You know that's not what he was talking about, was it really worth advertising lol. All those plays were was post up then up and under or fadeaway jumpshot
my bad.. im guessing he was talking about this move then
This video is essentially saying, Don't hate the game, hate the player, i.e. yourself. I know that I'll never be able to do 90% of the sickness that is in this clip, but I know that its because of my deficiencies, not deficiencies in the gameplay mechanics.
haha! its players like Mo that are the reason why I have a love/hate relationship with 2K bball games. I can do some of the things he did their but not with that level of consistency.
And it frustrates the hell out of me that I can't be nearly as effective as I could be. I'm hopin that this year will be year I get this game down though. I'm goin to need the 2K cam, practice mode, and a whole lot of free time Lol!
But I think I may finally achieve the isomotion year.. the control scheme and overall mechanics seem great and the fact that the unrealistic recovery speed is gone gives me all the inspiration I need to put in that extra work to become good at it.
When i do pull off a sweet move its by luck and it would really help if the iso motion was camera relative and you would move the stick in the same direction every time to do the same move
You mean absolute because its camera relative right now... but Thank God absolute controls is finally an option this year for both offense & defense, so we may finally be able to figure this thing out lol
who are you telling lol. its exactly like you are playing one of those fighting games like mortal kombat. half the time im are just pushing buttons (mortal kombat) or moving the stick in different directions because i dont know what does what as far as the analog stick goes. yea i know to do a simple crossover just move the stick from left to right or a spin is a half circle or something like that but beyond that im stumped
Know dont confuse that for me wanting an and1 game but its just to complicated. When i do pull off a sweet move its by luck and it would really help if the iso motion was camera relative and you would move the stick in the same direction every time to do the same move
What? IsoM is camera relative.
I don't know what to tell you guys other than to practice. The insight/video covers just about every MOVE (not animation) that's in the game. mjjr, what move that you don't know how to do isn't covered in the insight/video?
Why should they tell you HOW to chain them together? That's one of best things about the game, learning and figuring out what looks good, what can be chained into or out of.
Control is, well I wouldn't say "revamped"... you still have that slight delay (though it's not as bad as last year) but they've removed the "wait I pressed this way, why am I now spinning/running out of bounds/weird running" animations and tightened things up a lot. I feel like now, even though it's animation-heavy, I'm always performing what I intended, and that's what I think most were asking 2K for.
This sums up my position. The fact that I'm not flying off in some odd direction is what I really wanted.
Here's my first big question: whenever I do a User Offensive Rebound, it seems like my guy goes for a put back instinctively. Was this covered somewhere? I feel like I need to hold Triangle/Y until my guy touches the ground to hold onto the rebound otherwise things will go wrong and he'll miss his put back. Is this how it works or am I just having bad luck with Artest and Bynum?

i got them mixed up. but if absolute is in then thats a plus

LOL so true, this year I may actually care about this kind of stuff b\c its worth it....
Im think about going with absolute b\c I play on Broadcast...makes it much easier

i corrected myself. i mixed them up.
you are right about the practice. with me its also so much to do but i dont remember half of them of them lol
i can say or see in my head what i want to do but i just cant put it together with the sticks. practice practice and practice i guess

Jano, it takes years to Achieve the Isomotion. Don't speak lightly of it.
But seriously, this is another reason I'll enjoy the game so much this year. I can actually do things on a consistent basis. 2K9/10, if I did something hella tight, it was probably luck, or if I could recreate it it didn't look as cool because someone probably warped, slid, teleported, and hopped out his time machine to mess up the essence of the play.
2K7/8/11 allowed/allows you to create things and put them in your back pocket. It'll get to the point where that back pocket is so full you won't know which move you want to pull out to make the defender look stupid.

Yes, absolute controls gives me hope that I won't be lurching around on the court like Frankenstein's monster anymore.
