Your feelings are perfectly valid and correct, but you need to show some restraint and choose not to hand them your $60.

I was like yourself up until but last year where i finally said NO! to Madden. This year will be the same, they have made great strides with Ian Cummings at the helm, getting them away from stupid gimmicky features and focusing on football, but the product still lacks polish and maybe next year they can tweak it, and put out something more lifelike.

if anything, i suggest renting from gamefly, or buying it used. their numbers have gone down year over year, and i think it's worked since oddly enough they've started making some core changes to the Madden formula.

be strong fellow football gamer.
You hit it on the nail sir. If you want a better game, just stop buying it till the devs make it better.

IMO passing is cool but blocking and running is horrible. defense is cool but it doesnt feel right it feels like i have no impact and its all the A.I. is doing. for me, passing being good and hand towels is not enough to warrant a good NFL simulation. they have a long way to go but at least there on the right track but have to keep it up

i always knew madden 10 wouldnt be THE GAME but i really hoping madden 11 will be THE GAME and i can put 2k8 to rest(IMO the best representation of the NFL in terms of gameplay to date)

itz not suctin blocking you stupid losers its obvious that yall cant catch on well... use the right stick to break out of the blocking and point the left stick into the direction you are trying to go... im playing on all madden and im getting sacks

people just dont understand how strong that NFL license is. madden is the best selling sports game not because of there gameplay and presentation. its the NFL licence, that produce 5-7 million units that will be in our consoles on the 14th. in order for EA to listen that number need to drop by half. now do u honestly feel that 3 million people across america not gone buy the game???lol come on man we all should be realistic in some way.

a good question will be will u buy madden(as it is now, no changes) without the NFL. your purchase solely depends on gameplay and presentation

exactly but if you put 2k8 versus M10 without the NFL license. 2k8 will stomp M10 to the ground hence why i say all pro 2k8 is the best NFL simulation football game to date(IN TERMS OF GAMEPLAY) and madden will never slay the 2k dragon unless they get with the program

Well, I've played the demo now for two days straight. I've played the CPU and humans.

My new impressions: still a great game. It does have some flaws - I can't get to Ben at all on All-Pro when he's controlled by the CPU. In two days of playing I have not recorded a single sack. The blitz rarely pressures him.

Another good thing I did notice was the different style of play. Arizona relied much more on their passing game while Pittsburgh mixed it up.

Can't wait until August 14th.

I remember that. I got Madden 99 and it thought it was great and the next year got 2000 it was soooo different in the gameplay.

Butt this day i prefer madden 99.

Impression (360 version): After a single game this is what I observed (not impressed).

1) Game looks terrible (no AA)
2) On several occasions the returning team(AI) would down the ball in the endzone with my closest defender 20+ yards away.
3) Transition from gameplay to cinematic episode(s) is very cut-n-paste'ish.
4) Defense STILL penetrates into the backfield to easily during pass plays.
5) Playing on All-Pro I found it easy to score against the AI (and I sux at Madden).
6) Playing defense, my ends would penetrate into the backfield to contain, but even if the backfield was empty except for the QB, they would not
converge on him.
7) Defensive backs still have bionic legs!

Hope they have a release day patch or allot of people are going to be very disappointed (unless its just the demo).

1.Game looks great. I am playing on a 32" LCD HDTV and see no jaggies at all. Best looking sports game I have besides MLB 2k9, they are a tie.
2.20 yards is not much. You are running at them and they are running at you. That makes the distance close twice as fast. Plus you have to get out of the endzone first. So I see why they down it when they do.
3.I think they look great, could look better, but definitely not cut and paste.
4.Come out in shotgun and leave a back to block. I am not getting sacked that much.
5.The game actually can be easy, then it can be hard. i just won 10-0 on All-Pro, but I won earlier by two TD's on All-Madden.
6.Don't get what you are saying. On contain they make sure he doesn't scramble, that may be your problem.
7.I have yet to see a superman CB.

1) Concerning the look, after watching some vids of the demo (and your response), I wonder why my game looks so jaggy (although others have indicated a terrible look to the game as well)?
6) I would think that if nothing is happening in the backfield the de would attempt a tackle? However, I can conceed your point.
7) My defensive back seemed to leap 10ft high straight up to snag a pass.

Are you running the pre-order demo or the gold-member demo?

does anybody have an extra ps3 code??? nearest gamestop from me is over 1.5 hours away!

I am really enjoying the game. The new speed feels fantastic. My few gripes are:

1. Too many "lame duck" animations. I have literally gotten 20+ on the 5 min demo. Both myself and cpu...its insane. Would like to see a "smart" cpu qb tuck it in and take the sack, fumble, or JUST get a decent pass of before getting killed.

2. Pass rush in the 3-4 is very difficult. I can get to Romo like crazy with Tuck in the other demo, but the super bowl rematch is difficult (for me-all pro/all madden).

3. Too many picks returned for TDs. This was a huge problem last year, and I'm a bit upset to see it still be an issue this year.

On a positive note-I really enjoy the "anything can happen" feel I get from this game. I sense this is what NCAA devs were shooting for when they wanted "wide open gameplay". Big plays don't seem to happen too often (other than pick 6), but I still feel like my guy can break a couple tackles at any moment and go the distance. I love that.

The only thing that has truly bugged me is the DB's with eyes in the back of their head on all-madden.

2 WR's to the right
slot runs a corner outside runs a streak (against man coverage)
I see the outside WR run off the DB and throw a 20/25 yard corner darn DB in man coverage against my outside receiver stops turns runs about 5/10 yards and beats my slot receiver to the ball Int.

I love throwing this year, it's beautiful to actually see an errant pass
Hit as QB is releasing the ball animation and how the ball moves is awesome

Reading through, jsut some random IMO thoughts I have....

-QB throws a bad pass do to pressure WAY to much. Not neccesarily pressure is to strong, just if there's any what so ever he gets hit and throws a present up.

- If I don't buy Madden, 3.4999999999999999999 million other people still will. There is no way to boycott this game for as long as they have the licencse.

-I'm the only one displeased with the 34 D? NT still only takes up 1 blocker.

- All Pro is to easy, but All Madden is to unrealsitic. They need a level between there. I know about sliders, but that doesnt help me when I play online or at a tournament one bit.

-Ben is way to accurate.

- The game is real slow until the ball goes up in the air it seems like to me. The players move slow, but the ball is close to the speed it was traveling in 09, and LB's zip through the air when they jump to the side to defend a pass.
