NCAA Football 10 News Post

Hey guys... so we are aware of the issue with no (or few) freshmen on some teams in TeamBuilder and yes the same issues are found on the NCAA 10 disc. Over the past few days, one of our top priorities has been investigating solutions.

The TeamBuilder teams require some data on the disc to set Depth Charts for every team created before they can be used in a game. For example if you use the Cupcake roster as a starting point, NCAA 10 will give you a default Depth Chart for the Cupcakes for your TeamBuilder team (which you can edit in game). This means any changes we make could cause some problems with teams already created using TeamBuilder. So we need to ensure we are taking to proper steps to correct the issues.

We understand the concerns with how this can affect Dynasty mode and Online Games, so we are working hard to have a solution in place before launch on July 14th.

Probably cause it doesn't come out in time?

Extremely well said. I'm with you.

Look at that list. Those were all freshman last season.

12 games isnt barely playing. 20 tackles and 2 sacks isnt a 91 rating, your right. But it isnt barely playing. If you watched the games, he played alot. He couldnt rack up any stats because the defense couldnt penetrate the o'line, and when they did, Brandon Graham got most of the sacks.

Mike Martin is also a beast and really bulked up this off season, and was getting raves all spring practice. Now we know they rarely mean anything, and a perfect example of this is Stevie Brown. If you wanna talk about a terrible rating job by EA, this is it. LOL! The guy is the worst excuse for a safety ever. He lost his starting job and is going to be a hybrid S/LB this season.
Ok, no need to get all personal...

I didn't mean "barely played" as in not playing in all games. I meant "barely played" in that he got a small fraction of snaps within each game. Yes, he played in all of them, but he was usually out there for ~20 defensive snaps of 50. Sure, that can be considered more than barely playing, but it's definitely barely playing, IMO, if you're going to give him a 91 rating.

Also, sorry, I got the class wrong. For some reason it feels like Martin has already been around forever, probably because I was following his recruitment because that was my first year working for Scout was when he was a senior, and it already feels like a long time ago.

With that said, it makes it even more ridiculous, IMO, that he's a true sophomore ranked 91 overall. Haha.

Pryor and Griffin both earned their 90 SPD in my opinion. We all know Griffin is fast. Pryor has deceptive speed with his long strides. Denard Robinson is up there too, but since he's never touched the college field, so I'm happy with the 88 rating.

speaking of fast, edwin baker, an incoming freshman for michigan state, ran against me in high school. the guy makes me look like a tree when i run well. I talked to one of his teammates and they said he ran a 10.2 100m dash, so I would like to see his speed a bit higher, like 97 or something. 93 is cool since he hasnt played any games yet, but 10.2? thats faster than Jahvid Best man.

Of I can remember, speed has been tuned a little more fairly this year. Anyone around 93-94 should be good.

10.2 is fast. If can remember, Robinson ran 10.2 or 10.3 in FL. So I would be happy to see 93 for Baker seeing as though he's never seen the college turf either.

The annual release of NCAA Football has always been a highlight of my summer and i have been a day one patron for the last 5 years. The news of this gargantuan mistake leaves me no choice but to not only not purchase NCAA Football 2010 but to alert my friends to not purchase the game either. For most avid NCAA Football gamers the one single most important aspect of the game is an accurate set of rosters. The roster is needed for online play and for those that wish to start a dynasty with their favorite teams and embark on a lengthy journey through time with the new freshman class which is nowhere to be seen this year! I also find it completely misleading to market a game with past players such as Michael Crabtree if the game does not accurately portray what they are marketing. I understand NCAA rules but replicas can be created to abide by the rules as in years past. I'm hoping that a solution to all of this can be reached that will be beneficial to all parts. But to say the least I am quite disappointed.

Sweet! You work for Scout? I am a poster on scouts Michigan network, GBW, but on the free board.

How in the world does junk like this happen EVER YEAR?!! The futility is amazing. I wont be buying this game on launch. I will wait and see if the COMMUNITY can fix a broken game YET AGAIN. Pathetic.

Can somebody give me the cliffnotes version of the problem as I haven't been paying attention to NCAA 10 at all. I'm not understanding this teambuilder thing.

# 455 slick1186 @ 06/15/09 09:14 PM
When you think that they have screwed up everything that they could have in previous years they still are able to top it with this one. Thanks NCAA Teambuilder 10.

A lot of teams are missing freshmen and have players that graduated still on the team. This is not for all teams...most of the Top 25 is updated I believe.

This problem was discovered through the rosters on the Team Builder web site, which were confirmed as the final rosters that EA prepared for NCAA's release. If it weren't for Team Builder, no one would have known about this until release day...

So it was finally confirmed?Wow,pretty big slip up there.

# 459 DrUrsus @ 06/16/09 03:13 AM
I haven't been following this at all and just read it. Man, when I was in the video game business, people would (should) be fired over this kind of stuff (maybe they were, I don't know).
Sheesh, the screw ups just keep coming, and not just from EA.
