1) I score a rushing touchdown and then it asks me if I want to kick off or onside kick. I choose onside for the heck of it and then I noticed the score is 8-0 though I never attempted a 2 point conversion or an extra point.

2) I was playing defensive tackle and when the ball was snapped, my DT didnt move for about two seconds.

3) They kicked off to me after scoring a fieldgoal at the end of the half and after the kick return, the clock still continued to count down.
Thanks for that. I honestly can say that the only one I have noticed is the punt/field goal roughing the kicker.

Again, I'm not expecting perfection from any game, just true effort to please the fans.

Am I the only one getting this? I get a roughing the kicker over and over I'm on Pro and Easy mode) but c'mon 4 times in a row? This happens every time they are backed up.

I was originally just waiting to receive the ball as usual with most games, didn't even think to go on the line because in the other games it doesn't even help.

Well this does help as it's great to rush the Kicker or anyone.. but the problem remains.. if I take control of a defensive lineman and rush the kicker my CPU guy runs INTO the kicker over and over... too quickly for me to stop him because they're so backed up.

So far on Pro and easy mode I don't think the cpu has ran for more than 2 yards total in about 4 games.
1 completed pass in 4 games. Is it just easy mode?

I hope if I increase the mode it won't happen.

This game definitely has a different feel to it, and welcome different feel. Running game seems nice passing is fine not sure how the defense is because no matter what I do I either sack the QB or an Incomplete pass again on easy mode.

Anyone else have this problem with the roughing the kicker many times?

Liked everything except the camera movement and zoom on offense other than that i'm good

Using the right stick to juke/spin/truck feels good and works fluently, but Madden's been doing it for years and they're improving on it this year. As far as the rest of the game goes, it's like they took Madden's Superstar mode and made it into a game, which is not a good thing. Yes, you can switch players, but too often on defense, you aren't even a part of the play.

Speaking of defense, the lack of control is astounding. You have no ability whatsoever to jump up to tip or intercept a pass. None. You just have to stand by the receiver and hope your man automatically jumps up and catches it. I'm complaining even though I got interceptions on nearly every pass. I saw no tips whatsoever in all the games I played.

The fact that fact that you face the same direction whether on offense or defense is really off-putting. In fact, everything about the camera angles sucks. I get that they were trying to put you "in the game", but you can't see anything downfield while passing. And, speaking of passing, they again ripped off Madden. Their receiver switching mechanism is exactly the same as the "vision cone" from Madden, just without the actual cone shape shown on the field. Again, not a good thing.

At its core, the game is pretty fun, but it falls well short of the hype. Not one single thing aside from the physics engine/tackling is better than Madden, NCAA, or the 2K series. Combine that with the fact that this game will drop in price to $30, if not $20, by the time the NFL regular season starts... I'll pick it up for that price, but I have no problem waiting. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who has become increasingly frustrated and angry with how Madden 10 plays, the more time I spend with it.

Overall impression: Thumbs in the middle.

Pros:

- Euphoria makes such a huge differance in every single area of the game. HUGE addition to BB and will only get more impressive the more you play. Great accomplishment right there. In practice i ran the drill to RUN INSIDE. DId that about 50 times...Dont recall seeing the same tackles...SWEET!

- Camera is great IMHO. Sure it will take some getting used to and it should. We have been playing from GODS VIEW for over 20 yrs (many of us anyway). Wonderful view for the game of football.

- Identity...Natural Motion has established itself and has actually done something quite differant and it works.

- Gameplay. BB Plays NOTHING like what we have had in the past...NOTHING at all. This is a GREAT thing honestly.

-AI- This was my biggest concern. On NORMAL (pro Mode not Arcade) the AI seems MORE than up to the task without being CHEAP. This makes me very happy. WR were covered when they should. I got to the QB a few times and got 3 sacks in my time with the DEMO. Same for the CPU. Passing will take PRACTICE (never thought i would say that).

Cons:

-Camera: Although is listed it as a pro (which it is) it can be a bit touchy. Sure it has a bit to do with the game being a demo and possible a slightly older build. Either way it has its good and bad points.

-Defense: Again, with practice, the new perspective will still take some getting used to and DL moves and getting a good jump off the line is gonna take alot of practice. This area may turn some people away mainly due to the fact your view is limited and when swithcing players the camera can really goof you up and cost you.

-Playbooks: Maybe it is the DEMO, but even tho all teams have a slightly differant playbook (good selection of plays overall tho) seems like formations are pretty vanilla. This area doesnt bother me really as i figured there would only be 1-2 total playbooks. Some could be put off.

All in ALL the demo solidified my purchase...I am very pleased. Hope ROad to BB and their "Franchise" mode really adds to the experience (dont plan on playing online). So the franchise modes are really gonna determine how much i get put of it
What's up SAINT? Playing defense bothered me at first until I got a good feel for it. It's definitely different and I even try to play it like I was playing NCAA 10 on defense. Now this is not a comparison, but I do feel that NaturalMotion has done a great job on the defensive side of the ball. I was getting lost at first, but I think it takes more time and more games under our belts to get a good feel for what they wanted us to feel.

tackle alley is a pretty fun mini game. glad they included this in the demo!!

The first penalty I saw was an illegal touching of a forward pass when a lineman turned around and caught a screen pass. Haven't seen any roughing yet like some of you are experiencing.

