I played two games today. I still feel like the computer keeps there starter in until you put up 3-6 runs in one inning. Have yet to see the check swing.

I love this game but I have yet to see the things they patched be effective.

How do you check swing? Seen 2 of them by the CPU though. LOL

Definitely less jaggies.

And I'm not sure if I noticed it before, but seems that progressive attendance is working now, I'm playing in front of a pretty empty crowd for Indians/Pirates.

I believe after you commit to a swing, you want to pull back on the swing stick. I haven't really been able to do it much myself, but that is the explanation I've been given.

Is that only for the CPU because it was happening with the pitchers we were playing with too on the USER side?

Please tell me this entire mechanic has been fixed both BOTH sides with the pitcher fatigue resetting to 99.

Could someone please confirm.
in my player i pitched a total of 109 pitches down 10 to 0 before getting pulled in the 9th =\ really frustrating .. and now my era is like 15.19 cuz of it..

another glitch i found in my player doin the control velocity.. drill as pitcher.. i spot my pitch directly over the location it shows and i goto throw the pitch and its picture perfect in the middle of the gold square and it doesnt give me my dang skill points..

I played a My Player game last night right after I downloaded the patch. I'm on the Royals facing the Giants (interleague) and they had Lincecum throwing. Well, we jump up 4-1 by the 6th and I figure they'll leave him in since he's Lincecum and all. Well, I pop up to bat in the 7th and lo and behold, it's Jeremy Affeldt in the game. I don't usually check fatigue for opposing pitchers in My Player since it doesn't go down unless your Player is on the field. But, it was nice to see a middle reliever actually in the game in the 7th, especially since they had one of the top guys throwing on the hill that game. Usually, he'd stay in the game until the 9th and throw 140 pitches. -- Only played one game though since it was so late, but I'm sure I'll play quite a few more tonight.

Back to the Topic.
The 2k forums specifically said that the second patch is in the works and that this should mean that PS3 players will have two patches in one, the reason the 360 patch came out first is because of the quality and quantity of the feedback from the 360 community allowed them to get things on the fast track. Kudos to 2k sports for not making 360 player wait longer because PS3 users didn't provide as much productive feedback.

Installed the patch this afternoon, played one full game, then several situations in My Player mode.

Full game went without any new issues. Old problems still remain - still no errors, no IF pop-ups, and the one time I tried stealing with Brandon Phillips (70% SB success last year), he was thrown out by 30 feet by Miguel Montero (24% CS last year).

But I did see something new in "My Player". I'm playing a LF and so far (over 50 games simulated), the batter's count is always 0-0 and they put the ball in play on the first pitch. Today, there was a check-swing strike on the first pitch! The count actually went to 0-1 before the batter hit a fly-out to LF on the next pitch.

Just finished my third game post-patch. A couple of new things I've observed.

1) Played Dodgers vs. Nationals. They had Jason Marquis on the mound, and he had a rough outing. I made him throw 28 pitches in the first inning, and I hit a 3-Run HR with Manny to take the lead. Not really overly relevant, but they scored two of their own in the bottom of the first. After having a relatively easy second inning (1 hit, 13 pitches thrown), I was very surprised to see a pinch hitter come in for Marquis, and there was a new pitcher to start the 3rd. Now, I didn't really pay attention to what his fatigue was at after the second, but it seems AWFULLY weird that he was pulled after two innings, 41 pitches, and a 3-2 tie? Again, I have the Pitcher Fatigue slider at 70 (from pre-patch), but I think I'm going to reset it to default for post-patch.

2) I think I have found a new bug (for kpkpkp to report to Ronnie at 2K). This has happened to me three times today, with two being from my last game against the Nats. After a random action replay (this one being a 2-run HR by Zimmerman), the camera gets stuck on the batter in the box. The weird thing is the replay is done, and the camera is just focused on the batter for some reason??? After hitting every button on the controller, I found that hitting the D-Pad down (sub menu) brings the game back into action. Has anybody else experienced this?

