Is this bdarnell from VN and member of the most entertaining OD known to man?

Yep, I noticed that too.

Other than my above mentioned fumble fest (ended up with five fumbles) the game looks gorgeous. I love the new camera, and the lighting is doing wonders to make this game engine look new. I think I might be sold, especially if I'm not fumbling every drive in the other matchups.

PS3 thoughts. I've played at least one half with or against all 8 teams.

First off, I will say this game feels nearly nothing previous NCAA's, and that is a GOOD thing.

I have a lot of pros, but I'll just list the few cons.

-One concern is that Texas ran WAY too much no huddle. I dont ever recall them running much at all in real life, and they ran it about 90% of the game. Even at the end when they should have been running the clock out. I hope this logic is not in the final build

- Still too dark in most cases for my liking. A "partly cloudy" game yields a bit too much darkness in some parts of the field for my liking. And this is a bad thing since the default is usually 75 and partly cloudy for this game. That being said, when in the sun, it looks AWESOME. OU's jerseys have never looked better than this in any NCAA game.

Some positive:

The CPU run game is finally on point. They are decisive, make good choices, and yield decent yardage without a bunch of stutter-running.

THe game speed is ok, however, I'm hoping we can slow it down a notch. I'm hoping the speed slider works both ways and not just increase.

Defense is playable, which is good being that we've heard so much about offense. I've gotten picks and knckdowns pretty frequently, and th egame doesnt complete every pass.

Right now, this game looks great!

HOWEVER, all that being said, I'm still a skeptic of the final build. Because the demo for NCAA '09 was awesome, the defense was even with the offense, but when the final game came out you could play ZERO defense, and the cpu completed nearly every pass. The overall game was terrible.

So right now, I definitely plan to buy it, but will wait to see others takes.

I played a couple more games.

Screens are a LOT of fun! They look really sharp.

I really like the definitive playbooks. You really feel like you are running an offensive scheme and not just a 300 play book of anything like Madden offers.

Locomotion looks great on defense. I missed a lot of tackles because I mis-judged my acceleration and momentum. That's a good thing!

Things feel a lot more organic when reading coverages. Defenders in zone don't feel so awkward like they did in previous games. Guys aren't warping and jumping 20 feet in the air in zone to make ridiculous plays. The defenses feel actually beat-able in the right way. Again, I go back to the route concepts I ran and just how the correct players got open and the "occupier" routes did their job.

Running has a nice balance in my opinion. Guys on D hold their gap and shed blocks to make plays. It's fun to see a defensive front pre-snap with the blocking animations. I can start to understand where some runs aren't feasible against some fronts. I like that a lot.

I like how you can't scramble INSTANTLY anymore. QB's have to take a step or 2 to get going and scramble. This is part of locomotion.

INT's are definitely not rampant on tipped balls. They have much improved that aspect of the game.

Wobbly passes on replays are a nice touch (I never played NCAA10 so I don't know if they were in that).

Big hits look really good. The hitstick is harder to use. On the other hand I have yet to truck a defender. My timing is still bad.

It's much harder to break tackles post contact unlike Madden. In fact, most my fumbles come from me trying to truck or juke after being wrapped up. It looks like in NCAA11 we'll have to make our moves before contact if we want them to succeed often.

Pro-tak is sporadic and faster. I like that. There's less "struggle" time after trying to break tackles so things flow much nicer.

You can beat zones DEEP! YES! This provides incentive for defenses to play more off coverage against legit deep threats when they can't match up speed-wise at DB. FINALLY!

The playbooks are nice and basic on D. I like that at the college level. Hurry up is a cool feature. I think your available plays shrink as time passes by when picking plays on D against hurry up offense. That's a cool way to add pressure.

Overall... I'm extremely impressed with this game and have very high hopes for it and M11. Here's to a great year of football gaming, guys!

Maybe it's because I didn't play ncaa 10, but the player interaction is bad. The way back get stuck behind the line and do nothing to try and free themselves just looks ugly. The line play is simply horrible looking imo.

