I don't mean to speak for others, but I think a lot of this is just a little miscommunication. I don't think the KG post move is a travel per se, but there is a sort of spasm before he begins his move, which makes his whole body kind of jitter and thus it appears he's moving his feet a lot more than he should be.
Second, it looks like Ray just made the point a little more clear. Garnett jumps just fine on his dunk, just like he does in real life. But the strange thing is how his legs kick back (his left foot looks like it swings up to his butt). It looks like something a young guard may do on a breakaway.
One of the catch 22's about improving gameplay, graphics and animations to the point where they're beginning to take on a real NBA broadcast is that the small details that don't fit begin to stick out a little more than they should. It's a testimony to what Live and 2K (and maybe that other game someday) have accomplished.
I think we get greedy, but at the same time, imagine how much better it would look if KG didn't spasm before making his post move and then did a dunk that completely suites him on a rim that really responded correctly?
Or imagine if you could spill into the lane with LeBron in 2K9 and not worry that he might set his feet and do a two-footed windmill over a slew of defenders (which he truly does frequently in 2K9 but never in real life)?
There's so much great stuff going on in both games but I do not believe it means we all must chill and celebrate their greatness and play off all the small things. I think there's a line though, I just don't know exactly where it's at. All the years of constructive criticism on minute details by gamers of both NBA series have helped bring them to where they are now.
Edit: Welp, looks like everything was settled while I was typing. I guess I'm beating a dead horse.

It's cool man I get where you guys are coming from but my views on games are just a little different.
I can stomach little things like that because they don't distract me from the gameplay. Its when animations take away from the gameplay that I start to get critical.
Things like suction rebounding can become huge problems to me when they effect the game.
I have seen some of that type of stuff in clips for Live but it doesn't bother me because it's not effecting the gameplay negatively imo.
Visually it may not be all that appealing but that's not something I think about when I play you know.
I'm just thinking ok that player got the rebound but I didn't feel cheated so it was okay. I hate it when games have animations that take away control from the player.
I can settle for okay anims if I feel like I'm always in control of the outcome of each situation.

Might even take a day off work for it.
I have to rant though. I've been reading here for 6 years. OS was always a very mature site. Was great reading the comments of KDRE (now 23), monkey (now CV), Will (now WTF) and others.
Now, feels like OS is losing it's mature appeal. I just shake my head somedays and some of the new people here. Forums I used to love reading getting littered with trash. Taking away my enjoyment despite trying tto ignore it.
This video is impressive. Any genuine Basketball fan can see that. Now if the bias fans (both ways) can let people discuss the video instead of hate this, the other is better, etc.
Apologies to the mods for the off topic post so back on topic.
I cannot waiit to use freestyle passing with the great spacing Live has. Drive and kick baby.

Game looks great 'EA'!!!
I was an NBA LIVE fan back in the Super NES days, but...
I have been a 2K fan ever since the Dreamcast-era when Allen Iverson was the cover-boy...
**I want to say a big KUDOS to the EA team/staff this year for what's looking to be a GREAT game this year! EA's transition from '09 to '10 looks to DOMINATE the transition 2K from '09 to '10.
I am going to have to REALLY do my research this year to figure out which one I'm getting...thanks EA!!!

It does look a bit like 2K. That's not a bad thing. It looks more like a broadcast now. Way to take notes EA.

I can't wait til I get the game in my hands...
Honestly, I've seen dudes on here complain about alot of stuff over the weeks and ended up getting every last one of their complaints shut down.
This game may not be for everyone, but sure will be for me as a fan of the game. They've put so much work into this game i'd be cheating myself being a game company fanboy and ignoring what each game brings for my enjoyment.
I see dudes here complaining that said they wouldn't even get the game. Some of you guys are just too old to be playing games, or are just in a rut and won't enjoy anything no matter what happens....That doesn't even include the guys who have EA agendas in here, those im going to be on you for your trolling be sure about that.
Anyhow, if a guy like biglami who wont hold back his discontent with garbage likes what he saw, and a guy like Sage who hated EA likes the improvements then there are some things done right.
I have a feeling the AI will be the real deal this year in the battles it gives you game to game. Can't wait to play

Thats such a weak and pathetic nitpick man. You can do better than this Ray
I can see if it was a J-Rich windmill with 3 guys standing around but you're dismissing a perfectly good executed play just to point out that the soles of his feet shot be parallell to the floor...
YOU definitely dont need to play this game then because you're going to have brain failure if you're going to play and look for weakness like this
