We're trying to clean it up. Negativity is fine, however non-constructive criticism, telling a developer to "**** off", etc. is not.
And as a final warning to any other readers, TOS Violations won't be tolerated by any members in this thread.
An impressions thread and my gf... 2 things that can be saved by a chubby banana after midnight. Hope that doesn't violate tos lol.
To the poster above.. The "it" hasn't hit me either. I think with longer quatrers full presentation etc... It will. This game to plays diff than 10. I like it more... I agree with whover said its like what 10 should/couldve been. I'm excited... But my 60 is gonna be hard for ea to earn
The problems of the past are still in the game. Suction blocking, ball and player morphing, even the stupid AI. I had a situation playing as the jets where the colts came out in a 3 dline set, at the snap of the ball the LG, center, and RG all BLOCKED THE NOSE TACKLE. ON ALL MADDEN. They didn't let him go either, they all blocked one guy. All the while Freeney was handing my tackle his jock strap.
Of all of the additions/gimmicks to this years game, the most irritating of them all is the strategy pad. Now I'm sure this was done to ease the pain of the nano considering how long it takes to make adjustments with this new layout, but it also makes it virtually impossible to make adjustments in an online game. So is Madden faster... more than likely it is because not only do you have to run with the play you've picked or waste a time out, you can barely call for extra protection from your backs or TE. Who knows if they have the hardcore controls in the game, I'm so fed up with Madden at this point I really don't care anymore. Gameflow, Gameplan and the strategy pad all killed my love for this game.
Ohh yeah, having Gus read from a script was a waste of money, they could have kept the other guy for that.
First time in 20 years I won't be buying Madden:cry:
At first I didn't like the demo, but the more I played it the more I started enjoying the game.
+ Gus Johnson doing the commentary sounds much better and more refreshing than Tom Hammond.
+ Like NCAA 11, Locomotion is something great for the series. Running the ball is finally fun.
+ I really like gameflow, its now possible for games to be 30 minutes instead of a 1 hr. Plus it adds a realism to the game by having a coordinator making the calls.
+ Sideline catches, FINALLLY!
- Where in the blue hell is Chris Collinsworth, does he not like Gus or something. He barely talks.
- I hope they tweak Gus's calls, it still sounds like he's in a booth at Tiburon.
- The QB doesn't take sacks again, I hope they patch that soon. Its not a "game killer" for me but its annoying.
The answer to the questions about where is Chris and them tweaking Gus, wait till the final build. In the final build those two sometimes talk almost the entire drive.
Jvalverde, when I played 10 last year at first I was disappointed... Then it grew on me. I think and want to think ill like 11 more... I liked it immediately. Not sure I like gameflow but will get into gameplan tomorrow... And see. Has anyone tested challenges? Do replays still not match result. This is one thing I would Love to fix

Thanks that is good to hear, figured that is the case never was really worried.
To me M11 plays like NCAA 11 but feels different, if that makes sense.
It does to me. Its like Ian and the NCAA team took similar approaches, and then gave them a distinct college/NFL feel. There is a difference, and to me that's a positive
It looks like Madden has the same psychic man coverage DBs as NCAA. I only played 2 games of the demo but it appeared that they might be worse in Madden.
I hope EA patches the psychic man coverage in both games soon because it is an offline game killer for me. Next year they need separate man and zone coverage sliders.

That's not a bad idea, if it could be implemented properly... It may something that breaks more than it fizes at the present time... But its been there so long, I bet its a difficult fix

I agree. I'm also getting the feeling that just like NCAA, once we get the retail version it will cut down on some of the excess sliding I've seen and tightening everything up.
Also I think I'm going to hate teams that blitz a lot even more this year. I can't play with the Colts on this demo.

... I think that were going to really tell the difference between teams this year... That's what gameflow is to me... The part were seeing of revamped playcall ai. I may be wrong but I'm excited.
I remember when madden first switched to team specific playbooks way back when... I thought itd be horrible, lol. I remember that when I complain about changes before giving them a chance lol... I'm excited but still not a first day purchase for me. Is it for you?
I'm an offline player so I candeal with learning the strategy pad.
Locomotion means a lot with the forcefields and sliding. Sliding happens but not as often as previous versions to pull your hair about.
NOTE: This demo is not the final build so some people should stop bitching about sliding since the NCAA 11 demo had sliding everywhere while the retail had it minimal.
Also, I do hope they fix the franchise stats... I do not want 20 HBs with 1,500 yards rushing and crap QBs like Delhomme passing 4,000 yards with 50 TDs like the previous version. PLEASE FIX THAT EA

I think EA's plan this year was to make teams distinct from each other in the football franchises.
NCAA with the multiple offenses and Madden with Gameflow. Or maybe its just a coincidence, lol.
Play Action is an automatic sack. The OTs just watch the DEs go by sometimes.
Strategy Pad is driving me nuts. Why should I have to press more buttons to get the same result as past games?
I think I'm gonna end up using Gameplan, but not Gameflow. LOVE the idea of setting up gameplans, but I want to call my own plays.
I'm creating a ridiculous amount of separation on out routes sometimes. The CB either warps away from the WR or sometimes he turns and runs like it's going to be a go route. That creates way too much separation.
In my little time playing it I've seen what I need to see. Madden 11 is gonna be a pretty solid football game. It is basically what we've all come to expect, so people freaking out simply have no reason to other than to blow steam. Since EA has pretty much said they're holding out until next year (hopefully we'll have REAL football next year too), I cant be too mad at this installment.
The game is pretty darn fun, if you ask me. Animations, specifically wide receiver and some running instances, look pretty good. I LOVE the fact that there is now a feature to turn Auto Strafe off. My defensive players feel more free and react more realistically without the auto strafe. It actually takes me back to the good ol' days of Madden 05 and 06 on PS2.
Graphics are amazing, but could be stepped up even more IMO. Peyton Manning warming up looks amazing, but those graphics dont translate too well during play. Overall the game is a beauty. The shadowing of the players adds another layer of realism. New Meadowlands looks great as well. I'd still more happening on the sidelines. Whatever happened to those pixelated cheerleaders EA? Cheerleaders are just as important to football as beer.
Honestly my only complaint would have to be the strategy pad. It's clunky, confusing and time consuming. The best thing about it, at least on defense, is the better disguising of plays due to the players positioning themselves in a more realistic manner. Offensively it's just to much to press especially with an accelerated clock. Could I learn it/master it? I most certainly can. Should I have had to is the question.
Overall I'll give the demo a 7. It would be an easy 9 with Madden 10's audible system combined with the better positioning that Madden 11 provides. Madden 11 will definitely serve it's purpose this year. Madden 12 needs to blow me and all of us out of the water though.

I have challenged two things, both a catch that I thought was in from the quick replay they showed me and a fumble that I thought ballcarrier was down.
On both the replays you could clearly see what was the correct call. On the Catch the receiver was clearly out of bounds, but I couldn't tell. So I lost that challenge.
On the Fumble I thought he was down and when they reviewed the replay you could see that his knee was down. I won that one.
So I think the "replays emulating the correct calls" have been tweaked a bit. It might not be right all the time, but it does seem better IMO.
You can also throw it before the WR makes his cut. Route based passing people should be happy, other than the fact that a 5 yard out routinely becomes a 50 yard gain. The CBs get so out of position.
