Oh I don't think Urlacher is too old to play, but I would agree he's been hampered by back problems a bit the past 2 years. I actually think if he were used less in coverage then he would do better, but being a MLB in the T-2 defense, you've kind of got to be. But you guys know your players better than I do so I won't try to argue that too hard.

Everyone knows that if the dline struggles then the rest of the defense will struggle. That was the reason the Bears defense looked bad at most of the time. Remember though the Bears defense still ranked:
5th in rushing yards allowed
16th in points allowed
3rd in interceptions

weakness were:
30th in passing yards per game
22nd in sacks

If they can get to the quarterback more consistently then the sacks will go up and the passing yards allowed will go down.

Anyways on to the ratings.
-I think Hester should be rated better than Bennett but oh well
-wheres Pisa??
Other than that I don't really have any problems because I know they will be changing during the season.

Also they don't have our 3rd quarterback because they are only allowed 55 players. In real life they are allowed to have more but have to inactivate players on gameday ala Head Coach. That is why Madden needs to allow us to sign more than 55 players.

You obviously missed out on the 2003 season.

I think it was definitely a case of being out of shape, moreso than being on the field too long.
The first TD was a blocked punt return. FG. The second TD was set up by an INT.

He'll probably show up on the Rams roster, they likely just didn't update it since Pisa signed.

I think that is a misconception. If you look at the bears time of possession stats last year, their D really wasn't on the field as much as you would think.

----

And yeah thats cool to talk about the packers, but all the "all our guys were hurt blah blah" Everyone can say that about everyteam. To this day, I still think that if Cedric Benson didn't get hurt (and fumble the ball in the process) in the superbowl, the bears would have won that game....
I love how Bears fans try to console themselves about 'how we would've won the Superbowl' when it was closer to a blowout then anything. We ran the ball down your throats when you were supposed to have a great defense.

You just generalized a whole fan base on one person's opinion. And that person stated that his opinion was only a "what if" reach scenario. So I guess all people from Wisconsin are idiots, right?

That's cool,at least you don't have to worry about Rexy anymore. He was great that year for the first half of the season but didn't do anything after that.Him and your run defense was the culprits for that Superbowl.

I'm sorry about the aggression felt from that Superbowl.Just think about the '85 Bears and chill.

He stated what he meant and I see he comes across good and not delusional.I just got that reaction several times from different Bears fans that made random excuses.Obviously not everyone of any fan base is bad.I never personally would try to rub it in unless I was provoked.

Just saying if you go through 'what if' scenarios you can come up with any angle in your favor.I really didn't feel you guys were ever in the game, other than the opening kickoff and into the first quarter for awhile.

You guys had a very good team but didn't play well at all.It happens.

# 115 Kevin26385 @ 06/08/09 11:45 PM
I really do not care, and I don't need excuses...Rex Grossman sucked and the defense played scared which was a huge mistake..And they still only lost by 12..It was not a blowout

In reality the Colts should have won by 30...The Bears were a joke that day

# 116 mKoz26 @ 06/08/09 11:54 PM
The reason we lost that game is because we let the Colts play their game rather than forcing them into ours. The defensive playcalling killed us. We were too conservative. When you are going up against a better team, you've got to take risks, and we just sat back and made sure they couldn't get the big play on us. The Colts deserved to win.

The reason why the Bears lost

Addie/Rhodes
Blown coverage on the TD pass
Rain and Rex throwing to catch up

The Superbowl ended on that day after the 1st Qrt....due to crap weather that imo ruined what could of been a Great SB.

Not saying Chi would of won,but the over all game would of been much better and exciting in a dome or good weather Day.

Yes. The offense managed a field goal and a 4 play 23 yard TD set up the the INT.

Anyhoo...the defense is underrated.

As far as the ratings,I think;

Hester should have a higher catch rating which would bump him up to around 75 anyway.

I think Greg Olsen could be a couple points higher.

Alex Brown's awareness should be higher bringing him up to 80 while Tommie Harris should be a couple points lower.

It would look as if Payne and Bullocks are your starting safeties when Manning,Graham, and Steltz are in the competition and should all be somewhat higher, especially Graham and Steltz.

I don't know if the rookie,Gilbert, should be your 2nd highest rated DT.I thought Adams was decent and I liked what I saw of Harrison.Rookie Dt's usually do nothing.

I disagree with the Dvoracek rating. The dude always plays well, but then gets hurt. Just raise his overall rating and increase the injury rating and done.
