My impressions from the demo are as followed.
I am overall impressed but I wish they would of made the demo a tad bit longer. It is a bit of a learning curve with the moves, iso motion, signature gathers etc. To include some sort of practice mode where people could perfect the feel of the game would have been nice.
The iso motion feels funny to me. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it is because I dont know the moves and I am just pressing buttons as if I were playing 2k10 might be it. I wish they implemented the player chatter that is on the 360. It gives the action on the court another level of immersion.
Superstars are going to be a problem in this years game. Kobe is a monster. They have nailed the "signature" style of the players as well. Kobe's and Pierces jumpers are spot on. It is truly a joy to watch. I went for a steal with Artest and he got called for a foul and he started jumping up and down holding the ball.
2k11 is the king of the block when it comes to basketball sports simulation and I wish they would stand behind their product a bit more. Make the demo longer and give us a practice mode!
I am proclaiming it.
Sports Game of the Year! nuff said
Man I loved this demo because of 2 things, you can't choose the celtics and you can't sub out unless your fouling a player out...besides that, I didn't like how fluid the game ran and how much more polished the game was. Players felt more organic, the tempo of the game much improved...Kobe Bryant is a beast, Pau Gasol is a beast, the arena atmosphere was vastly improved, the way the crowd looks this year is just amazing, controls felt way better than previous years, the cpu will exploit miss matches and use it to there advantage, numerous of tipped passes forces you to make good decisions, did I mention Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are beast? Overall I just couldn't stand this demo! October 5th can't get here quick enough!
Man from these videos you guys are posting it's crazy some of the offensive higlights that have been occurring in our short time with the demo but what i happened to come across amazed me, watch what happens to rondo when he drives the ball...
No manual subs again in the demo, and I really wanted to play with Steve "The Kobe Killer" Blake. So I ended up fouling out Derek Fisher and giving the Celtics a 0-6 Advantage with 3 minutes left to play. When Steve Blake came in I started giving him all the shots, he went 3-3 to quickly tie the game. Paul Pierce gets free down in the paint and puts the Celtics up 8-6. I make another shot with Steve Blake going 4-4. Celtics give the ball to KG and tries to post up, I hit the ball out of KG's hands and last touch was on the Celtics.
I get the ball back with 10 seconds to go, get Steve Blake free and he takes the final shot FTW!!!!
i'm not impressed. no tutorial so i have no idea how to call picks or juke people with different dribbling mechanics. also, the shot stick is a total ****ing mystery.
and without commentary, the game feels boring. not living up to the hype so far.
LOL @ saying it's not living up to the hype just because you don't know how to play. That's hilarious.
Evil..pure evil that we can't switch to the Celtics. You don't know how much it pained me to put the beats on Ray Allen for 10 quarters straight.
i have been playing 2k games since iso motion came out and i still cant do what you are doing. Im still only doin basic moves and still running in circles or left to right to do a spin move.
I hate these moves but they look good when you do them. and you make then look so easy to do. even for people who have been playin 2k for a while they still need a tutorial
I'm not gonna lie, I was leaning towards Elite this year because I was getting bored of 2k's gameplay year after year but I played the demo and WOW. I was so impressed that I'm probably gonna be playing this demo nonstop for a few weeks. I wasn't too impressed with the images or the videos but playing the demo is the only real way of seeing how the game is. 2k11 is a must buy!!!
You know that's not what he was talking about, was it really worth advertising lol. All those plays were was post up then up and under or fadeaway jumpshot
i cant even come close to replicating this. I either see jump shots or a drive that leads to a pass out of a shot. More often than not, it's a jumper in my face. perfect AI execution
Tried this 5 straight time and got none of what he's talking about. I just gave up 5 wide open Js. Thankfully he missed one... :^/
Does anyone here leave Rondo wide open at the 3? that's what I've been doing so far and dare him to shoot and he never does! just like in the real NBA!!!! haha.
KG taking jumpers all day too, and banking in a lot of shots.
My favorite move so far is get the ball to go Kobe near the sideline and crossing over the opponent and going in for the 2-hand slam!!!
Evil..pure evil that we can't switch to the Celtics. You don't know how much it pained me to put the beats on Ray Allen for 10 quarters straight.
This video is essentially saying, Don't hate the game, hate the player, i.e. yourself. I know that I'll never be able to do 90% of the sickness that is in this clip, but I know that its because of my deficiencies, not deficiencies in the gameplay mechanics.
WOW ok, yeah they do need to put out something in regards to controls...people need to see what you can do with these controls lol....the sizeup to behind the back I just did w\ Kobe was ridiculous...
I've been playing isomotion since it's inception and I couldnt understand it then and I'm no where near advanced now. I visualize the move I want to do, but I can never get the controls to cooperate. On the real hardwood I can put together a flurry of moves, one would think it would be easier to perform in the virtual arena.
I feel like this is Tekken or Soul Calibur, you need to learn the precise combo of buttons in order to pull off any one single move. The learning curve is too steep for a sports game and I 2K knows they need to reconcile that somehow. Some of you guys are just naturals at it or you practice a lot. Sports games should present your arsenal of command clearly and from the get-go. If it was a dream world, I'd see a video made by 2K Sports highlighting every move they've coded for in the game. So that I can compare and contrast different situations I'm in with what moves I can pull off.
That short tutorial video from the controls insight was no where near the amount of moves in the game that you can pull off.
Contextual.
You're welcome, where you see "Views" under theres "Embed" click on that and copy paste the code in the big box and just paste it into your reply here.
who are you telling lol. its exactly like you are playing one of those fighting games like mortal kombat. half the time im are just pushing buttons (mortal kombat) or moving the stick in different directions because i dont know what does what as far as the analog stick goes. yea i know to do a simple crossover just move the stick from left to right or a spin is a half circle or something like that but beyond that im stumped
Know dont confuse that for me wanting an and1 game but its just to complicated. When i do pull off a sweet move its by luck and it would really help if the iso motion was camera relative and you would move the stick in the same direction every time to do the same move