I've seen one roughing the kicker in 10 games. I like how it's rougher than the NFL, you can kill the qb after he releases the ball, just can't do it crazy late.

everyone should try playing indy on hard! I haven't beat them yet. It's a real manning in there! their defence is better than the colts though

Playing AS indy it's much easier completing passes too. The teams are all fairly different to me. So far OLB is the best position to play as on D.

I really wish I could have buttons for passing and stick for running though.

Overall I like it more and more as I play it.

I think it's pretty safe to say there's a new kid on the block and he's kicking some arse! I love how important special teams are in this game. Fumbles are right on as far as frequency...the only thing I'm seeing too much of is interceptions - but a lot of that has to do with the team matchups. Everytime I play indy the guy puts up similar numbers to manning. However I have played other teams and got 3 ints in the half (2min quarters)...Every game is different that's for sure, and every game you see at least a couple of things that amp you up and say wow. I absolutely love the randomness.

edit; where's my buddy jmood? where you at son! jk... I'd really like to hear what you think about it though. There are some negatives for sure, but I haven't played a demo this much since ufc2009. I've been playing for almost 4 hours straight.

Get your skills up! BB is rocks! Yes there are some areas that may seem to need some improvements (Being a Demo game) however I'm sold! My hopes are BB will get enough support so NM will develop a second game. That is where I believe Fans support will help them develop the ultimate game.
June 1 cant come quick enough for me. Can't wait to start building my own league.

on a squib kick, because I screwed up, 2 CPU OL both went for the bouncing high ball and knocked each other over

I wish you could switch receivers with the triggers or something because it takes too long this way I think and you don't have a lot of time in the pocket as it is. Other than that I love the game.

# 213 p_rushing @ 05/21/10 04:50 PM
The muffed punts going into the endzone rules are correct.

You can switch WRs before play by using Focus and R-Stick

wow, it feels so nice to finally have a new fresh football game.

having said that, man i really suck at this game right now.
I wish i could turn down the game speed or something.

I find myself losing my bearings on some pass plays, and even running the wrong way a couple of times.

Wish i could just zoom out a little bit. not a lot , but just a little more.
definitely a steep learning curve here.

but honestly, its better than i thought it would be so far.

Still loving the tackles and animations in this game. It's a sight to behold.

Last game, punted a ball and three players tried to catch it and they all went down like bowling pins. Interesting.

Another missed XP after a TD for the A.I. That's 7 missed XP's for the A.I. in five games, three on pro hard.

Also, I question the A.I's decision in the 1st quarter up 12 to 0 to go for two. I think most of the time, coach's are happy to be up by 13 and kick the XP.

Also, another weird time management call. The A.I. is up 14 to 0 with 21 seconds left in the half and the ball on their 20. They come out in GL formation, so, I think they will run out the clock with 21 ticks left. They run straight ahead and for 4 yds and then call timeout with 12 seconds left. Weird. They came out with 3 wide and tried to pass the ball and I intercept.

Just seeing some questionable playcalls and time management issues throughout the 5 games I've played.

Also, not one penalty thrown, either.

Still a good game, but I need to see more of the A.I.

I think the special teams are too loose. I've gotten numerous roughing the kicker penalties. i just got a blocked punt last game where the offense's blocker strafed in front of the punter and blocked if for me. Keep in mind it's a punt RETURN play not a block attempt. Not a fan.

The player interactions are definitely phenomenal at all aspects of tackling and blocking. I had one play where I was the MLB and I kept grinding and fighting through a blocker with the HB behind him so the rest of my team could come in and wrap the guy up. It felt great. Plays consistently feel that way. The tackles don't get old. They all make sense...very free flowing.

The jump passes are bad to be honest. The CPU is doing that garbage all the time. DL gets penetration so fast and the QB doesn't seem capable of handling it.

I like how difficult pass accuracy is, but so far I'm really struggling to switch WR. I was kind of hoping they'd let us change who the primary WR is. I feel like I'm almost forced to hit my first read.

I also have not seen a tipped pass. Not one. Every pass has been an INT attempt by defenders. Every single one.

QB scrambling seems too easy. I've had pass plays where I didn't see anything open and instead I tucked it down and ran for over 15 yards easily. I remember that preview a long time ago griping about the D not recognizing the QB scrambles. There may be a grain of truth to that article.

All in all I'm still on the fence. I saw some great pass blocking schemes and I LOVE how messy the game plays... that's real sport. I just don't know if I'd play this game seriously online. I'll probably end up waiting until release to see how online lag is and if they have any regulation of CAP teams. I don't feel like screening games to face a non-99 OVR team.

After playing for awhile, I will say, what this game does well it really does well. I know the camera is supposed to be realistic, but I'm literally sick to my stomach from all of the quick switching and I have a headache from it. Now of course, one my say, is BB the cause? I would respond, who knows. But I've been taking my allergy medicine every morning and felt fine. I'm on the same eating regimen from the start of the month. I really like what they accomplished with the pass protection schemes and I like that there is pre-snap movement on defense and you get a lot of different looks in the box.

For those of you who have the demo could you answer these questions?

What are the categories for the attributes of the Offensive/Defensive players?

What are the numerical ranges for these attributes? (Ex. 1-100, etc.)

A ha! Thank you! I was getting mad because I'd read something pre-snap but I couldn't move the WR over fast enough.
