"EA SPORTS MMA brings the authenticity of the world’s most intense combat sport home like never before. Go on the offensive with a dynamic control system for strikes, elbows, knees and kicks and strategically manage advances and counters with an intuitive submission system. Battle it out in the Strikeforce cage or deliver vicious soccer kicks and head stomps in a ring in Japan. Are you ready? Let’s get it on!"
Sounds good. So I'm guessing it's not as easy to stun people anymore? On the demo apparently you could just come out throwing haymakers, and once the AI is in the stunned animation (or yourself) they become defenseless and makes for an easy KO every time.
the cpu does a much better job of parrying, but if you got 2 guys who are swinging wild then someone is bound to get rocked. its also a little easier to fight out of the tko state by mashing b.
Fooled around with CAF. They have the last name of every major non UFC fighter in the game (Noons, Cavalcante, Lombard, A. Silva etc.). EA was very careful not to include any UFC fighter last names. You cant even create Nate Diaz an have the announcer say his name. Which is funny because Nick is in the game.

Well thats a bummer, Have you tried playing against lashley and seeing if he plays as in the demo ? Too many takedowns ?
Well guys I can't anything about the single player yet because i honestly have not even started anything in that mode.
But I did get to play about 15 matches between me and Matt. The online chess match this game offers is STELLAR. Me & Matt went back and forth last night, one fight I would win then the next he would. Nothing ever felt like cheese or cheap. The balance from what i can tell so far seems AMAZING.
I don't want to sound to much like I am pumping it up. Wait for you guys to get your hands on the multiplayer part of the game. But I will say, it blows UFC 2010 & 2009 out the water in terms of gameplay.
Bad news folks. The 10-7 rounds are in the retail version. In a round that I took Matt Lindland down 9 times, two judges scored the round 10-7.

Double letdown. Can't believe the terrible judging made it into the game. You'd think while the team was playing one another they would've gone to decision a couple of times and realized how atrocious the scoring was and changed it.
Going to hold off on buying the game for now. I'll wait to see what they fix in the first patch.

Thanks for the info, aholbert!
see to me this almost seems like an improvement over the whole judging system, i think in a 10 point must system, it states winner gets 10, opponent 9 or less. they need to use the entire 10 points. think about some fights where a guy wins a round but it was kinda close, but all 3 judges see it as 10-9. then the next round the other guy makes an adjustment, and convincingly wins the round, but wasnt given a 10-8 because it wasnt total dominance. Ideally total dominance should be scored 10-1 or 10-2. a convincing round would be in that 10-5 to 10-7 range, and 10-8 or 10-9 would be for close rounds. So honestly I'm kinda happy to see some 10-7s because to me thats a step in the right direction for mma. to be fair i havent seen straight 10-7s like i saw in the demo. also you could fight japanese or vale tudo and have no scores, just the entire fight scored as a winner or loser.

I'm sorry but thats a copout. This game is supposed to have realistic judging. Its not supposed to be an example of how EA thinks judging should be. I've seen my share of 10-8 and 10-7 rounds in this game. You rarely see 10-8 rounds in real life. I dont think there has been a 10-7 round in MMA history.
Its BS and its the only major issue I see with the game right now. I dont know how you can claim to talk to McCarthy and Shamrock about judging and think that 10-7 rounds are possible. This isnt boxing.
Even playing around with your theory it would cause more issues than it solves. Take the Brock/Carwin fight and lets say its a 3 round fight. Under your theory, Carwin dominated round 1 so he deserves a 10-7 or 10-5 round. So lets say Brock wins the last two but he didnt dominate them and gets a two 10-9 rounds. Brock would lose the fight even though technically he won more rounds than Carwin and controlled the fight.

That's too gamey though because that's not how it works in real life. Also, if you do get a 10-7 round, with only 3 rounds the fight is pretty much over. Besides that getting a bunch of TDs doesn't sound like a dominating round anyway, unless they were close to being finished.
Mother. Gamekiller...blows me away that it wasn't caught by anyone on the EA team. Anyone with any sense would immediately notice that.
Its such a good MMA game but I have no idea how they missed this. But EA always has an issue with judging. Most of the Fight Night/Knockout Kings games had wonky judging imo.
Which was exactly what happend with my demo experiment. Are there stoppages in the game at all? Certianly weren't in the demo.
The fact that there are 10-7 rounds isnt the only problem. For example, just had a fight with Eddie Alverez and Aoki. The 3 judges scored the round 10-10, 10-7 Alverez and 10-9 Aoki. Now no one dominated that round. Alverez took Aoki down twice Aoki went for several subs and Alverez controlled the standup.
