This game isn't even out yet and there's talk of a possible patch. This game is over before it started. d

What happened to the days of selling a finished product? Why not delay the game until it's ready for release. I mean if i go to the store, can i get this game for 20 dollars and tell them ill send the rest when i patch my checking account. Telling people you might have a patch is saying nothing more than you knew this game had problems before launch, and sold a broken game. What does that say about a company? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with patches to fix problems, but at least make the game to the fullest, then if people complain make a patch.

Man... I've been around the EA and 2K series since they both hit store shelves but after watching almost every video uploaded for Elite I'm at a total lost for words here. I really am and I would be so embarrassed as a video game developer trying to defend... explain what's going on in the videos when it's plain to see there is nothing next gen about this game.

I mean this is in no way NBA Elite!

Elite: (noun) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, exclusive.

I have to agree... the name sure does sound like big things have been done or addresses making this the greatest when clearly... NBA2k11 desreve this title.
This series just seems to get worst and worst each year and this is totally unacceptable, I mean... when are you guys going to stop... saying every year you like the direction EA is going and "KEEP IT REAL".

There are so many things going wrong in the videos from busted ai, animations, play running, rebounding, shooting, crappy player models etc. It looks so much like a psp game.

The videos alone was enough to convince me that this basketball game is surely not... worthy of it's name... NBA Elite

OK...I think there has been 100 posts about the fact that it looks like a PSP game...it's not a witty, original thing to say anymore...anyone want to contribute something constructive?

I hear, it is getting a little redundant, but it just goes to sure you that this is how most people feel. Keep in mind that this is supposed to be the next gen era. It's supposed to be all about HD graphics and plenty of power to handle the things the previous consoles couldn't. All this about how powerful the 360 is supposed to be and the PlayStation 3's dual processors, and how this technology is supposed to allow developers to go places with games like never before. This is what they come up with? Sacrifice visuals for control, are they serious? Who here spent 3 to $400 dollars on a next gen console and an extra $10 a game for Xbox and PlayStation 2 graphics?

This looks absolutely terrible. The graphics SUCK. The movement looks totally unrealistic. What a disaster.

I'm disappointed that it was a dunk-fest inside for Detroit. I was hoping that we'd see better collisions in the paint. Nenad was dunked on twice, I believe, and was pushed back instead of colliding with the scorer.

The hop-step and "euro-step" look poorly implement or like they're not effected by physics. There should be some risk/reward to using those moves, but it seems like the offensive player can use them undeterred. I'll have to play the demo to see where I stand, though things are looking average.

There was one sequence here that looked really bad.

Stuckey brought the ball up and noone was moving around. They all lined up across the court and one guy decided to halfway run around a screen (I guess it was Rip) and looked like he didnt even want to do it anyway so he just stopped behind one of his teammates at the 3pt line.

That cannot be an authentic play

Edit okay it was Charlie V, and it wasnt even a screen, he just ran completely out of the play behind a teammate like he was hiding from the ball.... that was terrible?

Well when I first saw it, I thought it was for the Wii. Being a huge fan of the NBA, this title falls short of duplicating it so far, but lets see how the demo plays...

I think I know what sequence you're talking about. I noticed as well, I also noticed the black marker on the floor. Where he should of went next for the play to continue, but he just stood there like his cell phone just started buzzing or something.

I think it was at about :40 sec. It looked weird to me also until I seen the Little black marker in the bottom right corner, where I think he was supposed to go. I don't know if that's the reason everyone just stood there or not, but just something I noticed the 2nd or 3rd time I watched it.

Edit @23 oh okay......

Visually the game is just bad but the game play doesn't seem that bad outside of the shooting % which can be adjusted via sliders.

I agree.. raw potential... maybe the correct term? I see that most passes look so completely UGLY but it's not affecting gameplay and guys getting open or the flow of passing. I guess I'm just left overly optismistic that maybe sliders can fix some issues and it becomes an enjoyable alternative to the other game.

After watching this second video, I can see why Kevin Durant looked bored playing the game in the promotional video.

This looks terrible!! Its funny someone mentioned Westbrook running at 1:20....He does look like he is jogging and then pulls up. This looks really bad. Almost like 2k7 right here....

Here is the problem EA took words like total control and RTP and created a basketball game, but we wanted a NBA basketball game. Total control should not result in losing abilities, total control should mean I can do what I want when I want with the particular skill set of the person I am controlling it's that simple, can anyone tell me without the names and the numbers printed on the screen who any of those players were, there was never a moment when someone did something where I can say that was definately Amare Stoudemire or any other NBA player. EA forgot something very important this year, the NBA is different from alot of sports in that there are so many unique players with unique playing styles, from the way they shot to the way they pass, rebound, dribble you take those things away then what is left something really generic.

That was me from my post on the 2nd page.. speedy guys look like light joggers in this game, esp when AI controlled. I dont think the AI is playing to players abilities, such as Westbrook's speed for example.

I wonder what it looks like in broadcast view. i think thats the view most of us would like to see it in. Hopefully they can send out a video that has the broadcast cam view so that we can SEE the change from last year as last years games was shown in broadcast view.

This looks quite promising, and i most definitely believe that it should feel a lot better than how it looks(+it's looking good already).

I have seen the Prince dunk, was that real?

Think of us getting quite a lot of signature plays to this and we'll be holding golden.

The basics are there, flow of the game and movements look good especially post play and interactions to get positions are so real-like.

Thx for the videos.

REanimator, thanks for coming in and answering a few questions. Although I'm a 2k fan, i respect your honesty and not one of these guys that will openly come out and bash a game for the sake of just doing that. Unlike the football genre I want the Elite to get better and succeed b/c competition always get the best out of companies.

Okay with that being said, after watching yesterday's video I have two questions for you.

1.I always wonder if developers, actively sought quality testers to intentionally do things wrong in a game to make sure certain things are persistent in the final game? May be its some you guys do yourselves? EX. Intentionally trying to dunk from the free throw Line w/ Shaq, or trying to go 6 for 6 behind the arc with Shaq, and throwing full court passes constantly with Shaq. I use Shaq b/c at this stage of his career I think we as basketball fans know his limitations and what he can and can not do. So he is a perfect variable.

2. As long as I keep the r-stick straight and release on time I make the shoot. So what differentiates Kyle Korver and the third center on the team? And same question in regards to anyone, particularly pg,sg and sf, that wants drive to the lane? With so much effort place on total control, it seems like the only things that matters are, speed and dribbling. So what's stopping me from using the 3rd pg on the team and making him the second coming of Allen Iverson? As long as i have the stick skills, i can do it right?

I'm going to have to mess with the demo a bit, I hope (but I know it's doubtful) that we can play against somebody else in the demo, so I can get a feel of the game when playing another user and not the AI. I'm still holding out until I play the demo and then I can make some comparisons against Live 10.

@23
I know exactly what play you're talking it was the :30 - :40sec frame of the vid, it was a weird sequence. Looks like it started out as wing iso for Stuckey, and then he ended of using off-ball controls to make Charlie V to go the post.
