the teams specific entrance.
b) the pregame scene with the camera above the stadium looks like nfl on NBC broadcast, it looks great.
hope to see later improved presentation (maybe espn, cbs, fox, nbc), ingame ticker with scores like sony did with 'mlb 11 the show', enhanced graphics and real time physics.
but remember: big expectations=big disappointments...

Dont really understand the hate from some people wanting more.

I actually think this teaser is pretty well done....I mean, of course I'd rather have a full fledged feature list instead of pausing and straining my eyes, and coming in here and speculating -- but like I said before, I'm happy and cant wait for the team to dive deep into these new additions.

5 Months until the release of the new madden, and so far I'm getting those excited feelings back already.

Personality + is FIFA's take on player tendencies. Rather than using sliders to determine tendencies (a la 2K), P+ uses general player types and thresholds, as well as body types and animations, to determine tendencies...

I disagree bro, I actually see it helping to counter all the BS.

I've been one of the big complainers when it comes to Nano's and all the unstoppable nonsense that goes on during a madden game, and for instance with the Nano's through the 'A' gap -- there are ways to sorta counter it with quick passes and running plays...but using a certain team playbook, there is only so many plays that allow you to counter the Nano with.

I believe with the ability to prepare for the unstoppable play, you can come up with your best counter by picking trusted plays, from your personal style to slow down the Nano pressure from all 40 playbooks madden offers.

At the end of the day, Custom playbook or not, Nanos will still be there...I'd rather have the best way to prepare for it through schemes from different playbooks, IMO

wow that was barely anything. But i guess I shouldn't have expected anything catastrophic. I barely got a glimpse of the playbooks too. I dont see how anything is confirmed yet though.

I dont get it. Those overhead stadium shots were in Madden 07 and are currently in Ncaa games. I never understood why they werent in M10 or 11. Oh well whatever none of that matters. Bring on some Franchizformation.

If you look closer at the bottom of that snippet, you'll see a graphic overlay come up that isn't the usual scoreboard. I think they may be hinting at a TV style broadcast (maybe not ESPN, but at least something similar) with that bit.

The process you describe is in fact creating a playbook, only using plays EA provides. It's not false advertising.

There hasn't been mention of creating plays yet (there is a difference), though I'd like to see it.

The most important thing to me looks like player roles are back in franchise mode.

If you look at the ray rice bit, it doesn't look like "hot and cold streaks" to me. It looks like the second thing is yellow and a light bulb, meaning some kind of smart player role or ball carrier vision or something.

Also, it looks like we got more presentation elements like cheerleaders and a blimp camera view.
