Ah, there's my wildcats in that screen shot...I don't know how often Patrick Patterson wears the arm band though. I will probably have it on Wall and Bledsoe only.

I have some questions:

1. How is the Human AI compared to College Hoops 2K8? After playing the demo and then playing 2K8 last night, I couldn't help but think that NCAA 10 felt more realistic in terms of player movement. I always felt like the AI human-controlled players stopped moving after a play was run in 2K8 and just stood around until you called another play. Do you have to keep pressing the motion button or will the AI-controlled players continue to move around?

2. How is the CPU shot selection? The demo was full of bad shot selection by the computer. Do stars play like stars or is it pretty random? For example, does Kansas try to pound the ball inside to Aldrich or does someone like Brady Morningstar end up jacking three after three?

3. How is the post game overall?

Thanks ahead of time.

Invididualism is probably going to take more time for me to really decipher, but just from the handful of halves/games I played last night, there is a slight difference between star and role players. Its hard to tell really with UofL as they are all rated so closely together.

Now playing as Evan Turner last night 87, vs someone off the bench as his same position, I could tell a bit of a difference.

In all honesty, the ratings are so close together within teams and the whole NCAA that it is tough to tell the difference between say a Edgar Sosa vs a Peyton Siva. Guys rated over 80 do play better than guys rated in the 70's and 70's play better than 60's, but its tough to tell a difference between a 78 and a 72 for instance.

CBS is the better presenatation in my opinion. ESPN is no slouch, but Gus and Raft are new.
Thanks, CB! I figured with the ratings being close that there wouldn't be a ton of differentiation between starters, but at least there is a noticeable difference when the bench players enter the game.

Here's my advice...if you liked last year's game or if you liked the demo, then you'll most likely enjoy this year's game. The demo did a terrific job of letting you know what the final build would be like.

Anything else, didn't play last year, didn't like last year, didn't like the demo, I'd strongly suggest you rent the game before buying.

The game is good, the game is fun, but the game isn't perfect. It has some rough edges, some are sharper than others. There are going to be things that some people can overlook and while others can't.

Customization level, announcers use of the name database, AI tourney selection logic, animations, limited individuality of players, no cpu ballhandler identifier, are all things that are rough spots for the game, and there are probably others that people will find. People need to ask themselves how important each of these aspects of the game are to them, before dropping $60.

In the end, the game does a good job of capturing college basketball. It got me through last winter and I expect it will help me get through this winter as well.

Take care...
If you love college basketball so much and this all missing, what is there to enjoy? Just because a colored jersey says Michigan on the front?

Im not trying to be funny or a jerk or anything like that, but I seriously want to know what it is besides I like college hoops, because alof of us do too.

I had CH2k8 and played it last year as well(didn't like 09 at all) Just picked up 10 and it seems to be a lot better...is it choops2k8 no but I am definitely happy with the purchase and I am sure it will get a lot of play time. Controls are completely different from choops so thats taking some getting used to, but overall I am happy with it after playing two games.

With the things listed as far as 'rough edges'... to me... its not a deal breaker. Yes it would be awesome if all the names were in a database and were said by the announcers. Yes it would be awesome if the AI tournament selection was perfect...

But compare this game to last years... strictly on gameplay and tournament gameplay with this year having less upsets along with less 5 star recruits... this game should be great!!

We can complain all we want for 'this and that'.... but in reality... when you're dealing with sports video games... you will never be able to get a PERFECT game! There are WAY to many variables to play into making a game (especially a sporting game) perfect.

Long story short... the reason i'm going to love this game is because of the presentation improvement and the overall game improvement compared to last year!

How well does the tempo meter work this year?
Are there any online impressions? Is it comparably to Live online?
Can you you choose between espn/cbs presentation? Are there highlights?

for me honestly, thats all it is. I don't follow the NBA. I don't have an emotional tie to any team. I follow players, but typically only through a newspaper boxscore.

I love college basketball. I love everything about it. Now this game doesn't capture it all, and it doesn't include it all, but it does enough and is fun/enjoyable enough, for me to spend my winter taking my beloved Louisville Cardinals through season after season.

