Heads up for those curious - there is a broadcast camera in the Madden 11 demo. You just can't play with it because you can't change the angle during the game.
It shows up when you just let the game run after starting the demo. Soon a CPU vs CPU game will load up, and you'll see the broadcast cam.
It's pretty much the same angle as last year, as far as I can tell.
I'm not actually going to be playing it until later on - I just can't pull myself away from Starcraft II right now.
Played demo today on my ps3.(have not downloaded on 360 yet)
I really thought gus was okay. I also liked some of the sideline catches.
The coach in the headset makes me think of driver on ps1 or somthing like that. The guy sounds like a wannabe kiper or somthing corny.
This is a no buy from me the first time in about 7 years. To me ncaa is not perfect but better for my cash. I really like the feel of the NFL better though. I get sick of ncaa's grating drums after first downs.
With madden the tackles and also the running is horrible to me. This is just not a good game. It's just so boring to play somtimes.
For the love of God stop with the 2K talk.
Why doesn't anyone remember the money corner routes, the awkward tilt-a-running animation etc...
I loved the game(bought 2 copies) but it was never the game people want to remember it was and the is the MADDEN forum.
the demo felt okay.
the kicking meter reminded me of NFL blitz the arcade game.
NCAA 11 demo had a little wow factor while madden 11 is stale regarding presenation.
I wish Madden could use the espn intergration like NCAA.
I am kind of surprised at how much complaining is going on, both on the Madden and NCAA board. This year, at least to me, is shaping up to be the best football year this gen. Not only this gen but ever IMO (and I have been playing Madden and NCAA every year since 1993!).
One thing I like is that although both Madden and NCAA has some similar feel to each other, they still feel a little different. I can see myself alternating between these two games until next year this time (I usually sell both around January). This is the year I have been waiting for, for a very long time.
i can understand why you would be suprised. outside of strat pad, madden 11 is outstanding. AFTER the ball is snapped, i absolutely love the game. but strat pad ruins it for me.
if strat pad doesnt bother you, i can see why you'd love the game.
Good.
I've yet to see a LB super jump so don't understand the complaining of that. Here's a quick (IPhone) vid of a LB ,that if super jump was there, would have batted it. Not saying it doesn't happen..just that I haven't seen it bad yet.
Bad: I thought we were supposed to be close to the "If the DB isn't looking at the direction of the play, he won't make a play"..etc...etc...
This is really irritating and hopefully better in retail.
Been lurking for a year and decided to sign up and chime in....
Off top, I've been a 2k5/2k8 guy forever. I would debate anybody on how 2k8 is better than Madden 10. This year I finally can say I see an enjoyable game that, while not close to perfect by any means is the nearest thing to 'sim football' this gen. Little things like the running animations, the lighting, the footwork and acceleration that kept 2k ahead of Madden have finnaly been done well by EA. I played the demo this morning and saw a lot of what I loved about 2k in this game, which is a great compliment to this years edition. I fully expect the retail version to be the best football game this gen.
Great post Pwss, I can't wait for Aug 10 because the demo was solid IMO I just bumped the gamespeed up to fast and was ready to roll.

I'm only buying one football game this year, so I held off on NCAA until I could play the Madden demo. With all the praise for NCAA and hatred toward Madden, I was starting to wonder if I should have just bought NCAA on release day.
After some more time with both demos tonight, I'm feeling good about my Madden preorder. As I said earlier, NCAA made a bigger jump from 10 to 11, but it had further to go. It didn't quite catch Madden, IMHO.
I can't believe so many people are throwing tantrums about the strategy thing, which takes 2 minutes to learn, and nobody is talking about the horrific pass blocking. Before I can even read the defense I'm getting destroyed. I look at the replay and 2 or 3 linemen are getting beat clean. It looks like my tackles are wearing grease because DEs are just sliding off them. I changed the CPU pass rushing to 15 and the 1st play of the game I got sacked and fumbled. Looked at the replay and the NT was on the outside shoulder of Mangold and a LB was showing blitz on the outside shoulder of Moore (RG). Common football sense would have Mangold take the NT and Moore take the LB. Instead Mangold took nobody, Moore took the NT and the LB took the ball.

Gameflow is the same as "ask madden" except you get the audio and text.
No, not really.
It plays to each team's tendencies, it has a better sense of the playcalling situation (3rd and long - pass/draw, 3rd and short - run, etc), you don't have to go into the playbook, from what I've noticed it doesn't tell you to run a fake punt run on every 4th down, and it's just all around better than Ask Madden.
Just played the demo and gave up on around the end of the 3rd quarter. The game has definitely improved but there was still a few minor errors.
1) I just barely made a 54 yd field goal and Collinsworth and Johnson are talking like i just missed it. It was one of those kicks where it morphed into the post lol
2) It was 2nd n 5 and Addai got a 4 yd run so it was 3rd n inches but Johnson was talking like it was 4th down and we had stopped him.
3) Also when gameflow was activated, i never heard the commentators voice for some reason, idk if it was messing up but after i clicked on gameflow each time the whole stadium got quiet until either I hiked the ball or they hiked the ball so it was a weird moment of silence.
After that like i said, just got bored of it but the kicking meter i do like and the gameplan should be good to use, but i don't think its worth a purchase as of right now but when football season comes around i might need my football fix n IDK if NCAA can do that.
Ok now I have play the ps3 version. earlier i commented on the 360 version . same out come. good game but not great. and that game pad control is pissing my off seriously. I wasn't planning on getting the game but I was hoping the demo would waver back madden. but game pad have made me absolute hate this game. like the presentation, hate models, like game flow, HATE GAME PAD, like locomotion On NCCA it feels none existence on here . it took me about 40 mins to play a game. I don't know about quicker with all the animation. and I hate that kicking meter. I had to mash the button down to make accurate kick. to me played batter on the 360 but this still not worth buying. EA NOTE GET RID OF GAME GAMEPAD!!! If you don't this be worse madden since cone vision . people buy ncca if want play football
