Loving the gameplay but they dropped the ball big time on the actual demo. I can understand and live without any commentary, but only being able to use the Lakers, not being able to call plays and the demo only being 1 4 minute quarter blows.
Other than that though, the game itself is great. Feels really smooth, control is good, animations are great of course, defense feels a lot better and the new passing has secretly done the game a big favor in terms of how the game looks and feels now. I wish Rondo wouldn't dunk as much though. I know he has the hops to, but he should really only be dunking when he's all alone on a fast break.
graphics are brighter, which I like. But, areas where the 360 has jaggies the PS3s are more noticeable and takes you out of the world. It's different seeing jags on the backboard and behind the goal vs on the jerseys, numbers, and on players skin where the light reflects. It still looks good, but lacks the depth and smoothness to appear 'real' in there 2k world all the time. But it still looks great. Most of these issues will 'disappear' after playing a while and not looking at or comparing to the 360 version.
.
great graphics, real smooth....have depth and body the gives it a realness. Players, refs, and crowd exist in a cohesive world, they fit almost perfectly.
Gameplay is good, much better than the previous 2k10, an 2k9 (purchased but rarely played).
Sense of control is back. Great footplanting on defense especially. The feel of jumpshooting is back! I know when its in there (or should be). And the jumpers are very nice looking.
Still has it's video game moments, but expected....it's a video game. It's funny because my video game self makes poor plays b/c i wasn't expecting the CPU to make the basketball play.

The court on PS3 doesn't have reflections at this time. Should be in final though.
players seem faster and more responsive than on 360. I'm a bit more exciting at what I'm doing and seeing when I play on PS3. On 360, i'm a bit disjointed b/c it looks good but doesnt always feel good (possible 360 controller gripe).
All other impressions are the same.
All in all. I'm willing to sacrifice the extra bit of polish on the 360 version for improved PS3 online play b/c I like the DS3 controller best. If the PS3 online lacks again, I will opt for the 360 version.
But the PS3 version will more than likely look better than the demo b/c the lights on court weren't in the game...there may be other graphical touches that hadnt been added at demo time. As we all know, they go on 360 first so the ps3 may be a bit behind the 360 demo build. But, by release date, the gap, graphically, may be a bit less than it is now (we should expect 360 to be a bit better).
I did a lot of comparisons as well, I have a Sharp Aquos 32 LED both PS3 and 360 hooked up with HDMI 1.3, even though the 360 doesn't really utilize 1.3. The colors are brighter/richer on the PS3, though the anti-aliasing is much more noticeable on the 360, the PS3 has a lot of jagged edges, even on the outline of the players. I agree, the PS3 seems to have a better frame rate and IMO the audio on the PS3 is DTS and sounds a little smoother than the 360. The audio on the 360 is much louder by default for whatever reason.

Idk if anyone notices but the Expected Crowd changes one game i had 18997 and the next i had 18511 idk if it was in 2k10 or not but its the little things.
Anybody trying out the "LT Flick, Flick" shots Beluba mentioned?
Soo much fun to pull off w/ Kobe and the variety is amazing!!!
That's good to hear, man. You gotta record those plays and show it to us. Or at least look for a Synergy vid. It's so hard just to read impressions, poor us PC gamers.
i've never played a 2k basketball game before, havent bought a nba game since live 95. but i played this and was AMAZED that I made it to the line in one game 3 times! damn!
Just got done dancing with Kobe on Ray Allen. This game feels so smooth and realistic. I like it. They also seemed to fix the crowd noise as well. They seem a lot more live than last year.
playstation opened a spot downtown (SF) for ppl to test out the Move..
NBA 2k11 was playable, and it was heat vs lakers
no lie i was there for 2 hours playing, i kept trying to dunk with bron to see all the contact animations, i counted 20 different ones..probably a buttload
Okay, many are continuing to complain about no playcalling in the demo, but we've found a way to call plays, even if it wasn't supposed to be in the demo.
Also, on the note of using the "LT+flick the shot stick to initiate a signature shot animation, then flick it again to finish the animation" works very well in circumstances that include the CPU guarding you very tightly, which means it will work wonders against those aggressive users that give you no room to breathe.
i think the FG% is bit too high in the demo. A lot of contested shots were falling especially the post up jump shots. WTF did they do to ray allen and paul pierce? They can't seem to get their faces right year after year.
The fake pass button is pretty cool. Crisp graphics and bigger models are nice.
Can anyone give me the basics for the post game? I never played 2k10 so forgive me if it's practically the same controls. I can tell it's different from 2k9. How do I pump fake from the post? If I tap or flick the stick it still shoots. Also, do I have to hold the back triggers at all time to stay posted or can I just hold it for a bit then let go once the post game triggers? How would I try to do a simple up and under?
just played another 6 games and im starting to wonder did elite 11 even have a chance this year? im in no way trying to bash EA efforts im just really curious
There is no reason for jaggies 2k. I'm not buying this game. I won't buy another 2k basketball game until they fix these jaggies.
I know many might not care, but I'm tired of it. The demo was good, but I already told myself if they cant give us at least a equal port I wasnt buying.
I think 2k made someimprovements, but they still skipped a lot of things that needed corrected. I love the presentation swipes though. 2k knows how to do things, thats why I dont understand why they leave jaggies, and poor coach, sideline, crowd models every year. Paul Pierce still looks like a monkey or something.
Wake up 2k!
If your hdtv is properly calibrated there are no jaggies. Put sharpness at 0 is a good start. I have no jaggies.
