One v San Antonio.

First half was great...but then, in the second, the Spurs started shooting 3 point shots from just inside the half court line. They were up by 12 and it was only the third quarter...yet Manu and Tony Parker started hoisting up 3 balls from a meter inside the half court (missed them all, one didn't even make the distance). Crazy stuff.

Second game v Portland

And Andre Miller became Allen Iverson and drove and shot in traffice all game. Hardly passed at all. I know the game has PG domination....but that's crazy.

Weird, weird stuff.

I hope they can just iron out everything and come back with a more stable game in LIVE 11.
did you switch to a 2-3 zone? i've noticed the cpu does do some weird crap when i switch to the 2-3. it's only a couple instances though, nothing really to gripe about.

Post patch this game is Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde to the extreme. Very frustrating, yesterday I got a taste of the greatness of Live '10 post patch and since then I've had one really good game and three absolute stinkers.

No idea what to make of this game, I don't know if the inconsistencies are going to be worth it throughout the entire winter even though I love the gameplay when everything is going well.

Just played against San Antonio as Portland. At the start of the game TP came down and gave the ball to Bonner and he jacked 3s, three straight trips down the court(All Star Difficulty). SMH like everyone else has said this game is tripping me out offline. Please EA make the online ranked games playable......I need fatigue, superstar difficulty and the step back 3 has to be fixed. Maybe I'm just asking for to much, thank god MW2 is about to drop.

I'm done with Live '10. Post patch, DNA, I don't know what it is, but since downloading the patch for the competition I can't stop playing their game. Hopefully Live '11 can fix the inconsistancies.

So the game is better pre-patch?

# 706 23 @ 11/07/09 01:09 AM
no

Played a beautiful dynamic season between the suns and celtics. Right guys where taking the shots..nothing nuts out of the CPU. Paul Pierce hit a dagger spot up three on me.

I havent seen anything wacky from the CPU for a few days now. The first few days of dynamic season..the CPU was positively scatter brained..

The only thing I'd like to add is regarding the "size up moves". Pre patch, when a size up move was done by a superstar, it felt like you had a more successful chance of the ball going in, whereas now, not only do you not get the basket, but your pulled into a collision animation and no foul is called. It almost felt rewarding to get the shot to drop as well as being a counter for the cheese tactics happening online. It was like a sure bucket, which I can also see as being a problem. But in my opinion, they over exaggerated everything they changed in this post, while leaving out the most important things: Fatigue, sub menus and 3 point field goals. This patch is a complete let down, IMO. It essentially rewards cheesers even more now. Now there is no way to counter them. Playing good sim basketball doesn't cut it, at least not for me. I hope the developers are paying attention to this thread.
Yup I'm pretty much feeling the same thing. I WAS praising this game and the dev team for a job well done. While not perfect out of the box, some things needed fixing like rebounding and going to the line just to name a couple. The patch seemed to address this along with all the rocket dunk and warping to the rebound. Post patch at first the game was even more enjoyable, smoother but a weird thing has happened for me. The game just feels broken now, for example now for some reason the cpu seems to get the and ones at will but on my end thats not the case at all. Things are just to lopsided now. Size up doesn't feel as successful as it did pre patch. The biggest problem i'm noticing is the block is 10x worse now, elbo block, forearm blocks its all just a mess now. I can't put my finger on it, it's almost like dynamic dna and the patch are conflicting with each other.

Dynamic Season i'm using the lakers and in real life I realize Kobe isn't shooting at his best but his last 4 games are:41,41,31,41 and vs the rockets he went to the line 15 times. Here's were the problems start post patch (weird DNA stuff) I for the life of me couldn't get Kobe to the line no matter how a tried, in fact by the 3rd quarter he was 1-20 and had only been to the line twice. I play simulation style ball so I had the good sense to go to the bucket when I saw he was struggling to hit a J, I though okay I can at least get to the rack maybe get some calls and get him heated up. Nope not the case it felt like the game had Kobe's night all locked up, lid on the rim and no calls. For the first time since I got the game I had no desire to play another game. When I thought it was me my nephew tweeted me saying he's having the same exact issue (he's on ps3) just a side note i'm playing on all-star.

