I still haven't been able to watch the whole video since I keep getting quality problems or buffering

At about the time where the CF misses that ball the quality goes down to like 240p then about 30 seconds later to 480p I believe...then buffers :/ this is my 4th time starting over though I'm giving it some more time now

The commentary...AWFUL...It sounds as if its only one broadcaster in the booth where is the conversations between them..Guess its the same ol' play by play commentary

Loved everything but the color commentary which is horrid.

I love it!

The game looks fantastic!

The problem was who ever created the video did a terrible job! why?

- No use of the real time presentation.

- Horrible plate discipline just to show more batters... That Last "at bat" should have been better.

- using the pitching camera to hit.

The commentary is indeed getting old... Karros repeating the same line as Rex... why?

- Carpenter has the same wind up as last year.

- No use of the new pitching Meter.

In other news. (Positives)

- The New pitching camera looks amazing!

- Albert Pujols, Aramis Ramirez, Carlos pena, new batting stances looked great.

- WOW... vastly improved ball physics.

- Clouds, grass, Stadium, Walls

- New Player Models!

I'm ready!!

I'm pretty sure many of Karros and Campbell's lines were cut because of the massive editing job. Matt V. was the only one talking while the plays were going on, so he's the only one you got to hear.

We'll probably hear more of Karros and Campbell when we get some unedited video (or in the demo tomorrow if it has commentary). But if you're expecting major changes to the commentary structure, you're going to be disappointed no matter what.

Still hope that the Exhibition overlays find their way into Franchise mode....

I hope this was an older build - Ramone, when was this footage taken? There are some very good things - the lighting, some new ball movement, the weather, the cameras, and the freshness of Eric Karros. However, it seemed like the person playing it was pretty sloppy, PR cut up the video thinner than potato chips (which is not a good sign), outfielders being over agressive, batters being over aggressive (Pujols down on three strikes in the bottom of the ninth with two outs - c'mon! They weren't even great pitches with any differentiation of speed), and was it me, or did the crowd's lighting look different than the lighting on the field? Then, there is the commentary, and I appreciate a lot of the new lines by Vasgersian and Soup (the only repeat I heard was "That was really a Majestic HR," which I like) and the new commentator. However, the stitching does not seem very natural, there is still a lack of the kind of stat-driven commentary that you see in 2k, no interaction between the three whatsoever, and larger than necessary gaps between lines. I think that 09's commentary might have been better than 11, if this is truly representative of the final product. Can't wait for the demo tomorrow, and I hope there is commentary with it, but this might have lowered my expectations a little.

Matt V, does make the commentary work well. And i still like Dave Campbell.

that said, don't know why SCEA selected Eric Karros. He is very boring. There would've been many better candidates. Harold Reynolds and Joe Magrane, for starters...

The gameplay looks very good. Don't be so down on the gameplay in the video.

Surely there's shortcomings still in commentary...needs improvement (over-haul). Otherwise, very good on models, lighting, etc. I especially like where Molina rips that double down into the leftfield corner and there is no lag in the fielder getting to the ball and hitting the cut-off man. KUDOS!

A mid-season franchise video clip with stat overlays, presentation treats, etc would please a lot of us as far as where this game has hopefully taken so more improvements.

This clip also has me pondering about switching my hitting camera to outfield, but I'm concerned as to its effect on timing...will try before franchise takes off lol. Great job SCEA...keep this title elevating every year, please don't get stagnant like Madden. Thanks!

Oh, it's worth the wait.

I know I've already ripped it for it's editing...

But, otherwise, the WGN style pitcher's view and the graphical awesomeness of Wrigley make me want the game...bad!

Again, the improvements are very apparent in this video. Marmol looks intimidating as all Hell, for some reason, too!

I too am disappointed with the cut and splicing of the video. But what I did see and loved was new stances from DeWitt, Pena and Ramirez. All of them I thought looked really good. Game play didn't bother me too much just would have loved to see a inning or two of straight gameplay instead of this. But this definitely made me want the game even more!

The two things I am going to do once I get this game is, 1. Turn off the commentary. 2. Turn off the batter HR cut scene. I like the live action, although you cant see the ball in full flight I just like it that way.

Carpenter's delivery is still horrid.

I don't mean to sound like a nit-picky complainer, but.
The best player in baseball still bats nothing like real-life, a multiple time all-star doesn't have the slighest similarity to his real life stance, a former cornerstone of the Astros and a multiple time all-star barely resemebles his real-life self, and a former Cy Young winner pitches no where near his real life form.
pretty much everything you said here is wrong

Wow. I need this game in my hands right now. Gorgeous.

# 36 wrigleyville33 @ 02/21/11 08:55 PM
I'm still upset on how bad Wrigley looks. The only improvement they made was making the the concrete colored stairs green. Nothing else was improved. They couldn't even get the correct dugouts. I mean, State Farm cover them in real life, why not do it for your own sponsor in the game SCEA? Wrigley better get some love next year...

# 37 sandmac @ 02/21/11 09:00 PM
The player models don't look much improved. Byrd and Pena still look like linebackers....
However, the lighting and physics are better. Looking forward to getting the game.

That video is a little disappointing. Looks like 10 with just better lighting. Looks like they gave us the EA treatment.

Albert's hands are in a horrible position, as are his legs. Look at the picture of his in-game stance sideways (it was somewhere on here) to this stance: http://swamigp.files.wordpress.com/2...bertpujols.jpg
No where close. You can watch videos of mlb.com too (same goes with all these guys)
Holliday doesn't have any leg movement, and his bat is relatively still. Colby has a leg kick and a two-handed follow-through. Berkman's bat somewhat rests on his shoulder.

As for Carpenter
1. He doesn't fall off toward 1st base
2. after he goes through his windup, his leg lift is much slower than in-game.

Like I said, check mlb.com, your eyes seem to be deceiving you
Im not going to get into a huge long drawn out argument with you about this but if you ask around, you'll see I know a thing or two about stances. first of all, with Pujols, you posted a picture from the side which you can't see in the video because it is the pitcher cam view. Pujols also is known for switching his stance throughout the season, including hand placement so the picture you posted might not be the same model they were using for the game. Berkmans stance while the same as years past is pretty accurate. yes he does rest the bat on his shoulder but his actual hitting position and leg/feet placement are nearly perfect. Rasmus DOES need the 2 handed follow thru as you mentioned but his stance itself is nearly perfect and as for Carpenter, they did seem to tweak his a bit but I do agree on his that they needed to do a bit more work on it but it still isn't as far off as you're implying. Holliday's stance is better than last years I can tell you that. He had the bat wrapped far too far around his head last year and he too is a guy who often adjusts his stance in season. The stance in the video looks a bit more like how he batted for the Rockies because is a bit more straight legged now with the Cardinals but it is a fairly good representation. overall I have really liked what I have seen in the videos as far as updated stances go and again, you won't find a bigger stickler for stances/motions than me. They aren't going to get every one completely accurate and most of that has to do with the time it takes to motion capture, but the fact that they listened to a lot of our community's ideas/complaints from the past games, it is at least a step in the right direction.

Love that when a runner is on base, it shows baserunning ability and speed without having to go into another menu. Nice simple addition that gives you more info.
