Then, the relief pitchers stay in too long. Two of the three games I’ve done post patch have gone into extra innings. The day I see Bobby Jenks pitch 4 innings in real life will be the first time. Since I’m at work, I will cut this off for now. It just pisses me off that we have to deal with gamebreaking issues EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Patience is wearing thin, and like I said before, it’s like they’re doing it because they can. There ain’t nothing we can do about it. I guess we have to wait on the next patch.
I know it's still not right, but it is better than it was (and in real life, starters will sometimes pitch 7+ innings and over 100 pitches as long as they aren't getting lit up). Again, it still needs fixed, yet it is improved at least. But it's obvious they rushed thus patch out to fix the online ranked match bug and they tried to squeeze as many quick fixes in as they could, but the bigger fixes will have to wait till the next patch. If things aren't right then, you will definitely be right to complain.

And you mentioned The Show in your other rant post. I guess you haven't heard that it has a several bugs this year, so neither game is perfect this year, but it's nice to see 2K actually making a good effort this year to get 2K10 ironed out.

I completely agree with you here and think it's an important view to recognize at this point in the game.

Post patch the ball seems to be coming out of my pitcher's hand waayyy less smooth than before. It's a weird animation.

Also CPU hitters seem a lot more aggressive and CPU pitchers seem to throw more strikes.

I'm seeing the issues with baserunning as well.

This is more of a problem -- ever so slightly -- in the American League because without the pitcher batting, the CPU management tends to keep their pitchers in way too long. In the National League, CPU tends to pinch-hit pitchers, but not all the time.

The relievers staying in too long has been an issue since 2k8. Every season I've complained, yet they've never done anything to fix what is flat-out broken AI and Franchise mode.

No lie, I just finished a 15-inning game against the Yankees. Mariano Rivera pitched 6 1/3 inning and threw 91 pitches.

This is a disaster.

Really? That's great news. Do you happen to have a link of Ron saying that?

Yet, i won't be convinced until I see for myself that this has been fixed...

But wasn't this patch supposed to fix it??

I played a game after the patch. It ended up being a 15 inning marathon with me winning 2-1. Many hits, many stranded on base and a lot of bad baserunning by myself. A dinger for the win that actually dinged off the fair side of the yellow foul marker. CPU left their pitcher in until the 9th, althoug his pitch count was pretty low to be fair...I swing at a lot of first pitches :-). The CPU switched out in the 9th after I got a man on.

In the game there were 3 errors and it actually counted them as errors even though the announcers never noted the fact.

One was a grounder to the inside of the first basemen who threw a wild ball the pitcher cover the bag. He had to step off the bag to get the ball. Second was similar except a bunt to third. Throw was high and first basemen was jumping in air when runner tagged the base. Third was a short bloop to left that the fielder bobbled on the hop.

Also had the CPU check swing twice during the game and saw one broken bat. I would have liked to have tested it but like I said, I swat at everything like a fly. Oh, I did manage a walk though...or was that pre-patch?

One thing that seems broken now that wasn't before is the fast play. Even though I am not on fast play parts of my game are skipping with the blue blip - that used to nly happen when I pressed A to skip. It is not skipping intros or fouled off pitches but between normal strikes/balls it is giving me the blue blip and then throwing the next pitch. Before the patch I had a great deal of time while the swing animations ended before the next pitch was throw. Not it cuts part of the animation off, as if I pressed A to skip it, and goes straight into pitching. Same as when I am on the mound. It is boom boom boom until the next intro.

Partly, but it didn't specifically say they fixed the stamina bug, just that CPU pitcher's don't stay in as long as they did before. I don't think they had time to fully fix it in this patch, nor did they plan to. As has been said a few times in this thread, they wanted to rush this patch out to fix the online ranked match bug, so bigger fixes seem to be lined up for the next patch.

I am very impressed with the patch and it's made the game even more enjoyable than it was before. Keep it up 2K.

has anyone else noticed this? can you look at the attributes of some players from an old roster and the new roster and see if they edited down their arm strength and accuracy?

this would be great news if its true, would also mean I have to start over My Player for the 5th time! hehe

maybe I wasn't looking for it before, but I have seen LOTS of check swings in my CPU vs CPU franchise post-patch, including check swings that actually hit the bat. BTW, does anyone know how the stamina slider works? what I mean to ask is, if you move it closer to 100, do they get tired slower, or faster? I have tried moving higher (80-90) and I can't really see a difference. just trying to find a workaround until the 2nd patch comes out.

Someone is here mentioned it, but the ball is releasing from the pitchers hand terribly again like last year. They had it fixed before the patch, but now it's broken again.

I don't have any cross referenced material but I do know that from looking at different outfielders etc in the roster, their ratings seem to be true to life and would equal what I am seeing on the field.

Well, I was playing 'My Player' in a spring training game and the Astros left Roy Oswalt game into the 5th inning, ahead 6-0 and on 109 pitches.

Moving it to the right makes them tire faster. I have it at 100 in my My Player mode since pitcher stamina doesn't go down unless you're on the field. I've had times where I've had long at bats and so have the guys following me in the lineup while Im' on base and we've knocked down the pitcher's stamina by 20-25 in one inning. "But the stamina goes down too fast that way!" you might say... but dont' fret! Because when you pop back up to the plate 2-3 innings later, he's still at the same stamina. I had it at about 65 or so in my franchise and that seemed to be about perfect for me.

How much longer did they leave him in the game after that? How many pitches did he throw before being taken out? Leaving a guy in in the 5th on 109 pitches isn't horribly bad. Especially if the manager wants to save the bullpen and not have them throw 5 innings, it also gives the pitcher the opportunity for getting the win.

This is something I started noticing as well. Its not enough to really take away from the game, but it is noticeable in certain situations. I wonder what they did in the patch to cause this issue to crop up?
