I'm not interested in a fan boy towel fight so it's duly noted... :-)

Funny how, once again, a sports game demo comes out on XBL for Gold members, FIRST, and everyone else including PS3ers have to wait til the NEXT week. I don't think it's a Sony thing, like I was told to people by someone I won't name but they're in the gaming industry, I think MS has bought these cats so they can have this "exclusiveness" for a week with Gold members on XBL to try to get people to get Gold memberships and, maybe, try to convince PS3ers to get a 360. Not going to happen with THIS PS3er, Cap 'n'.

You can go on Youtube and see a whole game. Just type in NBA 2K10 Spurs vs Jazz
or if you wanna see what a Association looks like type in NBA2K10 Association.
I think that would be better than seeing a demo.
Lovin this demo. Great ball movement by the CPU. The too high FG%'s will be fixed easily by sliders, of course. And I like how in this game, Fisher knows his role.
Anybody won a tip as Bynum? Did he win one against Howard in the Finals this year?

In the Live demo on default i was dunking all day, but after turning up the difficulty this was no longer the case. In 2k10 on default i rarely ever see any dunks in traffic.
Your sig tells me your at least slightly biased. If this game has issues, dunking in traffic is NOT one of them.

I think 2K needs to retire Isomotion and develop a new locomotion scheme for the ball handlers. ..
Can I get some kind of confirmation/proof that Kobe did mo cap, because I highly doubt that he did. The reason I don't believe this is, why was his shot so different in the Combine and 2k saying they changed it like 4 times since?

I just played about 6 games, and I can honestly say that 2k10 is better than 2k9...and compared to Live... It's like 2k10 is a BMW 335i and Live is a top of the line Toyota Prius. Both are good in their own ways (I have and drive both, by the way). However, I would always drive the BMW (2k10) whenever I want more fun/challenge/fulfillment.
I think the sim players are the ones who would enjoy the most out of 2k10. The cheesers would probably go for live.
The first thing that jumped out was the graphics. The game just looks more like a NBA broadcast than Live. On animations, both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
Gameplay wise, what jumped out was the fact that I felt that I had to work the ball around to get a good shot rather than just trying to create your own shot with a good player (a.k.a. Kobe) in Live.
Howard's put backs are just a sight to behold...I say "wow" even if it were the computer AI doing it to me.
I love this game. I'm definitely buying it. I like Live, too, but I'll be renting that out first to see if I can tweak it to my gameplay tastes.

You guys watch your tone. I just simply asked to see pictures. I would like to see what the demo looked like off the screen. Damn

In a halfcourt situation Shard's rotation is correct, you gotta stop the ball first. Hence the phrase, "Drive, draw, & dish" from an offensive perspective. If Shard just stays with his man and let's Fisher go then he'll have an easy lay up, if he comes up to help it allows the rest of his teammates time to recover/rotate and hopefully get a deflection if Fisher tries to pass to the man Lewis left. At least IRL, no basketball game has that down pat yet.

Meh - the controls and animations are still too sluggish for me. The movements have no "explosiveness" or "urgency." It feels like all the players are playing lazy or something - like it's a scrimmage game and they don't really care.

Sorry, I read your post after I posted my impressions. However, I must say that comparisons to Live are valid impressions as well so why are you against it. I think that comparisons would help people on a tight budget decide which one is the right one for them.

Again man, there are hundreds of pictures of the real game. Nobody is going to waste their time posting pics of a half of a product when the full thing is out there already.

I feel like I'm enjoying only half of the demo by now...although I'm still having a blast with it.
But my gripe is with Isomotion. Why do they always have to make it such a mystery? Every year it's like that...I go through hell until I finally get every move down. And just when I thought I could use what I've learned last year, the new game comes and mix it all up all over again. It was the case in 2K8, 2K9 and it's happening again.
I know some people can master it pretty quickly but I believe VC should come up with a more reliable/intuitive system. And I don't think it's a case of the old cliché "easy to learn, hard to master" either...
It really frustrates me to think that somebody might be enjoying the game more than I do because I can't get the hang of some sluggish mechanic.
