We have just posted our hands-on NCAA Football 11 preview. Find out what Christian McLeod has to say about the game, a few months before release.
Quote:
"The NCAA series used to be my favorite sports franchise. I use the past tense because ever since the series came to current-gen consoles the gameplay quality and presentation values have taken steps backwards, culminating in the extremely disappointing NCAA Football 10.
So my mission was clear at this preview event in New York: track down those responsible for the development of the series, ask them the tough questions that the OS faithful expect and see just what was so special about this year's version of the game, especially after years of disappointment.
But before I go any further, I wanted to bring up one thing. In today’s world of yearly sports releases of varying quality, it is quite easy to scapegoat a developer or producer, placing the blame on those particular individuals for the quality of their aforementioned game. Our forum users here at OS have a somewhat notorious reputation for holding development teams to somewhat impossible standards at times -- just look at the 180-degree turn in excitement for NCAA 11 after the initial "gameplay" video was posted on site."
Finally, will there be more gameplay enhancements announced, that havent been talked about yet, as we get closer to launch or are most the gameplay enhancements out of the bag by now?
Im really hoping for a new kicking meter, some kind of re-write to the passing game, and bettwer WR/DB interaction.
Thanks for taking the time to write that review and answer our questions!

Lot's more to come- trust me. Russ has let me know that there are some announcements that will make people very happy
I am very excited! I have been playing Madden/NCAA since 92' and have hated the last 5 years of next-gen gaming. Obviously, it is still possible that both these games flop but I am going to be optimistic and say this years is finally "the year."
I know we say that every year but I think the developers are finally getting the next gen tech under control. Also, in Ian's second year of leadership I think the direction is finally stable.
I told you guys it was a mix up on that vid, Now all we need to know is if coaching changes made it into the game this year because we dont have bowl patches. So please have coaches getting fired if demands are not met.
Very nice writeup. Sounds very promising and exactly what I'm looking for. Still won't believe it until I see it and play it though. I remain very cautious. I'd like to return to having an addiction for playing college football.
Very reassuring words. Even more exciting is that there is more to tell about player equipment. I hope our million threads on equipment were worth the effort.
This is all well and good, but until I hear some concrete reviews of dynasty mode and (hopefully) the fact that it works correctly (i.e. stat generation, recruiting, player ratings, etc.) I will be saving my $60.
My god, I've never been so excited for something in my life. I have chills and could almost tear up after reading that review. I've been secretly to myself begging for all of these things they are adding each year while playing. I am so damn excited I can't stand it. The part where he talked about the team entrances and the presentation and unique team play and the animations...gahhhhhhhhhh. The fact that there will be more "life" to the game is what is intriguing me. Presentation sounds to be spot on, espn tidbits, guys shoving each other after the play, team entrances, etc. Gosh I can not put into words how excited i am. I am hoping and praying the big announcments is couching carousel in the dynasty mode. I will die a happy man!