I really don't have any other answer than that.

I don't have online impressions as I haven't played online.

Tempo meter works much like last year. Not really a fan of it showing me the tempo as I can pretty much tell on my own the pace of the game. In play now games offline you can choose which broadcast presentation to have and yes there are highlights.

CB, I know you somewhat addressed the redshirt question earlier. But have you checked at all in Dynasty Mode since on whether or not you can redshirt players?

At this rate man, this game wont be around long and thats what you dont see. I wont derail the thread with this kind of talk but you can accept everything that has been presented to us in the past and worked well, while most people cannot.

Last year isnt really a good measure for anything at all. I have last years game, but truthfully this looks like an update.

What additions in this game seperate it from the NBA game?

CB, you can chime in on that one, Im really only asking the guys who are playing right now, not us who've only seen reviews online.

Can anyone check the attributes for Iowa? #1 and #5 should be the best players, but can't see them being much higher than 70 if at all.

The thing is, this game really is just an update. The presentation, the addition of motion offense, the Live engine, and the tweaks to dynasty mode are pretty much all thats been added to this game. I won't say they are the only things added, as I'm not sure what new things, if any, have been applied to online, but we all know they aren't groundbreaking.

I can't chime in on what separates this from the NBA game(s) because I don't have a retail copy of Live. And that reason alone is partly my point as to why I'm enjoying this game as much as I am. I have nothing to compare it to other than its predecessor. Thats it. I could compare the demos I guess, but even then its not the total package.

This game, outside of maybe presentation, doesn't do anything groundbreaking. I doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before and arguably better. If you're looking for something "different" in this game, outside of presentation, that will set it apart from other basketball titles both old and new, you'll be trying to find a needle in a haystack, imo.

The game is solid. Its college basketball. It captures enough of the atmosphere and the gameplay of the sport, that its an enjoyable title for me.

Has anyone one seen anything about differences b/n the 360 or ps3 versions? I have Madden and NHL10 on the 360, so I'm looking for a sports game to pop in the ps3. I don't care so much about nitpick graphical differences, but things like framerate, etc. I'm assuming they're both pretty close, but games from EA have been known to get the short end of the stick on the ps3.

Quick observations.

The game plays very much like Live which could be a good thing or a bad thing based on your opinion of Live.

The sliders move based on the difficulty level. In other words everything is not at 50.

I clicked game speed down to 48 and it seems fine. The demo felt too fast.

Defense is better than the demo. Not nearly as much sliding. I recommend switching and using defensive assist to help with defense. If you get lost on defense, switch and use the assist as it will get you to your man (or at least to the unguarded man).

Zone defense isn't overly effective (i.e. no automatic steals).

Fouls need to be bumped up. Free throw difficulty needs to be bumped down. I have them at 55 and 45 respectively. Free throw difficulty seems in line with Live all-pro default at 45. They were ridiculous in the demo and I didn't even try them at default.

Atmosphere is nice. Really nice.

I'm not super familiar with most rosters so I don't know what players look like but to me they're editable enough. Almost all players wear their socks at medium length so if that bothers people there's some editing to do.

On 10 minute halves the players don't really fatigue.

Shooting percentages may be a tad on the high side. Small sample size though.

Do all players play alike? Put it this way. If a guy has a 3 icon you're more likely to hit a 3 with him. If you try to pull off fancy dribbles with bigs they will turn it over. You can size up and get to the hole with good quick guards. I don't know how much of a differentiation there is between teams and how the ratings really affect the individuals.

Fast breaks? Similar to Live I guess. Uptempo teams can pass it up the sideline and get to the bucket. You have to pull your bigs or whomever is running the wings into the paint as it seems the wings go spot up and the bigs stop at the free throw line. By pulling people into the paint I mean you have to bring up the icon and move the player to the spot to break effectively.

Players seem a little too bulky but they can be edited to a skinnier build.

That's all I got for right now.

countryboy -- What I really liked about last year's game was that while there were many things it didn't do, the stuff it did do, it did well. The in-game experience wasn't broken in any way. Is that your general sentiment with this game?
