Much love to countryboy and the others with impressions. I don't think I will bring myself to part with 60 $ for this game right now. Been really thinking about it. but with money so precious I don't want a game I might barely play and if there is in fact no real difference between players whats the point ?

Thanks again to all who spent the time with this giving us the real info.

The severe lack of fouls when driving the lane, that might be even worse than Live. I put it at 80 and didn't get a single call. The AI got about 4. After that I put it at 100 and have only got one since. Might be a home court advantage thing or they just call less in college. I don't really watch it so don't know a lot about it. Steals and post game are much better.

Loving the presentation and commentary.
Thanks for the answer.

You mentioned the post game is better. Is there more post moves in this game?

Anyone that has the game can answer as well.
the motion offense is well done and adds an added dimension to both offense and defense. A very welcomed addition. Any specific you want to know, just ask and I'll try to answer the best I can, but the overall scheme is that guys are constantly moving, screening, and cutting.

I didn't play Live, so I can't compare the two games and I haven't seen anything in the game thats new, that wasn't talked about on here or in the blogs.

Sorry that your question got lost in the shuffle.

yes. You can name as many people as you like, then have the game auto-name the remaining un-named players.

They don't have the talent they have had in year's past...They have to do something to compensate and compete with Kentucky

Hoping rosters are good for mid majors. If not:

1) is there a create player?

2). Can you change uniform #'s and class (soph, jr, etc.)

since this is apparently "so much like Live", I'm leaning towards trading in Live and giving it a shot.

I don't know how crossovers can be considered cheap when players use them in real life. Adjust your sliders and level and it isn't that easy to get past the D.

I will add though that if a team has a strong post and they run a 4 out 1 in, the post will at least get touches. What he does with it after that I don't know. But if the offense fits the personnel it seems like they will play to their strengths.
Notre Dame I guess. I would like to see if they give the ball to Harangody enough so he can score 20-30 points a game. Thanks a lot for doing this.

Not sure if they do when you actually play against him, but on another website a guy posted the scoring leaders for a simmed season and he was #1 in NCAA at 29 or 30 a game. That might be a little high, but pretty darn good I think.

I can't chime in on what separates this from the NBA game(s) because I don't have a retail copy of Live. And that reason alone is partly my point as to why I'm enjoying this game as much as I am. I have nothing to compare it to other than its predecessor. Thats it. I could compare the demos I guess, but even then its not the total package.

This game, outside of maybe presentation, doesn't do anything groundbreaking. I doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before and arguably better. If you're looking for something "different" in this game, outside of presentation, that will set it apart from other basketball titles both old and new, you'll be trying to find a needle in a haystack, imo.

The game is solid. Its college basketball. It captures enough of the atmosphere and the gameplay of the sport, that its an enjoyable title for me.
By no means am I an expert in video games but I would guess that adding TWO true to life presentations in one year not only took a decent amount of time, but also probably took up alot of their budget. I don't imagine ESPN or CBS gave the rights up to those things for nothing. I would think that after this year they can spend all their time doing tweaks and making modifications and customizations since they have a solid engine and presentation to build off of.

Presentation took up 60% of development time, they have stated in previous blogs

I agree with what you said. However the massive job cuts by EA probably may not bode well for a lower priority game such as NCAA Basketball, which gets limited resources to begin with. Hope it works out well for their series though

played the game already, the presentation is just astounding.

everything looks better than last year imo. only concern for me is i cant steal the ball by anticipating through the passing lanes anymore like last year's.

I kept on trying pressing the steal button when CPU tries to inbound, in front of the guy the CPU is passing to, and my controlled player does nothing. and when i anticipate a pass and cut through the passing lane, i try pressing the steal button again when the CPU makes a pass and my player just ran through it. either that or im just WAAAAAAAY to slow on pressing.

really not a big factor though, im enjoying the game...

Seriously dude, you've played the game 1 day and you're ready to call it a waste? I haven't played it, but it would have to be a total disaster for me to play a game 1 day, and call it a waste of money.