WR/DB interactions at the line look and work great though. I've also seen some really nice tip pass animations.

Overall though this game has many of the same issues we all know, and have yet to be fixed. Mirror man to man has to go. I can play cover 1 the entire game a shutout the AI on heisman.

The no huddle so far seems like a joke. It's ran way too fast and cheesy. Let's hope it's fixed by the final build.

Please keep in mind: we are dealing with the DEMO. This isn't the final build. Relax.

I played a game (Florida vs Florida State) and from what I've seen, we are in for a treat. As Playmaker said, with sliders, this game will be brilliant once the final build is done. I loved the presentation, it really added to the game.

The replays were a little scratchy as was the coloring to an extent, but I ain't too worried, everything will be cut and polished before it's shipped.

The initial signs are good, I look forward to the release of NCAA 11.

really wish they would've done like Madden and updated the kicking meter. No challenge with the present one.

A few things I noticed:

My first thought when i played this was, this is the game we shouldve been playing for the past 2-3 years on the next gen consoles. Im not whining. This game looks great. Alot of the new features are last gen upgrades (fans, pre/post-game, entrances, etc.)

The game speed was very fast. I assume its because they want us to get the most out of the demo. It made it difficult to read the offensive keys. I believe it will be slowed down in the retail version.

The pump fake didnt work. It only worked when i pump faked backwards.

The Computer AI is much much much improved. cpu rb's followed blocks.

Animations were improved

Locomotion wasnt the insane step up that I had expected, but its a move in the right direction. Locomotion created more fluid movements and a more fluid game. The controls were more sensitive and responsive. I had to adjust, because I was so used to having to make a movement on the controller a full second before the player would respond.

I did notice the accelerated clock.

The camera angles were a bit tight and they switched alot. It made me dizzy at first.

The espn wipes are a nice touch, but didnt warrant the early hype.

Overall the demo shows a much better game than anything else ive seen from this franchise for next gen consoles. Like I said earlier this is what Ive been expecting for 3 years. Its water under the bridge now, but it just makes me question why we had to wait this long for a quality product.

last words: Im stoked for july 13

The more I play, I like it even more...

Playing the PS3 version now:

- PS3 ball spirals in replays. Wooooo-hoo! Finally.

- PS3 demo has correct Play of the Game and a couple of replays and a screenshot. Maybe this is a HDD thing or something for the demo. Who knows.

- DeMarco Murray caught a swing pass from Jones (CPU) and stayed in bounds, then went 55 yds for the score in 1st qtr (P.O.T.G. highlight).

- Sick INT by CPU for Okie. Deflected by the D and a DB came in a slid on his knees and secured the ball before it hit the ground. All hands! It was nasty. Great replay of it too.

- Very cool celebration by Oklahoma after they beat me 14-7. Player diving everywhere and my OL walking away in disgust. Felt like the old days on the XBOX and PS2. Good stuff.

One big negative though: The CPU WRs all became DBs by the end of a no-huddle drive for Oklahoma. It was probably about 9 or 10 plays long. I hope the depth chart issue of the past isn't still present in '11.

Time to play some more...and more...and more.

one thing I'm learning quickly on the d-line is that less in more. In the way of using the r-stick to make moves. I set them up with movement and then quickly use the r-stick to make a move.

2 sacks myself in the current FSU/Fla matchup.

# 777 khaled @ 06/14/10 10:20 PM
just played as OSU, up 10-7 with 19 secs left. Hail-mary. they catch it can score. i'm down 14-10 with 9 secs left. kick off and i get to to 30 with one man to beat, just as i was gonna score, he dives and ends the game. wow
I'm getting used to this, but the play-call screen is still hard, the game is waaay to fast.

# 778 ugotjackdup @ 06/14/10 10:20 PM
It says in the controls screen, that the right stick moves are locked for the demo, does that mean the truck stick isnt working? because the jukes still seem to work. Does that mean we may have some different animations in store?

I was just wondering the same thing. I have played Mizzou and OK and still have not seen it.

I even tried calling an audible during no-huddle and didn't see it. Weird.