Any thoughts?

Why does it seem that the patches we are always waiting for 2K to put out don't really make the game better? I hope the next patch will be the greatest patch EVER! I'm not going to hold my breath tho.

I play 2B in My Player and see IF popups on a pretty regular basis.

Well, let's see: we now have Check Swings, less jaggies, and the CPU doesn't leave their pitchers in for insane lengths of time, Player of The Game is fixed, plus they fixed the online ranked game bug and a boatload of little things as well

The game is definitely better, especially for a patch released just 13 days after the game was released (and it was getting approved by MS for about a week, so that's even less time that they had to work on it). Let's be realistic. This is a good patch considering that they worked hard to get it out ASAP and they did what they could in that short timeframe. The next patch should fix more of the major things, but let's cut them some slack on this one. Another patch is coming.

The reason the PS3 did not receive the patch was not because of a lack of feedback, they are both the same game. Different systems same problems. But you are right about the PS3 version getting two patches in one. Looks like us PS3 owners are just going to have to be patient.

From what I can tell on my 360, you PS3 guys aren't missing anything!

I just saw my first error, but it still wasn't recorded as one.

Playing in FLA as the Giants, Fred Lewis hit a shallow pop up to RF that Cody Ross took a bad angle on and had the ball bounce out of his glove.

It was nice to get on due to an error, but to not have it recorded as an error sucks. At least it didn't go down as a hit.

Well let's see: They put check swings into the game, They should have been in the game since the beginning. It is nice they put it out so quick BUT I would have gladly waited another week or two to make sure these things worked properly. It seems like the pitching is still hit or miss to me.

I apologize if this is covered elsewhere, but I just played my first game with the new patch and wanted to say that I noticed a couple things.

Now maybe it is just my imagination, but everything seems a bit slower, fielding, throwing, pitching. These are good things. Also I swear that the fastball is straightened out. again, could be my imagination.

So I started a new franchise with Boston. Things were going along great until in the 7th I homered with Youkilis. The stat said "1st today" (6). Meaning first today, 6th of the season?? Uh oh.

Then the pitching fatigue looked great until the 9th inning...thats when Beckett reset to 99. Made it that far though (used to revert back in the 7th. Uh-oh again.

BUT, then the box score at the end of the game...MAJOR UH-OH's. Beckett went 8 full, zero runs and had a 3.19 ERA. The hitters all showed last seasons averages. I had one steal with Jacoby and it showed that he had 16 on the season. Martinez had 2 rbi's in this game and it showed 22 for the season.

So basically stats way messed up. Can somebody tell me if they experience the same starting a new franchise? Do I just need to cold-boot the xbox and start again?

The issue of the check swing abcense in the original game has been beaten to death, and as the moderator said, this is not the place to debate previous issues. The good news is they patched it in...so no sense in dwelling on the past.

And about waiting another few weeks, the other patch is coming, so we have that to wait on. Personally I'm glad they got this patch out quickly because now ranked matches are working, and though you may not play online, a ton of people do. Plus we have less jaggies and the other fixes are icing on the cake while we wait for the other patch. So I don't see the point in complaining about it.

1) 2k definitely needs to work on early inning pitching substitution logic next year, the mets replaced Johan Santana after 2.1 IP and 2 ER pre patch for me.

2) I experienced this a few times as well, and just like you I hit about every button until I tried out down on the dpad. That seems to be the only way to get out of that.

I just figured out what is going on with statistics in new franchises since the patch....

It appears that when you start a new franchise it is pulling pre-season cactus and grapefruit league stats into the regular season. I started a brewers season and counted up Fielders HR's in preseason...8...and checked league leaders...8. And he had already played 30 games.

This is a major problem and I can't play another game until they fix this. Should be a simple fix, but yes, when you start a new franchise, preseason stats count toward your regular season totals as well.

Anybody got a 2K connection that can report this?
