NBA 2K10 Q&A: Retail Copy in Hand

I and a few others were lucky enough to attend the NBA 2K10 launch party here in NYC.

We were given full copies of the game and are willing to answer questions.

The only thing I'm going to tell you guys right now:

NO QUESTIONS ABOUT RATINGS. We already post them in the NBA 2K10 screenshots section.

I can't figure out the accessories either. The only way you seem to be able to get white accessories on the road is to select White. You have the following options:

White/Black/Team Color/2nd Team Color.

This is a problem for a team like Boston. Their dominant color is green and their secondary color is white. So there is no way to get the white at home/black on the road combination without manually changing it each time.

Why can't 2k just do it like this:

Set up each jersey and specify it with a primary color and a secondary color. When you edit your player, have the following options:

White/Black/Primary jersey color/Secondary jersey color

AND

Allow the user to specify the primary jersey color and secondary jersey color somewhere.

Would make life THAT much easier.

It thought the entire purpose of Team color/2nd Team color was to allow changing colors with the jerseys.

Perhaps they did it with some teams. Boston was not one of them.

And you only get to see your away jersey in the Edit Player screen. Why can't I click in the left thumbstick, get a drop down menu and select the jersey the player is wearing so I can see how it looks? Right now I have to go into the game and check for each jersey.

Design decisions, fellas...

I don't care either way. I mean, it's in the game and it needs to be addressed.

People are going to claim doom and gloom one way or another, whether they have an agenda or not. Not trying to "hide" anything over here...

Just saw my first layup animation where I went through someone. Only one I've seen so far, which is a good sign. Uploading a video of it so it can get addressed hopefully.

Hey Pared, did u notice if the CPU PG walks up the court as he brings the ball up after a made shot by the user?

In all the vids i've seen so far, the CPU PG would just run up the court unlike in 2K9 the PG would walk up the court and wave his hand around to call out a play.

Pared, do they still have the automatic "walk the ball up the court" animations? I haven't noticed them in any videos. Looks all manual.

regarding ur post about the headband problem Pared, btw thanks for addressing to my concern, i should say i couldn't disagree with you more. Hopefully 2ksports acts on it or a patch would be great eventually.

You can save Quick games in the middle of the game and come back to them later. SLICK!

If you're both asking the same thing, the CPU is bringing the ball up normal speed. Not walking, but not turboing.

Nah mine was for the user too. Like when you used to bring the ball up the court and automatic animation would kick in. That's what I'm asking about.

This is a great idea. I wish 2k would do this to, there are times each year waiting for the next NBA 2K to come out I wished for something like this. Hey Pared, this is something to remember should post this again when 2K11 forums start up.

sorry if you didn't answer on purpose, (as you might not hve tried the game on higher than allstar) if so just ignore me, but just incase

can you let us know if the PnR ease is apparent on superstar and HOF? as you have said it is on pro and all-star? (esp with jazz)

Oh yeah, absolutely. Move the left thumbstick slightly and they walk it up the court. The CPU doesn't do this often, if it ever, however.

I'm a cleveland lover, and a boston *****.. i match them up most of the time because of the rivalry, and it sucks to know that they're the two teams affected by the headband issue.

One more question and i don't expect this to be answered quickly or before the game comes out coz i can wait to see it for myself.. BUT how does animation intro works if you put kobe (without sasha), garnett, lebron, wade, carter, duncan all on the same team? Will all of their animated intro go into effect while the camera focuses on each player simultaneously? LOL. i can imagine wade, carter, duncan in line to hang by the ring.

thanks a lot pared, ill keep checking this thread later tonight then

cant wait as if the higher difficulties wipe this problem out then i can see myself have little to no gripes with 2k10's gameplay this year.

Pared I know u said not to reask questions but mine is way back in the thread and it might have been lost in the shuffle. It's the only question I have: can you and a friend play vs. The CPU in season or association games over the Internet. Sorry to ask twice, but like I said this with this thread being this big some things might get lost. I promise I won't ask again. Thanks for answering so many question