This is what happens when two companies concern themselves with what the other is doing to the extent of having blog and forum fights, they miss the boat on giving us the best they have to offer. Get it right the first time and everything else is icing on the cake.

EA please patch this patch!

Absolutely not. There are problems pre and post patch, but the game is immensely better on the higher difficulties post-patch.

I'm sure most of their issues are because of DNA. It's the blessing and curse of this game.

Well, two more post-patch games under my belt, both Dynamic Season games from a few nights before. These games played fantastic for me.

I played the Kings, trying to re-write history against visiting Atlanta. NOT happening. The Hawks smoked me, start to finish. Nothing really wonky, well played by the CPU, Bibby, Johnson and Smith just killed me.

Second game, I played the Mavs @ the Hornets, and it was a great game. Mavs had a lead most of the game, they tied it late, but I won going away by 8. Again, very well played by the CPU, Chris Paul was awesome, scored 33. He (cpu) was very aggressive, with Paul driving on me all game, and a few times even on missed shots they would rebound and hit him with a lead pass and he was off and running, taking it end to end. Great stuff.

Nowitski was my bread & butter (duh) with 35 pts, 11 rebs, 7 assists. Fun stuff.

Observations:

- Again, the game IS better post-patch. Still not perfect, but better. MUCH smoother and less slidey and wonky on defense especially.

- CPU was definitely aggresive, driving on me all game.

- The biggest thing I have noticed, is that the game-changing runs seem to have been toned down. MUCH less noticeable. Previously, the CPU would go on runs and it seemed like they were VERY difficult to stop. Much less so, now. There's still runs, but not nearly as bad.

- Oddly, after the game looking at stats, they only showed like 8 players for each team. That I don't get.

One thing I'm starting to notice post-patch is that there's a much bigger difference between good teams and bad teams & good players and bad players (and of course the stars vs everyone else).

Pre-patch I could stay with or beat some really good teams using the Knicks. Since the patch unless I'm playing the Kings, Thunder, etc then I absolutely get my *** kicked - Pro or All-Star.

I was starting to get really frustrated post-patch after five games but I had only used the Knicks. So I used the Cavs twice, once in DS vs the Knicks and once in Play Now vs the Celtics. Much, much better. I annhilated the Knicks and lost by 8 in a battle with the Celtics.

Gotta say it's impressive. My only problem now is that the Knicks are SO bad in the game it's not even worth using them. It's funny during last night's broadcast on ESPN Jeff Van Gundy said the Knicks don't have a single player on their team who should be in the starting lineup of an NBA team. A lot of 6th men, a lot "in the rotation guys" but certainly no stars. And as Chris Rock said, "You're in a lotta trouble when Al Harrington is your go to guy." That's exactly how I feel now using the Knicks post-patch, I'm in a lot of trouble.

Aside from OT and goaltending issue, I keep hearing about how the game always freezes after the patch. This bug alone would not make downloading the patch worthwhile, right?

Do we have any idea when the next patch comes out for the 360? I'm going back and forth between games still yet.

I think I've read it from PS3 people, right? EA seems to have an issue with what they are doing with another game on the PS3 this year, NHL10, freezing.

I know I haven't experienced that myself, but I'm on 360. Only word on the subject I can offer.

# 716 Chairman7w @ 11/07/09 05:08 PM
I haven't had any freezing issues yet (PS3) at all.

# 717 ehh @ 11/07/09 05:33 PM
It's been a good for me on PS3 as well, seven games so far with no freezing.

LOL I watched that as well. I can only imagine how much of a test of patience using the Knicks is.

I`ve just had an extremely tense game between my Lakers and the Cavs. Varejao tied the game on a buzzer beater to take it to overtime, but we managed to score 21 points in the ensuing quarter on 8-10 shooting, thus winning the game. Fisher shot an incredible clutch three, too.

I -love- the atmosphere in this game. The crowd really gets into the game at the appropriate moments, and the player reactions add even more to the overall experience. Each of my players were reacting wildly upon scoring in OT, and it just looked so real.

Playing on Pro made me enjoy Live again. All-Star was frustrating me beyond belief. Now the only truly disheartening moments are when the AI decides to shoot those fadeaways from half-court.
