And even as a Yankee fan, they should be at highest 5th

Which would you consider those two to be? They could have three. MadBum is going to be better then Cain.
They may be World Champs but they got those rings because they got hot at the right time and that's what matters most in the playoffs. They obviously got bumped up because of their last years finish. I guess I don't have a problem with that.

being ranked in this game as high as we are (8TH AL, 16th over all) is a big plus... i see good things for us both in the game and IRL.
I agree. They have something special brewing but haven't proven it on the major league level consistently enough for them to be ranked higher. Anybody could make an argument for that middle group of teams, 10-20ish to be in any kind of order. They finished exactly in the middle last year and with another year under the belts of the young guns, and the offensive improvements they made, could have put them higher then 16th overall.

I honestly thought the Mets would at least make it to the 18th place, maybe when they start off the season on a hot streak they'll move up in the game

Well they did win the WS last year so they were the best team last year.

haha Exactly, what people dont understand are these rankings on how the team did LAST YEAR, not on how good they are overall or how they have upgraded/healed in the offseason.

Best team in the playoffs. Best Pitching Overall.

People just know that they have lost uribe & renteria. The giants winning it was a very big "fluke" because it showed how luck and timing beat out talent last year.

Keeping Geren around is my biggest problem with Beane in the last decade. Seriously, giving this job to the best man in your wedding? And letting him stay there for this long?

Can you imagine what it would be like if this game was produced on the East coast?

What last year showed was good pitching beats good hitting.

well.... considering Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, Francisco Rodriguez, Johan Santana, and Jason Bay (who really wasnt all that important anyway) all had pretty significant injuries and the Marlins only finished with a record of 1 game better, then yes.

Very true, but thats not always the case. I love the change of scenery in the game though.

So these don't reflect offseason moves? That doesn't seem right... the rosters that ship with the game aren't last year's rosters.

Well then you are forgetting that Josh Johnson, Hanley Ramirez and Ricky Nolasco missed the whole last month of the season, and that the team traded/released on waivers a couple of their best bats at the trade deadline as well. Not to mention our best catcher missed almost the entire year.

But I don't have a problem with the Mets being one spot higher than the Marlins. Honestly I think both teams should be a few positions higher in the ratings but it's not a big deal.

I think the Dodgers should be switched around with the Rays. I mean, Rays were AL east champions and in the playoffs! And what is up with the Twins ranking?

No I don't think it does because the giants and rangers are over-rated, phillies, braves and reds are under-rated.

Im really upset that the angels are ranked SO LOW. Doesnt make sense to me. Angels are never ranked better 10 and they always make it to playoffs. Last year were injuries.

Underrated according to who? These are just your personal opinions.

The rankings are completely based on the player attribute ratings.

# 58 Goose26 @ 03/01/11 06:06 PM
Apparently someone at SCEA had a bad experience at a Twins game or something, because the 17 ranking is ludicrous. They are ARGUABLY the favorite to win the AL Central again, and lost nothing but a couple of bullpen guys, which was somewhat offset by getting Joe Nathan back this spring.

There is no reason they should be ranked outside of the top 10.

Nice to see the tigers getting some love... but as a fan I'm a bit skeptical about being above the white sox and twins...

Not to sound like a prick because I do agree with you, but then im disappointed with the attribute's of the angels. Extremely under-rated, and im not saying that because I am a fan. Its plain obvious on who is coming back from injury and who we acquired in the offseason.

Rangers lose Lee & Harden (two allstars) and get an injured brandon webb and they are so high.
