Yeah post patch I've experienced this same problem, it seems to happen on any catch near the sideline or if a ball carrier runs out of bounds after a catch. Almost every game now the CPU will catch a pass in bounds and if his momentum carries him out of bounds, a cut scene appears and the refs rule it no catch out of bounds, although the runner clearly has 4 sometimes 5 feet in bounds. This never happened before patch 2. I also had a clear td catch in the endzone, it was reviewed and overturned, but rather than getting the ball back at the 10 yard line where the ball was before that play, they gave it to me on the one yard line, totally inexplicable.

Issue I've noticed is now the wild cat playbook is useless. Post patch, the jet sweep play, the RB running to take the hand off will run into the RB taking the snap and the whole play is snuffed out.

Dolphins playbook is now totally messed up.

With the flats being more solidly covered, a lot of opponents are opening up their passing game. I just had a wonderful game against a very good Colts user and it was about as rewarding of a chess match as I've gotten in M10. Before the patch, whenever things got hairy people just went to the flats. Since that isn't an option anymore, the opponent used real football strategy to move the ball. It was really awesome.

I also love the fact that nothing really feels "off limits" in M10 now with the flats being fixed. Call whatever wherever and whenever because the game is now really balanced. Props to EA.

Love the in game stuff so far, the blocking seems to be much better and more dynamic. For some reason it just feels better, more like real football. Good job tuning here.

Hate the new stats in franchise. Really. I could take the lack of rushing touchdowns and secondary backs sucking wind (which they still mostly do) more than the complete lunacy of having 10-15 guys over 1500 yards and 3 guys topping 2,000 most every year.

Please focus on this somewhat for next year, it really does hurt the immersion of franchise for it to be like an NFL blitz league with the stats. 8-9 ypc for elite backs? Chris Johnson is having a phenomenal season to be around 6 ypc. Like, as in it's almost never going to happen in the NFL kind of phenomenal.

Everyone has already said all of this, I know. But... seriously.

All I want is realistic auto replay frequency. EA said replays would be better with patch 2, but I'm just not seeing it. Replays are still far too infrequent, and I am yet to see one after a TD. Seriously important plays that would get 2 or 3 instant replays on TV get none in Madden. For example: I converted a 10 yard 4th down conversion attempt. No replay. On the very next play, I threw an int in the end zone. No replay.

I just don't get it. Oh well, I'm going to give up all hope for this with EA.
I commented on this earlier. Im also not seeing the replay. Overall the gameplay is better, but the lack of replays, the challenges are ****ed up, just disappointing.

Don't see how ones aren't seeing more replays. I'm definitely seeing more than pre-patch but overall it can (& should) be better. There should basically be a replay after every first down, TD, or turnover.

I'm set to hardcore playcalling and I see no replays whatsoever. Gonna try setting playcalling to advanced and see if I start seeing replays?

thats rediculous that playing in hardcore would affect the replays

i know shouldn't replays be a presentation setting?

# 210 Bgamer90 @ 12/14/09 04:30 PM
Yeah I don't understand why the setting would have a change to the # of replays either but I am playing the game on advance so that's the reason why I'm seeing them...

well whats the difference between Hardcore and Advanced? I play on hardcore because I want the game to be as difficult as possible

Very varied and on an inconsistent basis is correct. I've played games on Advanced when there were replays after TD's and other games no replays after TD's. I don't think it's fair to say replays after TD's are non-existent if others have do see them, even infrequently.

On advanced, I do see more frequently replays during the game then I did pre-patch 2.

The differences between Hardcore and Advanced have nothing to do with ratings or such. Hardcore means no backtrack, no replays and and no pre-adjusting screen (ie, show blitz) before the ball is snapped.

No problem, thought you meant something else.

I've seen replays on advanced on good runs, good passes and after TD's. The next game, the replays after TD's are not played.

For me, though, replays are shown more frequently after patch two. Others may not see the same frequency with replays that I do during the game.

For someone who plays offline franchise only, what is you guys' consensus on the patch?

Are the changes to gameplay major enough to warrant the horrible stats?

I am pretty happy with the game after patch #1 and as I understand it, if I download #2 and do not like it, I cannot go back to patch #1.

What is with the pre-determined outcomes of some plays?

Playing on All-Pro with rewinds on against another human player, I have seen the outcome of two different plays end in the exact same result.

One play was a running play. HB gets hit 3 yards past the line of scrimmage, 6 defenders converge and the HB works his way out of the gang tackle and runs in for the score. I rewind the play (being on D), and the EXACT same gang tackle and breakaway.

Another example. I'm on O this time, I do a PA Boot and throw to WR2 crossing the field, and outrun the D. D chooses to rewind, and the EXACT same result.

The second example is forgivable as the WR did have a step. The first example was BS.

It seems like catches near the sideline are broken too, now if you catch near the sideline and you get 4 feet in, they rule it incomplete and if it's less than 2 minutes, they won't review.

# 217 shon @ 12/15/09 11:59 AM
The biggest problem for me is inconsistency in the game. One time I'll see 3 replays during a drive but not for the TD, other times I don't see any at all. Some times my blockers do okay but more than not they get lost and don't block anyone. It's just frustrating that a simple thing as replays after TD's is not automatic with an option to turn them off.

# 218 LBzrule @ 12/15/09 03:00 PM
Since this patch I'm noticing a lot of BAD calls by the refs. Maybe they were bad before, but now it has been brought to awareness. I played 3 games yesterday where the WR CLEARLY had both feet down in bounds and had caught the pass. Hell even got a 3rd one down and on two of those plays I challenged it and lost and on another one I couldn't challenge it at all. Straight BS.

That's your call in the end. If you are real critical of a few stats being off(ypc, sacks) then don't download. If you are more interested in the gameplay aspects, by all means, download it.
