Also, if anyone who has the game is able to post some video that would be great. I think seeing more/lengthier footage of the game may help some of us in our decision to buy NCAA 10 or not.

If you're undecided, I'd highly recommend renting the game. About the only way I'd say to someone that its worth $60 is if they enjoyed last year's game despite its shortcomings.
Thanks countryboy! I think I'll take the dive and get it. I need an emotional connection to a team for me to enjoy the game. That's why NBA wasn't for me. With Kansas being so strong this year I don't think I could pass this up.

Yes, I also sold Madden and The Show (got $70 total) in the last month so I'll have somewhere between $100-$110 after Live to spend and I don't buy anything but sports games. I'll get this today (if I can find it) and put the rest towards The Show '10.

I know some people did experience it in the demo and others seemed like they did not, but is the retail disc having the hiccup issue?

Big time KU fan as well. It's hard to pass on this game when they're the top ranked team in the country! Still, I have my reservations about this title sadly.

Does the CPU guard bring the ball up the court and proceed to dribble the ball around the three point line for 10 or 15 seconds before running a play?

Have you played a slow it down team vs. an up tempo team? Are there truly differences in how each team runs their offense?

Thanks!

1) no

2) you can edit some things, as you could last year, but some things were locked. And for the life of me I can't remember what all could be changed and what couldn't. Will check today when I get home if no one else answers before then.

thats why I don't play NBA games. I really don't have a connection with any of the teams.

I know what you're talking about and thus far haven't seen it.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that my enthusiasm for this game has gone down quite a bit. I was one of the games biggest supporters last year. I decided to just take the game for what it was and I truly enjoyed playing my dynasty (as anyone who ever followed my dynasty updates would know already). I was 'all in' for getting this game after I had seen what they did to the presentation this year.
But then I played the demo....and I don't know if its because I really enjoyed NBA 2K10 this year or if its because I played THE HELL out of NCAA Basketball 09 last year...but it just didn't capture me for some reason. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay has definitely improved and I loved the new 'motion' offense feature.

But the player movement, ball-rim physics, lack of animations, still get to me. Plus to hear that the dynasty mode has pretty much been 'un-touched' from last year has disappointed me as well. I did end up playing every single game for 5 seasons in 09....so maybe I'm just afraid of the dynasty mode in this game growing a bit stale after a short time this year.

I don't know, I guess I was just hoping for more in the dynasty mode (like pre-season tourneys, selection shows, highlight shows, etc)....this type of stuff is what kept me hooked on CH2K8 for so long (among other things). Knowing me (being the basketball nut that I am), I will probably still end up purchasing this game sometime in the future. I'm just not in a rush to go out and get it now like I was a few days ago.

Similar to NCAA Football, is there a team options sort of thing where you can edit the type of offense, etc.?

Also, could you see if UConn C/PF #5 (Ater Majok) is in the game. He's not eligible until after the fall semester.

1) At times yes. Sometimes they'll push the ball up the floor, other times they'll stop and set things up.

2) Yes and you'll notice a differnence in how quickly they look for shots or how many "extra" passes they make. Is there a difference in how teams run their offense? yes and no. You'll see a difference based on the different tempos, but other than that, not really.

I played, I believe it was Lamar, last night and they had a pretty good C, but they didn't give him the ball as much as I thought they would. Could be because I played zone and high pressure on him, could be that Samardo was denying the ball well, could be that the cpu doesn't realize star vs role players. Too early to tell in all honesty.

you can edit your "gameplan' in the sense of picking three things for your team to focus on, and they differ based on the tempo you choose to play.

Not at home to check to see if Majok is there, but I'm pretty certain I saw #5 on UConn's roster.

I don't mean to be pushy because I really appreciate all the work that goes into creating rosters but how long do you think it will be until the first ones come out?

A lot depends on when people get the game. The roster editing is a bit "clunky" so I would expect it to take several weeks for one person to name every team. If there is a community effort, probably 2 weeks.

Thats purely speculation though.

any visible difference between a team that COULD be on the list, like a top 30 team that still has a loud venue and one that made the coveted list?
Sorry Ruben...I didn't pay attention to the toughest places to play list, nor did I play a game outside of Freedom Hall last night, except for one at Cameron Indoor to see how different the retail version was from the demo.

I'll check today when I get home.

Majok is in the game and is their starting C, there's a screen shot of him over at Game Cinema. He's on the left.

Do we know if you can use named rosters online?
