"BACKBREAKER™ is a new, revolutionary football experience that takes you straight onto the field. Breakthrough euphoria tackles, non-canned animation, and stunning on-field graphics make BACKBREAKER™ the first truly live football game."
One thing I do wish was toned down is the jump passes. I really wish they weren't in the game or at least extremely rare. One of the few negatives for me so far.
Even though I have seen a couple amazing looking hits off the those jump passes. Had one where my qb jumped and got hit by a guy low and than another guy came over the top and slammed him.
Not sure what you mean here. Are you playing on Pro or Arcade? Are you talking about shifting or simply calling the defensive formation to match up with the offenses personal? The latter you can defiantly do.
It does show you the personal on the offense, right above where you call your play. You just have to wait a second for the CPU to select it's play.
yeah i noticed that my second go around. i guess i was too busy checking out other stuff to actually notice it earlier. now that i see that isn't an issue i don't have any issues besides the fact that i suck at playing qb.
Is it too much to ask to get impressions instead of all the whining about Madden??? I want to know what folks think about the BB Demo....I already know what folks think of Madden. Save it for those forums over there--->
Anyways, mine just started downloading, woke up late, and obviously in a bad mood. But seems like minor details are the only problems here...still looking for more impressions...keep them coming.
Most of the passes are over the shoulder catches and if you lead them theyll stretch out to catch. Not much variation but you hardly notice because of the utter chaos going on around you which really simulates really being on a footbal field.
Once all the excitement of the tackling engine wears off, I think what will make this game extend its dynamics is the ability to demonstrate the subtle differences an nuances of the different player's attributes...At least for me, this is one of a sports games biggest differentiators.
Are you guys noticing the differences in player ratings and abilities to make the game feel really dynamic or do you think everyone seems to be performing more on a linear platform?
You do notice differences in players speed and abilities. You can tell the difference in the average and good players QB the most prevailiant

I have defiantly noticed a difference in the players and their abilities. In one of the other threads they gave an overview of each team in the demo and from what I have seen each team and player they talked about in that overview plays pretty much exactly how they described them.
For example it talked about the QB for the Cougars team being a great QB. When I played with them I could defiantly tell he was more accurate and was a better QB than the other ones in the demo.
The others positions besides QB seem to be a little less pronounced in terms of differentiating players, but you can still notice the difference.

Thx man...appreciate that..Yeah, the only time I'll notice is during highlights, thats where I'm concerned. Sounds like it feels right, besides a few details to be ironed out, (some of the stiff looking moves, for example) sounds like they started on the right foot.
My internet is...Wow...Love it. Got it already, thx again.
does anyone know if it has the option to be locked onto one player until you change? like other ps3 users I can't wait until Tuesday.
pete
saw an option for player lock (any player) but did not try
some WOW moments... love the camera, love the stick controls.. all a little sparse but graphics still look better than any sports game yet (although not as realistic) and the physics engine is just OMG, insane.

There are definite differences in the way players perform. Part of the issue with it being really noticeable imo is that we're playing with fictional players. Hard to look at a player from a particular team and say "that's how he should behave/perform". It's a big downside on Backbreaker's part not to have players that are easily identifiable, but it speaks to the quality of the demo that there is differentiation between the players. Although it does make me think how cool it would be to play safety in this game as an appropriately spec'd out Troy Polamalu/Ray Lewis/etc., or Adrian Petersen/Randy Moss/etc. As it is now it's hard to know how fictional players should perform, unless you dig into their ratings. The differences are noticeable though. And visible in the many videos online
WOW im downloading it now ,and I could really give a damn about any reviews of the demo. Even from this site, but I do respect the thoughts of the members in this site, and many of you are enjoying this game.
Man I feel hyped. I felt this game was going to be a pleasant surprise.
