blackflash did post that the rocket dunks were being fixed. I know that would be an easy fix, but I don't know if he meant it had already been fixed since the 23 LA videos, or if it was being fixed this week.

So that would be one thing, but generally the kinds of bugs that are fixed this late are more showstopper crashes.

And since you're probably going to ask next, I don't believe what would go into a patch has been planned yet, although like I said I am out of the loop being on vacation so planning may have started.
Ok, thanks for your answer

I listened to them twice, one just sound, and again viewing the vid. Breen and JVG sound like they had a cold, or are speaking like they are trying to disquise their voice. At times their tone doesnt refleect the action on screen, which makes watching it visually, unappealing.
In my opinion, I'm fine with the overall sound outside of the ball/rim sound effect. Everything else is fine. Not perfect, but I don't have a problem with any of it.

man oh man....commentators aren't in sync like they should be especially with the talent they have and magnitude of this game. just doesn't sound authentic at all. shot percentages are too high. so many dunks as well, am I watching the sim version of nba jam?!?!?! in the words of mark "action" jackson "c'mon EA, your better than that!" one more thing, player interaction looks unrealistic. I'm sure there has to be a way to incorporate RTP while still having the players look like they are on the court with one another. To quote jay-z "get ya swag back daddy, where's ya focus at?"

Thanks man.

I'm a firm believer that being completely open and honest with the consumer is the best long term approach, and will make for a better game and a more satisfied customer.

You didn't even have to say you'd buy the game, trying the demo with an open mind is enough for me.

But I'd be thrilled if you do buy it

yall r crazy, u hav to hav the game in front of u and b hands on to understand and feel the effect of the new controls and gameplay. Stop complainin bout everything because its not even the finished product yet. They just wanted to show a little of the what the actual gameplay will look like in terms of real a.i. Thats why they used the thunder as an example becuz from the other video kd had helped out with the game and put some of his moves tht he uses in real life on the game. Wait until u play the game first b4 u start judging it. They r workin too hard on this game for yall to not giv it a chance based on a video.

Well.....I've seen 2 gameplay videos now (10 mins worth of gameplay) and not once did a see a jumper go in that wasn't swish ????

Very disappointing that this was again taken out of the game. The ball/rim interacton is basically back to Live 08/Live 09, it got better in Live 10..........not only is it not better in Elite 11 but has been taken out completely.

The sad fact is, is that as bad as this game looks, at the end of the day - I really want NBA Jam. :S

In all fairness rEAnimator has been saying they are sacrificing looks for control. So to say wait and try the demo actually make sense in this case.

Yeah, I'll say it now because it will have more credibility than afterwords.

The demo will be between 1-2 weeks of development behind the retail version.

That will include some tuning, most likely to speeds, shots and difficulty levels. Rocket dunks will likely have been fixed in that time.

A few really bad bugs will have been fixed too.

But the fundamental experience will be the same in the demo as the retail game.

I don't know how much we're putting into the patch, but the patch will not completely change the experience (assuming we have one).

It will likely be tweaking and tuning and plugging any exploit holes that come up based on the demo and initial feedback.

Bottom line is that the demo will be a good representation of the final product.

If you are okay with it the dev team made a good decision. If not the dev team may have been wrong in assuming players want total control.
I'm sorry but I just don't buy this argument that the devs keep using. In what way does total control get rid of exploits at all? 1:1 movement isn't going to solve every issue that's plagued the series in that regard.

I don't want to get beat because someone is able to push up on the shot stick and time Mo Williams jumper every time. You do realize the majority of online play will result in people taking a great, quick 3pt shooter and running back and forth along the perimeter until the get a step, then hitting consecutive 3s all game. This is going to be the most exploitable basketball game of all time. What's going to stop this from being the case?

Live 10's 3pt abuse wasn't nearly as easy to do as this one will be, and only certain guys could do it there (players with high off the dribble shot %s).

I want to get beat because someone played better basketball than me. You don't have to completely strip the game of quality animations to acheive that. How is this game supposed to have a proper inside/outside dynamic when the post game is so lacking? I really don't see how I can play real basketball here. It doesn't even seem possible to fast break properly...

Bah.

in all fairness, just because a company says they arent doing, or arent focusing on a specific aspect of a video game doesnt mean they are off the hook. It isnt fair to other companies that may have invested their time and money to critique that certain aspect of the game. This isnt meant to be disrepectful, but i am just saying, once you put it out there, people are free to grade it based on everything that sets the standards for a great sports video game.

I'm not telling people how to judge what they like. I'm saying that all the work done this year has been done for control at the expense of looks. If you want to see what makes this game unique then you have to play it first.

Smh this looks live lives is using 2005 technology and 2k is using modern day(coming from a live fan). the game just looks horrible idc if the controls are excellent how are you suppose to play a game that looks like this in 2010. the commentary is horrible and it is because Ea is lazy not because they have a new team. 2k9 had a new team and the commentary was ages above this no excuse ea this is horrible. i dont understand how w/o mike wang you guys cant make a basketball game to save ya lives
