Shame really.

I agree 100%. The NFL is all about parity but yet it let a major product get made by only one company. Competition breeds change and progress. I respect the developers but they act like they could care less about the game. All they do is hide behind the "oh we are focused on game play" statement. So they use that as a reason that they ignored the fact that Chris and Gus sound like they aren't in the same stadium.

I mean how could know one in that company bring that up..."um hey does anyone i this room realize our announcing is terrible?" I am not trying to disrespect them but how could these things get ignored unless your lazy. Just my opinion.

Fixed.

Gus is a big improvement over Hammond.

One of the little things that I noticed was that they play the Jeopardy music when the refs are reviewing a play on instant replay. Pretty cool.

The sound is awful right now. I thought when I turned off gameflow it would fix this but it didn't. It's really annoying having the crowd go from screaming to complete silence before every play. Like almost everyone else I don't like the defensive adjustments on the d-pad. I don't care for the new (old) kick meter either.

I hope they fix these things because I enjoy playing Madden more than NCAA but as of right now I would be playing NCAA a lot more than Madden.

I just want to feel like they really listen. I know they have these interviews where they say fans are important, I just wish they would tell us what fans they mean. Because thousands of madden people all the time complain about presentation, and other items, here are my main ones

1. Youve owned ESPN rights for how long? What is the hold up?

2. Why can't announcers be recorded together?

3. Can you make more than 3 ref models? I mean their generic guys but the same refs don't do every game

4. Can you please make a few more cut scenes than just 2 or 4? Every player doesn't hi five all the time.

5. If a franchise is 30 years, why can't the announcer say "Welcome to Superbowl 50"? Is there some rule against that. I mean Gus could take 20 minutes and record that, right?

6. Ok so we have all seen the new Superbowl endings, and I like em.....accept , the fact that its the same after every one!! How about a different cut scene other than commissioner in same darn position? man put some effort into depth of peripheral items please.

7. Ok franchise...I know that they are hampered down with old code...but can I at least switch franchise teams please...I don't want to do 30 years with one team!

8. When I relocate a team why do i have to change uniforms, maybe i want to keep the same uniforms.

9. And that brings me to uniforms!!! Listen there are millions of young talented designers out there who will work for pennies to design logos for madden created teams! The stuff they have on there is a joke! Man they should have a contest and have designers all over the world designing fresh new logos.

There is much more but im tired.

On special teams, I kicked off to the corner and ran out of bounds on coverage , came back in and was the first to contact the receiver...no flag.

Three times in a row in the first quarter I kickoff and hit the return man with the hit stick and he fumbles.

Not too bad of a demo. I'm impressed. The flow of the game is really smooth. I like it.

Love Gameflow, and being able to use the headset... pretty ingenious. But compared to NHL 10, this game is c-h-o-p-p-y!

So I was playing as the Jets tonight and there was a play where they sent Reggie Wayne to a short post pattern. He caught the ball, made a move upfeild and was met by the safety. He was hit, tackeld, taken down but fumbled the ball in the process. Revis was there to pick up the ball and he ran it into the endzone. Out of my curiosity to see if EA did anything new with the "near the goal line marker" leaps I intentionally made Revis jump into the endzone by the pylon/marker.

Okay here is where it gets really bad and stupid on EA's part. There was a review of the play. The ref goes to the monitor... Jeopardy music plays.... they show about 5 different slow motion angles of Revis' jump into the endzone by the pylon. I'm thinking okay, not bad.. they are looking to see if he went out at the 1 or something vs scoring a TD.... The ref comes back and says the ruling on the field was overturned. I'm thinking ok... Jets ball at the 1 yard line then... NOPE... The Colts get the ball back at the place where Wayne got tackled and fumbled the ball. WTFF???? So the actual challenge visual was of wether or not it was a defensive TD but the shotty Madden programming had the decision to be about wether or not Wayne fumbled the ball.

This is just bad people. Thank god NCAA looks to have some seirous legs this year.

Could be a Demo bug and it got fixed before it went gold...

Has anyone messed with sliders for the demo?

# 1033 PGaither84 @ 08/01/10 04:02 AM
Regarding the replay post, it has been in madden for a few years now, and I saw it again tonight... sometimes, if you score a TD but it is ruled incomplete/out of bounds and it goes to the replay and is overturned, you don't get the TD, you get 1st and goal on the one... as though the game thought "X and goal, he got to the goal, so first down... and I guess goal to go." So silly. This happened most often in 09, but I see it pop up from time to time in M10 and once so far in the demo.

That player would be playing bump and run and you could set your other corner to play off by performing up on the analog stick according to who he is covering. You could also shade the reciever's inside as well as outside. Why in the heck did that go away? Its still too much time to select your defensive backfield player before you can hot route him. I dont understand why EA is not building on technology that was present years ago.
They did take it out a few years back, but it has been back in the game the last couple years. Just highlight the player and select hot route.

The QB's are much easier to sack this year than last year, they hold onto the ball much longer now unless you are playing on all madden then everything goes out the window.

Small thing but check out what happens when you play Colts vs Colts or Jets vs Jets. Collinsworth talks about cloning.

But the more notable thing is not that they bothered to record dialogue for if you play with the same team but that there's multiple takes. When I did Colts vs. Colts, they said completely different things in the beginning than when I did Jets vs. Jets.

does anyone else think that the demo is clunky...sure it looks pretty but i swear it ran smoother on my ps2 from 2004...hope this isnt the final product.

LOL...I've played about 9 games thus far and in every single one, Bob Sanders comes up lame at some point.

I really don't like the new audible system. New gamers might like it, but anyone that is experienced in Madden will absolutely hate it. It takes more time to do less. It feels like you have to click more buttons, to make less happen. I have no idea what kind of a parodoxical world they wanted to create, when making the game faster with GameFlow, then slowing it right back down with the "strategy pad."

For me, this has made the demo absolutely unplayable.
i agree exactly with u on every point

God I hope the game is far more polished than this. The play art is downright ugly, it's almost impossible to set up your offense or defense with the "strategy" pad, and running out in open field is boring. It's boring because you can't cut back. I thought their approach this year was complete control with the left stick...you can't stutter step, you can't make a quick cut, the running game in open field seems completely off. NCAA's demo seems a lot more polished and is a lot more fun. And their approach to play calling makes tons more sense.

Also, personally I think they should just make the game normal speed. I think that they should get rid of the speed sliders because it just makes the game seem like it's not finished and they're depending on us to complete the job. That was all good last year, but I think they should've upped the anti this year. I'm going to redownload it and see if I can get accustomed to it, but my first impression is that madden is a pass this year...again.
